Bamboo Sushi

One of my favorite places to eat GF 🩷 The only gluten they have there is the bun on the burger - they only have tamari sauce no soy sauce used. AMAZING. Couldn’t recommend more 🍣🧡

Excellent food, extravagantly gracious about food sensitivities and allergies. Only two items with gluten on the menu. I had shrimp tempura for the first time in forever and it was delicious. They were kind about me bringing my own sauce because of a no acid diet and even inquired( nicely) what was in it. [fish sauce. sesame oil. coconut aminos]

We had the most glorious time. Ninety five percent of the kitchen is already gluten free. This time my husband had the Green machine with Albacore tuna on top. I had the same roll with crab. Must say that the service is outstanding. Rorce is very good at suggesting the best choices and still keeping the perfect amount of distance. The icing on the top the manager Logan! It's hard to eat when you are laughing so hard. This was only our second time, but between him and the glorious food it was a no brainer for lunch today.

They only have tamari on the table! You can eat all the sushi things you can’t eat at other places: tempura, karage, eel, etc. great service and drinks. Happy hour is fantastic. We rolled in on a birthday and ordered the entire happy hour menu and everything was on point.

Love Bamboo so much. All sushi, including tempura bits, is gluten-free. (And only gf soy sauce on tables.) I think they have one non-GF burger, but it’s prepared separately. Staff is very knowledgable about Celiac.

Several years ago I was glutened twice here and avoided it until last night after reading several safe recent reviews. I got takeout of tempura shrimp, rainbow, and tuna rolls as well as chicken kaarage and it was all beautifully presented even in take out containers, tasted great, and I did not get sick. Will definitely order here again now.

This place is one of my favorite in Portland. There are only about 3 items on the menu that contain gluten (burgers...it's the buns). The bliss of being able to eat tempura and crispy rice and kani at a sushi restaurant without having to worry is unmatched. And I've never had a disappointing meal. Delicious food without fear of contamination is always a winner in my book.

Love these rolls. I seem to do pretty well with this place. No reaction. Almost everything is gluten-free. They have 2 items with gluten (the burgers) that are prepared in a separate area. I’ve eaten here a lot. Love it! Especially the Ocean Farmer, Friday the 13th (you can have tempura! Which is a treat!) and the salmon! Some rolls have GF soy - can get rolls without soy. Pretty knowledgeable. They also sometimes have coconut aminos if asked.

I felt unwell in a gluteny way immediately after eating here, but am not sure why. As others note the menu is mostly GF. We had veggie tempura, fried cauliflower, some sushi, cucumber salad, shishitos. I had a searing neck headache when I got to the car, later calmly threw up 2/3 of my meal, then fell asleep without noticing at 9 pm. This makes me suspect gluten.

5 stars for gluten handling, but took one off for price /quantity. Sushi was excellent, tasty, and tender, but very small. Great on gluten, they have Tamari sauce on all the tables, all rolls and even tempura is GF.

Celiac friendly?

Everything except three things on the menu is gluten free. Delicious food, already have Tamari on the table. Delicious food but it is pricey.

I have Celiac and I can’t get enough of this place! First place I’ve found with gluten free tempura. I’ve eaten here regularly and never been sick. Please try the avocado tempura, it’s so amazing! Staff is great with questions and everything is clearly labeled.

I’ve never had such amazing options at a sushi restaurant, everything, except 3 items is gluten free, including their soy sauce and tempura. It was so fun getting to have tempura! Went with non-gf friends who found it was exceptional food as well.

Except for the bun on the hamburger the entire menu is gluten free. Excellent food with outstanding staff & service. We love their food, always safe, plenty of delicious offerings besides sushi which we don’t partake. We have eaten there many times and taken friends who are not GF who love eating at Bamboo Sushi too. Our favorites are the cucumber salad, spicy & sweet cauliflower with cashew nuts, a white fish served grilled with an orange broth & shrimp tempura!!! Everything on the menu is memorable. It is our favorite restaurant, at a fun venue to visit!

Wow is all I can say. Literally everything is gluten free Had the salmon role, Bamboo Dragon too with Shrimp tempura, and California roll. Staff very knowledgeable. Just the best ever
