super disappointed! Shared toaster, shared griddle for pancakes/waffles, shared fryer—a nightmare for those sensitive to cross contamination. I got eggs/bacon/untoasted bread, I won’t be coming back here again
(also, when our waitress asked the chef about shared surfaces, he said that the heat kills gluten…nope)
GF menu was just a paper stating substitutions you can make to make somethings GF but it wasn’t very comprehensive. I asked the waitress if omelets can be GF. She said she didn’t know so it was better not to order it - instead of going back and asking the cooks. I got the GF strawberry and salted caramel waffle. Waffle was not very good. I forced down half because I was hungry. I’ve had gf waffles at restaurants before that were amazing so I know it can be done.
We had brunch here and the server seemed pretty knowledgeable. She warned us that the potatoes are fried in the same fryer as other things, so those are cross contaminated. But everything else was fine to eat. We had GF waffles, pancakes, and other breakfast items, and they have GF options for English muffins, toast, etc.
Complete disaster. Asked for a gluten free menu or if she knew any options. She said I could get a gluten free waffle or pancake or toast. No GF menu or options. It was dinner time. Ugh. Settled on the prime rib sandwich on GF bun. Came with fries and then when delivered I asked if they were GF. She went to the kitchen and came back and said no. Just no concept.
Wow I don't even know where to start. They had GF marked on the menu but I had to specify no toast on the side. The waitress said oh we have gluten free bagels do you want that? I said yes, but not toasted because I have an allergy and there's gluten all over toasters. Generally I avoid toasters and order GF bread un toasted in other restaurants. So she brings out the GF bagel and says oh sorry the chef said it would taste terrible not toasted so they toasted it. I was not sure what to say. It did not cost extra so whatever. Won't be going back
They do not have items marked GF on the menu, but the staff has been very knowledgeable and helpful at every visit. They have GF pancakes, french toast, and bread. Potatoes are not GF because of cross contamination. Cheesy Grits are gluten free and very good. Once we told our server it was due to celiacs/allergy, she informed us that the kitchen would take extra time to ensure there wouldn't be any cross contamination. Highly recommended.
Dined in for breakfast this morning and had the Huevos Rancheros. It came with an option for a GF bagel, or GF pancake. I asked how the bagel was toasted, and the server said they do no have a dedicated toaster for the bagel. She then said they could heat in a clean pan, and I said ok. Although the main dish was delicious, I def got glutened. Guessing it might have been the bagel? Def had some cross contamination somewhere.
I had a great meal today! They have GF markings on the menu and replaced the bread with GF bagels as my side. Had the cheesy grits as well. The waitress was helpful and mindful of my allergy.
Staff is eager to help and knows about Celiac. The first time that my husband and I went the server told us that almost the entire menu could be modified to be gluten free. (However, we've since found out that their menu is about to change, so hopefully the new menu will be just as accommodating.) Thanks to one of the other Find Me Gluten Free reviewers, I had the GF Stuffed French Toast. (They substitute a GF bagel - flavor of your choice. I chose the cinnamon raisin.) It was delicious!
Very accommodating of my gluten allergy. They made sure to alert the kitchen and cook everything separately.
Went for breakfast, the pancakes were good and the orange juice from fresh squeezed
Online they have a legend with a marker for things that can be made gluten free, but the menu in house and online were void of any items marked with it. I asked about a GF menu and was told they don’t have one but that the waitress could list them, and she did, all bread products that are GF but no info on the actual menu items. I asked about egg dishes and was told “You’re asking the wrong person”, she then went away to ask and came back and said eggs are ok but at that point I was playing 20 questions. She said if I needed for them to exclude the butter to make the dish safe they could… ummm seriously? I asked about the potatoes and she said they weren’t safe and I should avoid them so they didn’t try to kill me. I had no feeling of safety so I left before ordering. A different waitress, or speaking with a manager, or better marking of the menu may have made that a completely different experience, but as it was we burned a 20 minute wait for nothing.
My 13 year old has celiacs (She also has severe food reactions to dairy, egg, and coconut. However, can have eggs cooked in things as well as butter.)
She got the GF French toast, GF toast, and bacon and loved it!
We do quite a bit of traveling and I'm always a bit nervous. They did a great job!
PS - did you know there is now a gluten tester called Nima?! You can use that to be sure.
I called to place an order- Jason was EXTREMELY helpful! Like someone else stated, he mentioned that the potatoes use a shared fryer. The omelettes are cooked with oil (not butter, for DF). They even have three different GF bagel flavors (plain, cinnamon, everything). Great experience- makes me feel comfortable eating here!!
I asked them for something sweet and gluten free. They made a custom “stuffed French toast” using a gluten free cinnamon bagel!
I had the corned beef hash which came with breakfast potatoes, eggs and fresh fruit of berries and melon. The potatoes are fried in the same fryer but I talked to the executive chef and he says he can boil them in water instead and then could sauté so they will not be cross contaminated.
They also have turkey sausage and turkey bacon. It is uncured and no fillers.
They have fresh squeezed orange and grapefruit juices
The chicken is Coleman brand and antibiotic free.
Separate waffle maker for gf waffles and they clean the grill very often and will clean grill before making your pancakes if requested.
I would call the chef out to the table because the waiter was not up to date on the particulars.
Overall it was a great experience!
They also use free range omega 3 eggs.
This location is always slow. Servers and hosts have no interest in helping you. Go to Leesburg for really good GF service. Centerville is okay. We will NEVER go to this location again.
This place has been great about hearing their customer’s GF needs and making adjustments. They offer GF flatbread now, as well as GF waffles. It’s so nice to find places that want to give their GF customers interesting food and not just salad.
Great GF omelette with a GF bagel on side. Knowledgeable wait staff. Was told there’s a notice to the kitchen for gluten allergies. Wait staff even pointed out potatoes are fried in the same fryer as gluten products & served separately (or replaced).
The food here is amazing, unfortunately however, there aren't many gluten free or dairy free options (or other allergies). For gluten free you can do eggs or a salad, with one or two other main dish options (which all have dairy). The waitstaff is very friendly and willing to assist to try and accommodate, but the options are just limited.
Decent gluten free menu- my favorite is Eggs Benedict on polenta!
