Great job with gluten free handling. Totally burnt and somehow still soggy in the middle pizza. If you’re stuck for somewhere safe - here go you! If you have another option, take it.

Notes

"It is possible that there may be trace amounts of flour among our toppings. Our team members would be happy to change their gloves and build your pizza in a separate prep area in the back upon request if you are allergic to gluten. Gluten-free pizzas are baked in an aluminum tray to promote easy identification and reduced gluten contact. However, since we do work around flour all day and ALL pizzas are baked in the same oven, we can not guarantee that trace particles of flour and/or gluten are not in and around gluten-free items."

This place tastes amazing! Great food, even better service. The only thing is if you are a celiac don’t go during prime hours. They do have a separate kitchen for gluten free orders but they all share the same oven. Granted they do put the pizza on a pan in the oven so it doesn’t touch. There is still a lot of moving parts and only so much they can do during crazy rushes. They really do try to keep an eye on the gluten-free pies if you have a severe allergy, and if they suspect any type of cross-contamination they’ll try to make your order over again. But again there is only so much they can do. So I would give them a 5 star usually but last night my wife got sick from them and we should have known better but we’ve eaten there before without her getting sick. Maybe we’ll try again when it’s slow......

Staff asked me to confirm if allergy or preference. Then they took care of my order in the back to ensure. I cross contamination. I ordered the basil tomato and mozzarella pizza. It tasted great. Usually I’d not like it because it has too much cheese, but it was just the right amount. I also ordered the peppermint chocolate gelato. It also was delicious. No issues what so ever. Will return again!

We have eaten here many times on our trips to Savannah. I have Celiac and Salicylate Sensitivity. They are very knowledgeable about CC, and even prepare gluten free pizzas in a separate area. Every GF pizza I have had here has been great! Sadly, during this last visit we ate at the Your Pie in Pooler, Ga, and the experience was not as good as the one in downtown Savannah. Lesson learned.

I had a gf Great White pizza. It was delicious! I have celiac and I instantly react to gluten. I was fine after eating it and the next day after eating the leftovers. The staff was very busy (Saturday night, jam-packed) but they took time to explain their process and were very careful. They have a separate area and toppings for GF pizzas. This is a place that you must try!

Food was certainly 5⭐️(GF and nonGF review); however, the young lady that greeted us seemed aggravated with questions from the get go. She half-heartedly asked us if my husband was GF by preference or allergy and then seemed annoyed when he said it was an allergy. Since we both have worked in food services, we decided she may have just been having a bad day so definitely not a reason not to go.

We went here based on prior reviews and were so disappointed. First and foremost the attitude we received from multiple workers Saturday 7.14.18 was ridiculous. I honestly felt that energy right away, but add gluten free formalities and the annoyance grew. The pizza was limp/under-cooked in the middle and burnt on the crust. My entire family of 4 (we all eat GF) did not enjoy their pizza. So disappointed.

Great gluten free pizza! They prepare it in the back kitchen to avoid cross contamination. They bring it out and put it in the shared oven but it is in ya own foil pan so it doesn’t touch anything. The crust was very soft and not too crunchy like most gf crust. I ate there about 10 hours ago and have not felt any symptoms.

We decided to eat here last-minute during our vacation based on some reviews here. When we walked in, two guys were Rossi g pizza crust at the line. Gluten-filled pizzas were going directly into the wood fire oven. Flour. Everywhere. Oh. No. My husband ordered his regular pizza and I stood there terrified... BUT THEN... I meekly asked, “I need a gluten free pizza. How would that work here?” The guy immediately asked, “Allergy or preference?” And as soon as I confirmed Allergy, he removed his gloves and asked what I wanted on it. A sign identifying gluten-containing toppings was clearly posted, so I knew what to avoid. He wrote down my order and prepared my pizza on a gluten free crust in a separate room. When he came back, the pizza was in its own rimmed pan and it baked in that, not touching the oven surface like the regular pizzas. I know that cross contamination was still a possibility, but I haven’t reacted that I can tell. I so pleased with the care given to my order, and my pizza was delicious!

Great pizza, very careful with GF orders. Ingredients listed for crust, prepped separately from regular pizza, baked on its own aluminum pan. Almost every topping is gf, dairy free also available. Had the butternut squash pie, all the toppings were super fresh. Staff checked on us after we ate to see if everything was ok for me. As safe as they can make it for a pizza place. Super nice!

When we stepped up to order and asked for a GF pizza pie they asked if it was for an allergy or diet choice. When we said allergy they took note, prepared our pizza in a completely separate section away from where the rest of the pizzas were prepared, I witnessed the cook change his gloves and wash his hands after getting our order even though he was already in the GF section - just to be extra safe, he used toppings that were kept separate from the rest that could have been contaminated, the receipt even had a separate medical allergy annotation, and when they delivered our food to the table the kitchen runner confirmed that this was a GF dish prepared for allergy. Extremely impressed with how well their company is setup to handle our GF food options. They even offered a GF beer and a cider. Their food was tasty and their service quick.

Was really excited about being able to order vegan and celiac safe pizza, however it did not pass my nima sensor twice :( The staff is extremely knowledgeable and they really do take every precaution, however my nima said gluten found on the first pizza they made me so we asked if they could try again, and unfortunately the second pizza also said gluten found. I want to say it’s probably the ingredients getting cross contaminated at some point in the manufacturing and packaging process because the staff makes the celiac safe pizzas in the back at a separate station and they cook the GF pizzas in a safe pan with a lid in the general oven. I might try it again down the road to see if it will pass, but I definitely recommend that celiacs that have a nima sensor use it, and those that don’t should maybe avoid this place.

Staff is very knowledgeable about cross contamination. When ordering gluten free the employee writes down the toppings you want on your pizza and assembles it in the back. It is cooked in the same oven but on a tin baking sheet and covered so it does not touch the oven. It is cut with a different pizza cutter. I feel very safe eating here! Not to mention it is delicious!

Pizza was good and they do try hard to prevent cross contamination, however, if they’re busy with lots of pizzas in the oven, I think heat convection causes wheat flour to float all over the oven. I was crampy afterward :(

I have been here several times now. When I order a gluten free pie they ask me if I’m allergic: that way they can change their gloves and prepare it in a separate area including another oven. They asked me to write my order down so there were no mistakes, they made it in a special area, and when they noticed I had requested the basil pesto for my pizza, they immediately came out to tell me that the pesto contained dairy and offered alternatives. Staff did ask if I wanted my pizza prepared in back, changed gloves even though I'm Gluten sensitive and not celiac (although it seems to be getting worse). My only issues are that the vegan cheese is daiya which isn't the best texture or taste wise and I am also intolerant to dairy. It was difficult to order since I had never been there before... The menu does not specify what has allergens in it... It hangs on the wall as you walk through the cafeteria style line. I would love to have had a salad but with no info on dressings... And all salads being premade with cheese in them, I did not order. There is a sense of feeling rushed because of the ordering style which means I'm less likely to ask questions or order more. Would also have loved to have a brownie.... Which is extremely easy to make gluten and dairy free... But again nothing was conveniently labeled. Pizza was ok. Mostly the vegan cheese is off-putting, but the crust is put into a foil pan and baked as so to not cross contaminate it... Which is awesome, but it was flimsy/not crispy when it came out.... Maybe I should have asked for it to be well done.... That might do the trick. I would go back, but I'm still on the lookout for a better option. These are personal sized pizzas, but my 5 year old son and I shared one, each having 3 pieces. The up charge for gluten free is 3.00... Which I'm happy to pay... Considering that it means more gloves and gluten free flour are more expensive.

Delicious! Was able to have a pizza that was gluten, dairy, corn, and soy free! They have at least one dairy free sorbet each day as well. So happy to find a safe place! They make the gluten free pizzas in the back with separate ingredients away from the others and cook it separately as well.

I love this place. I try to come at a slow time, and the manager now recognizes me. She is already changing her gloves and has a pencil and paper ready to take my order to the back before I reach the counter. Jennifer is extremely diligent! She keeps my pizza away from others in the oven, she sweeps before my pizza is in the oven, and doesn’t sweep again until after my pizza is out. They have dedicated cutting equipment in the front, and they have a dedicated space in the back using ingredients not on the line to prevent cross contamination. Pizza was so good! Thin crust but got to pick all the toppings. They asked if it was allergy or preference and when I said allergy the girl immediately took off her gloves and went to make it in the back. It was a little crisp on the edges but I know how hard it is to make a gluten free crust so it didn't bother me. I have eaten here three times in the last 6 weeks. It has become our "go-to" spot when we are in Phenix City. Fairly affordable and lots of choices. I have celiac; my SO is not gluten free. I have experimented a bit since the first time when my pizza crust was cooked through but did not hold shape (light sauce, extra crispy fixed that issue for me). They ask me right away if I need it prepared in the back and then immediately take off gloves to take my order to the back, where it is prepared away from the gluten containing items. My pizza goes on its pan into the brick oven (non-GF goes directly in without a pan) and into a section well away from the gluten pizzas. I have NEVER gotten sick from them and I am hyper-sensitive to cross contamination. Only thing that would make it better would be to have an area with access to the brick oven of its own that is fully designated gluten free so my pizza could go directly into the oven and have the opportunity to fully crisp on bottom, which is not something as easily designed. Can't wait to move up this way and have it nearby all the time!!!
