this is my safe place! almost everything here is gluten free except a few items off of the kids menu & the majority of desserts. I usually get a few tacos or a rice bowl & chips & guac. every person I’ve spoke to is knowledgeable on what you can & can’t have & it makes me feel so comfortable!
I had an amazing lunch at this place!! When we sat down, the server went over the whole menu with us and said how they are a celiac-friendly restaurant. Basically everything on the menu is gluten free (including separate fryers), and the only items with gluten are clearly labeled on the menu.
We got nojitos, chips and guac, the ahi tuna rice bowl, and the duck/pork belly/ribeye/chorizo tacos. The duck tacos were so amazing that we actually ordered extras halfway through our meal because we wanted more.
Didn’t get sick at all, staff was very knowledgeable, and food was 10/10. If I lived here, I would absolutely come back.
I have gotten sick here on 3 separate occasions. Do not recommended for a highly sensitive symptomatic celiac. They always assure me that they are able to meet my accommodations, yet I still end up sick for days after. I am unsure of their kitchen practices, I am assuming they are unsafe and there is cross-contact happening. Everything I order and eat should be gluten free, which is why I think it is due to cross-contact. Will not be going back here again.
Fantastic. Separate gf menu but it really isn’t needed as almost all mains and entrees are gf (and lots of df options too). My wife loved it and loved not having to worry about the food. Only items that had gluten were desserts and the quesadilla on the kids menu. Several options, like warm lobster tacos, had dairy. But there was also a cold lobster taco option. We had a great time.
Wow!!! This place is amazing! Pretty much everything is gluten free. They label the gluten containing items. I had the pork belly (amazing), ribeye, warm lobster, and the duck. My favorite were the ones recommended by the staff, which were the duck and pork belly. So good! Felt great after eating here and would definitely go back.
So many gf options and everything is delicious!! We went multiple times as a group and got crispy shrimp tacos (our favorite), buttered lobster taco, pork belly (amazing), kale Caesar salad (yes the crunchy croutons on top are gf), ribeye bowl and taco, and the lobster bowl (more on the spicy side). I got the watermelon basil smash drink and it was very good. My sister and I both have celiac and neither of us got sick the times we have gone! This has been our favorite restaurant on our trips to Nashville. 10/10 would absolutely recommend to anyone!
I eat here all the time, and they do a great job keeping me safe! I am sensitive to cross contamination, and they are always so careful. The food is delicious, the staff is amazing, and it’s in a really fun area to walk around. They have a dedicated gluten free fryer for chips AND their fried fish. I love the Baja fish tacos - they are so good, and it’s hard to find GF fried fish tacos anywhere else. It’s a great restaurant and great for celiac!
Celiac safe, but extremely overpriced. They do $3-4 street tacos which are about 2-3 bites each. The only thing remotely worth the cost was the chicken rice bowl which was filling but bland, only including brown rice, lightly seasoned verde chicken, and raw bell pepper slices. Basically a $10 bowl of rice with a half cup of chicken. It tastes good, but be prepared for an annoying online ordering experience on your phone and a large check if you’re with a large party.
So so yummy, I got the cauliflower bowl and it was very good. Almost everything is GF, the staff is knowledgeable about it all. Separate fryer and grill for gluten-containing items, so I felt safe. Menu has items with gluten marked.
I contacted them before going to see how they handle GF orders and cross-contamination. Here’s the response:
“Thanks so much for reaching out to us! We take allergies very seriously at bartaco.
While our menu is almost entirely gluten-free, you can check out all nutritional/allergy information for specific items at bartaco.com/nutrition. To handle allergies, we follow standard protocols of changing gloves, washing hands, changing tongs, and wiping counters and trays before assembling tacos and not tacos when we are preparing allergy tickets.
When you visit, we suggest you make a team member aware of your allergy prior to your meal as well so they can best assist your requirements and ensure your safety.
Wishing you all the best and please let me know if you have any questions,
Jessica”
Great experience! Everything is gluten free except kids quesadillas and desserts (though actually you can get gelato in a cup too). Our table shared some ceviche and guacamole and chips and I had the fish, pork belly and shrimp tacos (warning: that one is spicy!) The Baja taco was my favorite and I got a pomegranate limonada drink which was amazing too! Highly recommend.
I don't think there is anything I can say about this place that hasn't already been said. I went there last night and it was amazing! I had the fried fish taco, pork belly and grilled shrimp tacos. Two of each, to be exact! I loved the fact that the app let me to note my food allergies and it was wonderful not having to constantly ask "Is this gluten free?" I can't wait to eat here again.
Omg! They are the most accommodating restaurant I’ve been to in quite some time. The entire restaurant is gluten free however I have other allergies in addition to gluten. They went through EVERY item on the menu to see what I could eat. Amazing service! The best restaurant! And the food was fantastic! Thank you Bartaco!
Great place! Staff was amazing and explained what I couldn’t have(only 4 things). They also told me that they take allergies and celiac very seriously and take extra measures to make sure you have a good experience. Not to mention, the food was outstanding! I would definitely feel good about going here again.
Had a great lunch here! Almost the entire menu is gluten free - they actually mark what HAS gluten vs what is without. I got esquites which was just okay but the tacos were great. Duck taco was delish, pork belly was amazing, and the brussel sprouts it taco was surprisingly my favorite!
I’ve enjoyed going to Bar Taco for years, long before I needed to go gluten free; so happy to be able to still go somewhere I’ve always liked. Everything on the menu is gluten-free except for a few dessert items. The tacos and drinks are delicious, service is quick and friendly. Also recommend the plantains and street corn. Not too busy, but you can make a reservation or snag a waitlist spot online.
