I have eaten here several times and have not gotten sick. My favorite is their breakfast hamburger (without the bun). Good options and they know what I'm talking about when I say the word gluten. Does not have a dedicated kitchen however they take good precautions. Good GF menu available.
They can make you "gluten free" items. They cannot however, make anything without serious cross contamination. On the number of occasions I have gone wth friends or family, I have asked each time about their process for prepping a gluten free meal before I attempt to order anything. All food is prepared on the same surface with the same utensils. I have heard that other Perkin's have a great understanding of celiac and prep requirements, but unfortunately that just isn't the case with this one. According to family that are not gf though and can actually eat when they go here, the food at this location is good and the service is usually good. I have to base my rating off of how gluten free friendly they are though, so they get a 1 out of 5 from me. They try to have options but they just don't have the training or ability to properly prepare these options safely.
I ate for the seond time at the local Perkins. Had no problems at all and I have celiac. The manager assured me they take extra care to avoid cross contamination. Their gluten free menu has a disclaimer but I have not found a restaurant yet that does not. The frittata was delicious.
We are visiting from out of town and it was near our hotel. They have a seperate gluten free menu and when I had a question about an entree, the manager came over and made sure my questions were thoroughly answered. I had the salmon with garden salad and steamed broccoli and felt great afterwards - and it was delicious!
Although they did not have a Gluten-free menu, the waitress knew every item that was gluten free. She stood at my table and helped me determine what I could get. Best restaurant I've been to as far as catering to my gluten free needs.
Ordered breakfast and brought it home. They left out part of the order which we didn't catch till we were home. Within 20 minutes of eating (ordered scrambled eggs and smoked sausage which were both on their GF/Gluten sensitive menu) the stomach cramps started and the other associated symptoms
bad bad bad I ordered steak madilions and mushrooms off the gluten free options list. my plate came out with bread on it. so I had to wait for them to remake it.
They do have a Gluten Free Menu now. I was able to bring home a copy w me. Any breakfast meat is GF as well as the eggs unlike IHOP who adds Pancake batter to them to make them fluffy. I can actually have Hash browns as well! Lots of choices for lunch & dinner too. i've never had any issues eating here. Yum! Breakfast! Love the ham & bacon omelette!!!!
I didn't expect a gluten free menu here so I was pleasantly surprised when the hostess retrieved one from the back. They had the standard gf breakfast fare -- omelettes, bacon, hash browns. Their sausage is listed as gf, too. They listed two gf dinner entrees: grilled pork and steak medallions. Unfortunately, they no longer serve the steak medallions, so I ordered the farmers omelette. They have a few salads, tomato basil soup, and a number of sides listed on the gf menu. The mashed potatoes are gf. I was underwhelmed by the portion sizes (hash browns were about 1/4 cup), but the meal was tasty and I didn't get sick.
Gluten free & Wheat Free Menu -however it says right on the menu this is not recommended for those with Celiac. I've been there twice, the first time I was fine. However the second time I was glutened and it took days to recover.
Manager was so knowledgeable about What my child could and could not have. All their omelette items are gf so she had ham omelette and fruit. She could not have chunk potatoes because of coating but could have shredded potatoes. Went back two days later and manager remembered my order and got the same thing. Never got sick.
Average family restaurant with some gluten free options
