Barbecue sauce is gluten-free
Winner, winner chicken wing dinner! Smoked chicken wings are great!! Tender, flavorful and moist with a light char grilled outside. Wango tango sauce was great addition to the wings. Coleslaw was good not great and the greens(collards and mustard)only had smoked turkey so my pork allergy wasn’t an issue. Brisket was ok not phenomenal but decent. I’m a mesquite bbq snob so getting a celebratory great out of me is darn near impossible. The slathering sauce was also good. Waitress was compassionate, eager to clarify and brought us the allergen menu in addition to the gluten free menu. The food came quickly and accurately. We also were pleasantly surprised when we bought a bottle of wango tango sauce and it was only $3.99. Well worth the price and we had assumed it would be much higher. Good on them for not taking advantage. Parking is free on street after 5pm and we were told there was a free lot behind the restaurant but didn’t see it. Well be back.
Separate GF menu. The wait staff assured me that they were knowledgeable about cross contamination and that I could have a completely GF meal. I had 1/4 slab of ribs with coleslaw and bbq baked beans. It was brought out separate from my husband’s regular meal by the manager. It was delicious and I didn’t get sick.
Great place to get a bbq meal! The gf menu is a bit weak though. It’s pretty much just their regular menu except half of it is missing because you can’t eat it. They have a section called “bunless sandwiches” which kind of felt like a rip off. It would have been great to have a gf roll or Cornbread or something. Overall I had a great meal, but I think they could do more with the options.
Perhaps the best St Louis ribs I've ever had, plus yummy pulled pork and great wings. The chili was phenomenal and my husband's said the mashed potatoes were the best he's ever had. Full gluten free menu, no gluten free buns but your definitely here for the meat. They also had red bridge and angry orchard. Staff was well versed in gluten free options and service. Good was carried out separately to prevent cross contamination. Awesome.
UPDATE: I went here again and after discussing my situation as a celiac with the server and asking about cross contamination etc, I was nevertheless served a plate with corn bread (that's made with wheat flour) on it. I was super polite but asked them to please take it back and make a new one -- not to just remove the bread and re-serve, because that would make me sick. Unfortunately that's exactly what happened. I trusted that the server was taking care of me (he seemed super earnest), so was half-way through eating my meal before I saw the cornbread crumbs still stuck on my plate. Of course I got super sick for the next week and it was totally avoidable. I feel like it's possible the server intentionally decided that he just didn't give a f*** about my health and safety and would re-serve because I "wouldn't notice". Super upsetting because the owner is cool and seems to care -- but at busy periods like before a Devil's game, the staff either isn't trained safely or just doesn't give a s***. I won't go back after that -- not worth rolling the dice. :( ORIGINAL REVIEW: These folks really took care of me. I mentioned I was celiac and asked if the staff changes their gloves etc. They have a separate area where GF food is prepared and they take it really seriously. Later the manager came out and mentioned his daughter is gluten free and they follow cross contamination procedures in their house to keep her safe. I will definitely be back and really appreciated these folks. Plus the brisket is delicious. ;)
Despite some recent negative reviews, I gave Dino a shot. I went for lunch while it wasn't busy and sat at the bar. The bartender seemed knowledgeable; she knew to ask if I wanted a cider, not a beer. My food came on a different colored plate and the server paid close attention to what they were doing. I felt comfortable.
I had an awesome experience here! We stopped by on our way to Niagara Falls. The staff was great, they brought me a separate menu and my food was brought out by a different person on a different colored plate. definitley felt safe here!
I placed a takeout order over the phone and told them I was ordering from the gluten free menu and that my daughter had celiac disease. When we brought the food home we saw they put cornbread on top of my daughter's entree. We called the restaurant and they told us the cornbread wasn't gluten free. Won't be going back.
I️ visited last night. All sauces and rubs are gluten free. No “hidden” gluten in anything. So basically the only way to be contaminated is if you you get something breaded. Or battered. Fries are gf. They have the most amazing potato salad and brisket.
This is the type of place that has good intentions, but poor execution. I told the waitress I was gluten free, but when my plate came there was a big piece of cornbread on it. We've also ordered takeout and gotten mixed reviews on which items were and were not gluten free. If you are looking for great BBQ, Try PJ's in Saratoga. They are great.
They have some decent options and a well marked menu. But they've messed up (given me corn bread with to go orders, forgotten to tell the kitchen about my allergy, etc) half the times that I've been there. Not worth the hassle/risk for celiacs
SO GOOD! Most of the meats and sides are gluten free, waitress was very knowledgeable and accommodating. Everyone was so nice and food was delicious. Had wings and plater of brisket, ribs and pulled pork with mashed potatoes and baked beans. All delicious and my non celiac family had sandwiches they loved. Could not recommend more. Great atmosphere, great food!
Great selection and knowledgeable staff. When my plate first came out, it had a piece of cornbread on it. However, I think they set some kind of record because they served the correct plate within the minute. I wish I had a stopwatch, it was fast. They comped my drink after the mistake and I was dining with 8 other people, so I can forgive them.
The wife has celiac's and was able to enjoy some excellent pulled pork (the rubs on the pork are GF). She was able to get a salad (be careful though, not all dressings are GF) and mashed potatoes as sides. The meal turned out great and the waitress was very knowledgeable in the precautions necessary. I'm not sure if this is standard protocol now but the GF meals are all plated in red plates where normal meals are plated on blue. I've dined here before but never with my celiac wife. Reading some of the recent reviews worried me, but we were pleasantly surprised and as always the food was fantastic.
The food is really good and I love the staff but I got glutened here. I really can't say enough for how good the food is! They do have a few gf options at the bar, so if you're going to listen to a band, you've got choices there.
A great option and good food. Separate gluten-free menu, and they take cross-contamination seriously. Their daily specials are often also gluten free. Our party had 3 people with Celiac disease, and they were kind, courteous, and very helpful during the entire ordering process. When they brought the food out the manager also came out to explain their whole process for avoiding cross-contamination. I've eaten here twice now and it's been great each time. Portions are huge, sauces on the wings are great, and wait staff is friendly.
Separate gluten free menu with lots of options. My plate was a different color than the normal ones so the kitchen staff knew to be careful with avoiding cross-contamination, and it was brought out separately, which I appreciated. Delicious barbeque!
