Overall great experience. Recommend reservations, since this place is popular. We sat outside which was nice because it's pretty boisterous inside. Server was so enthusiastic and attentive, and while he got thrown off a little bit when I asked about gluten-free options (and said I had a wheat allergy) I think it's because like many places they can't guarantee no cross-contamination so their menu is listed" gluten friendly". I ended up getting the pulled pork, smashed sweet potatoes, and baked beans, A. Mojito, also tried some of my family's tri-tip and brisket. Everything was extremely tasty, some of the best barbecue I've had in a long time. Wish they had some more vegetable sides like collard greens, but I guess we're in the west now so what can I say?

Chad was an excellent server! They don’t have a separate GF menu, but the regular menu has markings for Gluten Free, GC (gf but with cross contamination/shared frying oil), nuts and vegan options. Makes it very easy to pick out your best options!

Yes I’ve eaten here a dozen or more times, both take out and in the restaurant. No gluten cross contamination ever or gluten issues ever. I’ve had very detailed conversations with servers, hosts, many times, all of them up to the task of checking ingredients and knowing what gluten is and how to avoid it in your order. Always delicious too. I take out huge variety pack trays for at home dinner parties and guests always write down the name Wood Ranch.

I have not had any problems. I have celiac and the server always honors my instructions. They don’t have separate fryers. They don’t guarantee against cross contamination. But they do have many gluten free options.

Gluten-free items are marked on the menu with a “G,” and the restaurant also identifies “gluten-free” items that are cooked in the same oil as food containing gluten with a “GC.”
When we put our order in after informing the waitress that our daughter had celiac, the waitress said that she could not guarantee that the gluten-free items would be safe because they are cooked on the same grills as items with gluten. She did say that she would tell the kitchen about the allergy, and that the kitchen staff would take precautions.
In short, there’s a very high risk of cross contamination. The only reason we came to eat at the restaurant was because of the 2 prior reviews from a few years ago on the Find Me Gluten-Free app that rated it with 5 stars.

I’ve been here several times and never gotten sick. If you tell them what’s up they really try to take care of you. Told the takeout person I have celiac and they immediately ran into the kitchen and told everyone no gluten and to change gloves/clean everything down. Refreshing having somewhere in LA where they know it’s not just a fad diet.

This place was amazing all around!! The service 10/10, the knowledge of ingredients 10/10, I’m not celiac but have a wheat and barely allergy, nut allergy, and seafood allergy. I had the pulled pork, with the chicken potato skins and no reaction at all!! And they were both AMAZING!! Will definitely be going again while we’re in San Diego !

This was one of the best barbecue restaurants we’ve been visited anywhere, and most items were gluten free. My husband had the baby back ribs with slaw and baked beans. I had the chicken breast with mashed potatoes (gf and v), and the slaw- which is also gf and delicious. We visited several times during our visit to San Diego and wish we had one where we live. Servers were also very attentive and took great care to insure we were safe from CC. Great place’

Delicious food. Our server was not the most knowledgeable about gluten free but she asked about everything she didn't know. I got nervous when my food came out with a sauce on the side and a coleslaw I didn't realize was going to be on the plate but the staff put me at ease that the whole plate was gluten free. It was fun to have so many choices on the menu. I highly recommend them as a place to eat.

I have celiac disease and ordered a top sirloin steak and mashed potatoes and to note gluten allergy. I tested it with my nima sensor and it came back gluten found. Wood ranch Burbank has never messed up so I don’t trust this location after that mess up.

All questions answered well. Though the menu has the cross contamination warning, so little cooked there has gluten there is little risk.
You can pretty much order any of the main dishes as all the sauces are gluten free.
The staff was well aware of the gluten free options on the menu

These guys are really pretty good at dealing with celiac. They clearly have gluten-free items marked on the menu and they're always reassuring when I ask them to please double confirm with the chef and watch out for contamination. Lots of choices. Lots of great food. No gluten free bread sadly and a little short on appetizers unless you want to substitute tortilla chips for crudité and dip.
Yes
Every time I come here I feel confident with the server & chefs knowledge on Celiac. They take extra precautions with not cross contamination. You do need to tell them and ask which items are GF. Yummy food!
Yes
They have a GF menu and all the BBQ sauce is GF. I’ve eaten here for years and have celiac disease. I’d stick to BBQ or Burgers. No separate facility so stuff like salads might get cross contamination. But they don’t grill the buns, so the meat alone is fine. Haven’t tried the deserts and bread is everywhere! But the staff is very friendly and accommodating. If you’re looking for delicious BBQ, i highly recommend it.
Yes
All meats and bbq are GF. Almost all sides are as well. I had steak with bbq baked beans. BF got mashed potatoes and broccoli. Bbq chicken and ribs looked delish. Waiter seemed confident about little to no chance of cross contamination as no gluten goes on the grill at all. Wish they had GF buns but beggars can’t be choosers.
I’m dairy free and very cautious celiac.
Got the 10oz tri tip (with no BBQ sauce) and chose Idaho baked potato (with no butter) and steamed broccoli, since it comes with two side dishes. Asked for olive oil and put that with salt as my “butter”. Loved every bite. Leaving the place feeling very well.
Yes
I’m celiac and allergic to dairy. I’ve ate here 4-5 times and have never got sick. The food is good and great for the family.
Yes
Very happy when waiter gave us a gluten free menu and said food was prepared separately for our celiac daughter!!
Yes
Staff was knowledgeable. Brought me a separate GF menu with lots of options including all of their BBQ options and most of their sides. Menu states all of their BBQ sauces are GF. I played it safe with a steak and a baked potato. It was delicious and I didn’t get sick!
Yes
There is a GF menu, but ask for both so you get pricing and details. The terrific slaw is GF/DF and soy-free. The trout is very good if you say "no salt." The baked potatoes taste oven cooked as they should. Unfortunately, the quinoa salad is gone, but there is a new Farmer's Salad that includes quinoa.
Yes
fantastic super great care for my celiac needs. the best.
Excellent food, gluten friendly, excellent service!
The food is always excellent and my son with Celiac has never had a reaction.
Yes
Staff was very knowledgeable of the GF menu. Food was fantastic.
All BBQ is gluten free. Never had a reaction there.

Visiting from out of state and my family goes there on occasion. The server was great. I had the spinach and artichoke with celery and carrots. And the tri-tip with original sauce and broccoli.
Yes
They have a larger gluten free menu. We had ribs lots of gf sides to choose from no fries but so many other choices you don't miss them. The ribs and mashed potatoes were excellent. I have celiac and get sick easy but I felt great! We will be back.
Yes
Flour-less chocolate dessert with ice cream. AMAZING! Wonderful staff.
Yes
The GF menu is limited and does not feature any truly Celiac diner friendly items such as GF bread or deserts. The atmosphere and service are good, but your meal will still feel like it is unbalanced, especially as you "remove" items from your dishes.
I love this place! They have a large variety of gf items and ambiance is great. The tri tip and mashed potatoes are my favorite! Yum! Have dined here a few times and haven't experienced any issues :)
Yes
Amazing service and even the manager came out to make sure on what I ordered was good for me. Didn't get sick and food is delicious. Recommend!
Spoke to the manager prior to ordering, she was very knowledgable and well versed in meal preparation and how the cooks accommodated those with gluten issues. She made me feel at ease and comfortable with their establishment. My meal came, the tri-tip, and it was excellent. There are few places that I will eat and Wood Ranch has definitely been added to that list.
Yes
Good food. Undertrained staff. Cross contaminated food (visibly--french fry from a shared fryer in his food that didn't come with fries) with my spouse's meal who is not Celiac but ordered gluten free to share with me. Manager apologized and gave us an amazing GF chocolate cake. Still sketchy. Since I don't have symptoms with cross-contamination, I cannot vouch for safety. Manager agreed that he needed to reiterate safety on the prep line.
Probably an excellent place for GF dieters that are not medically sensitive.
No
Awesome place! I have celiac disease and am lactose intolerant so it's hard to find options. Many gf choices that are also dairy free.
