Gluten-Free at Oath Pizza

Take-out only - they have a few tables outside and the weather was perfect. We got there right when it opened (ovens were still heating up) simply because we needed to get ready for the wedding. Ordered a basic cheese pizza with half pepperoni to share with my daughter. Was tasty, but not the best ever. Was pricey, but more importantly, was safe. Bill was over $40 for our GF pizza, my husband got a regular specialty pizza, a rice krispy treat (LOVE that they carried Sweet Street Desserts), and a can of seltzer.

Finally, a safe place to get a GF pizza! The price is steeper than your average pizza joint, but the peace of mind was well worth the price difference. Knowledgeable staff & zero gluten issues. I’ll definitely be back! Pros: Specialty pizzas are fantastic! I highly recommend the Bella. The GF pizza crust was the closest to a regular crust as I have tasted in years. There are a variety of toppings to choose from, including GF and vegetarian options, so there is something for everyone. Downside: GF crust is only available on personal pizzas, which made our group gathering less economical. Parking is rough during peak hours, but that’s NOVA.

I wanted to order through doordash but was concerned that the app wouldn’t let me leave a celiac note/instructions. I called the restaurant and the staff that answered the phone was very familiar with necessary protocols, when I said I had celiac and needed to eat gluten free, he explained that they would make it in the back in a separate area and use fresh ingredients to prevent cross contact. He also said they serve a lot of ppl with celiac and they can prepare safely for me. I gave them my name and he said he’d keep an eye out for my order so they could take proper care when preparing.

Pizza arrived and it was good. I hadn’t tried the banza crust before but it was good, my gluten eating husband actually liked it too (he’s normally not a fan of gf pizza crust but eats it anyways for me). We both really enjoyed the pizza, we’ll get it again.

Went here for the first time yesterday and it was a great experience. I ordered my pizza on the gluten free crust they offer (Banza brand). Told them I have an allergy so they changed gloves then went to the back to make my pizza with fresh ingredients. Will definitely be back again!

Picked up pizzas on our way to a show at Jiffy Lube so we could chill in the parking lot and enjoy some pizza after the show. Even cold, this pizza was incredible! A lot of options, and high praise from everyone in our group!

Terrible. There website is confusing and implied GF was available on personal pizzas but then never made it clear as you ordered. I put a note in flagging it for gluten free but they must have ignored. Celiac daughter (10) got real ill last night. Last time I try oath. Beware!

First time eating at Oath — by far the best Gf crust I’ve ever had!!! Not crispy cardboard like most. I alerted the staff that I’m celiac and they prepped my food in a separate area with fresh gloves. All toppings are GF. One personal size pizza was plenty so I can’t speak to any other food on the menu. I do recall a GF dessert option that was individually wrapped. Great for both vegetarians and meat eaters, and even has vegan options. This place is super accommodating

The most affordable (and delicious) GF pizza around! They use banza GF crust and I believe all toppings are gluten free. The manager was knowledgeable about celiac and they baked the GF pizzas on a separate trays and used separate toppings, gloves, etc. for allergy orders. I didn’t get sick and the pizza is great - banza chickpea crust is wayyy better than cauliflower crust!

Staff knew exactly what needed to be done for gf. She used separate gloves, pizza was taken from separate fridge and they put it in its own tray. They also had separate utensils to use (there was one labeled gluten free and one labeled vegan). Felt very comfortable. She mentioned they had an employee who was also celiac so kept a close eye on how they did everything. Happy to have a quick and easy option in South Station! Even was able to get a half pizza, which was a perfect snack.

This location is very strong on GF. Our son has celiac and we have gotten a dozen pizzas from here since it opened with no adverse effects. The crust is different from their trademark G crust of course but it is more than adequate - thin and crispy but not too crispy, and the toppings are fresh. We usually get no toppings or very limited for my son so it’s worth paying attention and asking questions if you like a lot of toppings, about the potential for cross contamination.

The pizza is good, but there’s one employee that ruins it all. I went out with my friends today and ordered a gluten free pizza. Even though my order specifically said “Gluten free” on it, the employee made a regular pizza for me. I was doubtful that the pizza was really GF (it looked the same as my friends’), but when I asked the serving employee she said yes. I ate two slices and realized something was wrong, gave a piece of the pizza to my friend to compare to his, and he said they tasted the same. I asked another employee, and he said it wasn’t gluten free, and that it probably got swapped with one of my friends’. No apologies. And it wasn’t “swapped”. All three pizzas were regular ones. They did offer to make me another GF pizza for my money’s worth (which I obviously took), but I was so angry at the employee for messing it up. Luckily, I’m only intolerant and not celiac, but I’m still experiencing an intense allergic reaction. That employee’s attitude was careless, ignorant, and lazy. She honestly should be fired, or they shouldn’t have the option of gluten free pizzas in the first place. It’s sad, because the GF pizza is actually pretty quality for what it is. That one employee, in one meal, just ruined it all for me. Such lack of respect and ignorance towards gluten intolerance and celiacs.

Great pizza with no cross contamination issues. We will be back

Ordered over the phone after popping in earlier in the day to ask about cross contamination etc. knowledgeable staff. Tasty pizza- but for that much money the size should be larger than 11”. If you have lots of money to throw at little pizzas go for it!

Always get a great gf pizza here. They have a gf base and all gf toppings are clearly marked. And such great service 😊

If you are looking for train station pizza that is what you’ll get. It’s great that there is a GF option on the go, but I had higher expectations for an “artisanal” pizza place. Toppings were good but on an Udis crust, which gets the job done just not appetizing. Bertuccis chain is better with a cauliflower crust.

My GF pizza was prepared at a separate area using the ingredients from the fridge, not the prep line. It went in through the oven on a special sheet. I had no issues at all and loved being able to get a pizza at the same time as my family.

They are very careful. The staff is knowledgeable, the pizza is delicious. We love our pizza with olives, aïoli, Basil, vegan cheese, white beans, pineapple, etc. We always make our own pizza with all the stuffing that is in a separate area for the gluten-free toppings. Make sure you ask for them to take the ingredients from the dedicated gluten-free area. I always ask because you never know when there is a new employee.

Really delicious gluten free crust but I've felt sick the past two times eating there

The gluten free crust here is pretty good and I've eaten here several times without a reaction, but I do think there's probably some risk of cross contamination. I haven't gone back since the time I received a gluten pizza instead of the gluten free crust (luckily recognized it since I'd ordered from there before). It was busy and mistakes happen but that's a pretty big mistake, and was extra frustrating since I didn't realize until I'd brought the pizza home.

Really good pizza and super friendly staff. Salad is typical diner style -- nothing special and mostly iceberg but that's to be expected in this type of place.

What a convenient spot on the go for us GF people. Highly recommend if you’re a fellow pizza lover!

Unlike previous reviews, I have had great experiences at this location. Always change gloves, utensils and get toppings from the back when asked. They cook the pizza in the same oven as gluten filled pizza, but the pizza is on it’s on gluten free rack and does not go in at the same time as other pizzas as they cook so quickly. One of my favorite pizza places

Had to ask them multiple times to be careful with gloves and utensils. At all other locations, they’ve taken it seriously, this one just seems to have an attitude.

Delicious gluten free crust, and it’s even the same size as the regular pizza! Knowledge staff, changes gloves if you answer yes to, “is that an allergy?” All pizzas are prepared on their own surface.

We deal with multiple allergies including wheat and have had no issues here.

Have not been in recently but the last time I went I was not impressed with the segregation of toppings and was very concerned with cross contamination from the same toppings being used on the glutenous and gluten free pizzas. I was told by staff that the did not recommend the pizzas for “severe” gluten free allergies/sensitivities. Food tasted good but I haven’t been back. Especially given that it is in a busy area and has a college student crowd, I am personally much more comfortable going to flatbreads where they prepare the gf pizzas in a separate area of the restaurant with separate toppings.

All pizzas can be GF. Also has Daita vegan Cheese available.update: oven is a rapid air blown convection oven so crumbs from gluten pizza may be blowing around on GF pizza.
