Best gf thick crust pizza I’ve had in 15 years of having celiac disease.
Ordered a GF pizza online, it’s decent and had no problems afterwards!

I have had nothing but incredibly pleasant experiences with this chain establishment and have always felt safe and like my Celiac is taken seriously whenever I've gone to any location. However, this location, for over 2 years they've continually under trained their staff in proper food preparation, how to avoid cross contamination with allergens, what gluten even is, and what products may contain gluten and which absolutely don't.. I've got my order wrong so many times here and haven't been able to enjoy their ranch for a year because they had told me it had gluten and they were certain of it. A year later my husband asked and NOBODY on shift knew until an old allergy menu was found by a bus in a drawer and surprise it's gf. I then had to train three employees on what gluten is because they thought milk and eggs in it. If you want to enjoy Barros go to ANY location other than this one.

the gf pizzas are small but delicious! we will definitely go back.
I requested gf garlic bread and they made it from the gf sandwich bread. It was yummy. I chose the special on the thick crust. I was excited to try the thick crust. The pizza was good, but just too much bread. Will come back and try the thin next time. They were very knowledgeable about gf. Even when it came to me requesting garlic bread.

My boyfriend is celiac and even though we specified that he’s celiac and they said they cleaned and sanitized before his pizza was made he got some cross contamination. Not too surprising since it is a pizza place. If you’re extremely sensitive to CC you should avoid this place. They were friendly.

Writing as a severe celiac, I've eaten here and done pickup numerous times and NEVER gotten contaminated... The gf thick crust doesn't look gf, but it's incredible and a much needed improvement to their old pizza crust :) This is probably the only, reliable, delicious pizza place I eat at.

We have been eating here about once a week with my very sensitive, celiac brother for the last few years and have never had an issue! They just added an additional gluten-free crust option, so now people can choose between thin and thick gf crust (the thick crust in particular is awesome; the first time we tried it we could hardly believe it was gf!). Just make sure to say that you have issues with cross-contamination so they can take the necessary protocols.

My sensitive celiac daughter has eaten here 6+ times and has never gotten sick (this rarely happens when eating from supposedly safe gluten free menus in other restaurants). Their new thicker gluten free crust is AMAZING! And their high quality cheese is to die for. They prep the gluten free pizzas in the walk-in with fresh ingredients to avoid the risk of cross contamination. We have most of our family parties here because the restaurant is spacious with more of a nicer restaurant feel than a just a pizza joint & they have large room in the back with TVs, long tables, and a small play area for the kids (a play kitchen with play food, blocks, and such). We LOVE Barro's SO MUCH!!!!!!!

The thick crust is delicious! The pizzas come on a piece of parchment and I have not gotten sick the 3 times I have ordered it. Also for a gluten-free pizza the cost is not too bad.

They have 2 gf crusts-ask for thick crust. Amazing! This place and Charred Pie are my 2 favoritos gf pizza places in this area. Totally different, this one has thick crust, Charred- wood fired thin, but both great.
Very good pizza and salad, both GF and regular. Choice of crust thickness too!

Good pizza, I couldn’t even tell it was gluten free because the crust was really good for gf! I wish they labeled the boxes a bit better but it was pretty good pizza overall!

Ordered a gluten free pizza but was sick immediately. I think it was cross contamination as the crust seemed to be gluten free. Would not recommend if you have celiac.

This is my local Barros. We get the gf cheese pizza for my celiac daughter almost once every other week for several years. She has never been sick or felt poorly after eating it. In fact, we often grab this for her to take to other restaurants that we are not comfortable having her eat at. Highly recommend (at least this location) for gf pizza.

Very knowledgeable! Ordered two gluten free pizzas they prepped separately and also cut it with a separate cutter. I explained I was celiac and the guy on the phone assured he would be utmost careful! Also the pizza was delicious and reasonable price.

I would skip; the pizza crust was like a cross between a cracker and parchment paper. Don’t have much to say about safety etc.

Location is permanently closed.
Ordered the antipasto salad (no croutons), wings, & the gluten free pizza. I was informed that they prepare the pizzas separately; put parchment under the pizza when cooking; & use a separate cutter. They also have gf bread for sandwiches (Smart flour brand). Will be back! 😋

The best GF pizza dough!! If you ask, they'll cook your pizza on parchment paper which helps decrease the cross contamination. Not celiac safe. I used to be okay eating here but recently got symptoms while eating here.

Got gf pizza there last night. When it arrived the toppings were all slid to one half of the pizza and it was not cut at all. After "fixing" it to be able to eat it, I spent most of my night suffering severe intestinal pain.... Not sure what they are doing there, but it's definitely NOT gf. 0/10 would recommend.

Busy little place with absolute fantastic pizza. There is build your own pizza and some options. Crust is better than Udi's and cooked until crispy. They make sure to keep everything separated from the gluten area. Line things with cardboard and wax paper. If I'm in the area again, I will come back. Better to call and pickup than wait an hour for pizza.

The girl taking our order went over all their cross contamination prevention procedures, what a relief! They have a separate prep area, separate toppings, and separate cutters. My daughter and I both have celiac and had zero reactions! Her pizza with no sauce (olive oil instead) was crispier than mine that had sauce. Overall it’s a great option for local gf pizza! Can’t beat the price either!

I ordered their gluten free pizza and immediately felt sick a few hours afterwards. Luckily, I don't think I ate too much gluten, but I believe that it was likely from cross contamination. Other than that the staff was very kind and the establishment was clean, but if you are celiac you may not want to eat here!

Beware if you have allergies.. Ordered 3 gluten & dairy free pizzas. As I am pregnant and have a severe anaphylactic reaction to dairy, I made sure to express the importance of flagging these allergies, and making sure they was absolutely no cheese on the pizzas, multiple times. This could be fatal to both me, and my child. Got home only to realize that there was cheddar cheese all over my “guaranteed dairy free” pizza. Drove all the way back, and this isn’t a quick drive for me, just to have them offer a “whoops, I guess that does have dairy” and to remake one of them, because the other two were “probably fine”. Had to convince them to remake all three pizzas, as “probably fine” doesn’t work for me when my life is literally on the line. Very unprofessional, and I will not be back.

This used to be good, not anymore. I got glutened at the last two Barro's I ate at - I'm done with them. There are plenty of other great pizza options in the Phoenix area.

Nicely done Barro's. My husband brought me home a pizza for the first time in 10 years. The receipt clearly noted gf. My service dog cleared the pizza as gf. It was also delicious. Thanks for my first take out pizza in eons!
The phone number and map attached to this are incorrect. Check and make sure that you want to go to Higley and Queen Creek.
