Gluten-Free at Pepperjax Grill

Ordered online 45 minutes before pick up. 3 employees working and not a single customer in the store. They hadn’t even started my order when we came to pick up 5 minutes after our pick up time. I had stated dairy and gluten allergy. And cheese ended up all through my order. Gluten contamination as well.
Workers took extra care to make a steak rice bowl. Changed gloves, used new spatulas, took extra precautions and clearly explained all the choices.
Not too bad. I would say overall the facility is GF friendly. They use a separate heating device to warm the wheat buns for everyone else and as far as I can tell wheat is not done on the grill that they use to heat the meats and veggies on. My only observation is that at one time during me being in line and waiting for everything to be done the cook used the large spatula they use on the big grill for the main course to help the bun get down the bun warmer discharge chute. I didn't get a reaction or stomach pains from the meal.
While PepperJax Grill doesn’t have a dedicated grill & not all items are gluten free, the bulk of their items are gluten free & this location is very understanding when it comes to allergies.

Arrived for an early dinner when there weren't other customers. Employee at the counter wasn't sure of cross-contamination avoidance procedures, but he checked with the manager who was well-versed. They changed gloves, cleaned the grill, and used clean metal utensils. Most of the items on the menu were gluten-free and the allergen information on the website was detailed. Rice bowl with meat was great, and the staff made the meal for the member of our party with celiac first. Manager indicated the fryer for fries was dedicated.
Had such a good experience at the PepperJax in Ralston (84th and Park). The manager, Spencer, walked me through the entire protocol and was so kind about everything. The whole staff cleaned the entire area and all changed gloves. The manager handled my order start to finish and all food came from the back or fresh tubs from below. Cannot recommend them enough! I had a steak salad and it was delish!
Everything is GF except for buns and fried stuff.

Staff are always good about cleaning the grill, changing gloves and spatulas. Rice bowls are the best and most ingredients and seasonings gluten free.
The staff was very knowledgeable and very accommodating with my Celiac needs! Cleaning grill, changing gloves, utensils and picking toppings from a separate container in the refrigerator. Highly recommend for those with Celiac or gluten sensitivity!
Of course you have to stay away from the phillies but their rice bowls are gluten free. I went in during a lunch rush and was prepared to ask them to clean the grill....I was shocked that in the middle of a lunch rush, with 1 person in front of me, the employees decided to take the time to completely clean off the grill. Woth that said, I didn't even need to ask as they have cleanliness in mind already. I was worried after I got a few bites in that their ranch had gluten but they have an amazing allergen list on their website. No gluten in their amazing ranch! Also, I have been their several times with my friend's kids who get their chicken tender kids meal and noticed the tenders are prepared in a separate fryer then the fries.
This is my safe go to. I always order the rice bowls and gave never had a reaction.
Most of their ingredients are gluten free except the shells, chips and bread. Servers are good about cleaning the grill and changing gloves if you ask and keeping the food away from the bread. The rice bowls are so yummy with fresh ingredients.
They do everything they can to ensure food is safe... cleaning the grill, changing gloves and if there is any questions they check labels. Fries are GF! : )
They really do not have many GF options. When I got there, I asked what I could have that was gluten free and they suggested a dish with a FLOUR tortilla! Then they got the manager who is a little more aware of what gluten is but still had little knowledge of cross contamination. I will say the staff worked hard to do the best they could (spraying and scraping the grill). Otherwise, it is buffet style for toppings which is always scary if you have a gluten allergy. Unfortunately I will not be returning.
Their rice bowl with steak or chicken is delicious! I have never had an episode after eating here. You don't have to tell them you are gluten free because it automatically is. If you want amazing, fast, and delicious food this is the place for you!
The General Manager happened to be the one taking our order. He knew precisely which menu items were gf (all the fillers, the rice bowls, and the salads). He changed his gloves immediately when we asked about gf food and scraped the grill before cooking our food (we didn't have ask). The food was fantastic, the service was unsurpassed, and my celiac husband had no reaction to the food. This will definitely be a location we frequent.
All of it is gluten free except the bread of course and the seasoning on the fries so ask with out but mean and seasoning is good and salsa. Rice bowls are amazing check them out! So glad more options are becoming available.
