Unfortunately had a really disappointing experience. I asked the waiter about cross contamination, and it took a few tries for us to get on the same page. He also told me that some items on the menu marked as GF were no longer GF (“oh yeah, we need to update the menus, we put bread in that now”). I didn’t feel great the next few days, which could be for other reasons, but nevertheless I don’t think it is safe for Celiacs. Maybe it depends on the day or maybe it was better in the past, but it doesn’t seem like they really take it that seriously or train their staff. For whatever it’s worth they do have good food and non-GF guests that I was with really loved it.

Good food, many gluten free options, but the day after I'm feeling like shit, I don't think is really celiac friendly

Our waitress, Ali, was so attentive and accommodating. She really thought through cross contamination risks, looked up whether grenadine was GF, and must made me feel really cared for. I used my Nima and the GF bread tested positive for gluten, Brussels sprouts were negative, didn’t test the charcuterie but ate it without issue. Tread carefully, but know that they will go above and beyond to try to keep you safe!

I had gluten free bread and amazing tapas! I did not get sick

I love Bask! Everytime I'm in San Francisco I make sure to come here. Almost the entire menu is gluten free, the staff is knowledgeable, and the GF bread has amazing flavor and texture. Great food!

THIS PLACE GAVE ME GLUTENOUS CHOCOLATE CAKE! I explicitly told them I had Celiac's and I ordered flourless chocolate cake for dessert. My dining companion and I both ordered flourless chocolate cake and got lava cake unknowingly. Do not go here!! Also no dedicated fryer, don't eat anything fried.
No
Every thing is marked BUT tell your server if you are celiac and they take care of you. The fried tapas are off limits FYI

Great place and wonderful staff. The owner helped us and new exactly what dishes were available gluten free. The menu is clearly marked letting you what dishes are gluten free and they offer quite a few dishes. Food was amazing and owner Sabrina is the best. This will be our new favorite spot when visiting the city from now on. A must try place.
Called ahead to speak to a manager and left a message being told I’d get a call back. Never got a call back which isn’t surprising considering how lackluster food service is in SF. Decided to go here anyway based on reviews here. I’d definitely recommend it! The waiter was exceptionally attentive to my CD and verified each dish that was or was not safe for me as she put it on the table. GF items are noted on the menu however it’s not entirely accurate as fried items are a CC risk bc the fryer is not GF. I appreciated the waiter clarifying this for me. That eliminated the Brussels and the bravas but no matter I had an excellent meal here including a flourless cake for dessert!

Great to be able to eat gf tapas.
Very Celiac friendly and good food.

In spite of the raving reviews about this place being Celiac friendly, I’ve had a reaction the last two times I ate here even though I talked to them about having celiac disease. I did talk to the waitress and she is going to talk to the chef about changing the menu labeling. They have 75% of the menu labeled gluten free, but they do NOT account for cross contamination. The kitchen is very small and many items cannot be prepared safely. They also use canned veggies sometimes, which aren’t necessarily GF. I had a mild reaction but definitely reacted. It messed up my digestion for a few days. I can’t risk eating here again after having a reaction the past two times.

Super delicious tapas. The menu is well-marked and the waiter seemed knowledgeable. They served Udi’s rolls in place of regular bread upon request. I loved the ahi tartare (wonton chips on a separate plate) and the goat cheese. The ahi came with masago on top and I didn’t ask if it was truly gluten free; I had my companions eat that part and I ate the ahi that didn’t have masago on it. Creme brûlée was yummy; flourless chocolate cake was a bit dry and could have used some sauce. I didn’t ask about cross contamination.
Super tapas, and the staff are very familiar with gf diners. They brought gf bread first on a clean plate, with regular bread for my companions later. All gf dishes very clearly marked on the menu. Really wide choice of dishes!

Bask SF was wonderful for a family meal. I have celiac disease and must eat gluten-free. The staff went above and beyond to point out the dishes that would be safe for me to eat. We ordered about 12 dishes and everything was more delicious than the next. The staff was very friendly, the sangria was some of the best we ever had, and the food was delicious. We had a wonderful feast.

Great restaurant. Tons of clearly marked GF options on the menu. Very attentive and friendly service. The food was tasty and incredible. We tried 5 different tapas and a big serving of paella. Their gluten free rolls are delicious too - just had to tell the server that we had a gluten allergy and she brought them right out. My only concern is that one or two of the dishes marked as GF came with regular bread on the side of the plate (not touching the rest of the food). So be cautious if you are super sensitive with cross-contamination.

So many gluten free dishes! Everything I tried was amazing. The size of the dishes is pretty large for a tapas place. Even my foodie husband was impressed. Ask for the gluten free bread.

I'm celiac and I recommend this restaurant. GF tapas are clearly labelled on the menu and the staff was friendly. Tapas were great.

A great place with highly professional staff and great food choices. We ate there and had no reaction. Definetely would recommend the place to other people with celiac disease and will come back again to dine with my family.

Amazing food and lots of gluten free options!
Ate here twice. Food is awesome. Waitstaff is a little clueless on GF stuff but menu is clearly marked and cooks are flawless in execution. I'm super sensitive and didn't get sick. Highly recommend.

I'm not a celiac but I'm GF due to thyroid issues. Very good GF selection and the food was good and authentic. My husband is from Zaragoza and he was happy. Try the gambas and mussels. Off the hook.
Only two or three items on the whole menu that aren't marked as GF, so plenty of choice. They bought out gluten free bread for me too as soon as I mentioned I was celiac. I had the paella, which was tasty but looses a star as it was very very garlicky!
The vast majority of the menu is gf. They said that they do fry two of the items (potatoes and something else I can't remember) separately, so those are safe, too.
The food was delicious and the staff were careful to check on what I needed. I'm celiac and I didn't get sick at all. I highly recommend coming here.

Absolutely delicious! very friendly, accommodating staff. be sure to tell them you are gf or Celiac, they will tell you what is safe. have been here twice. had the sangria, octopus, potatoes, tortilla espanola, sweetbreads, shrimp, paella. fryer is not safe.

My experience was really positive! It was hard to choose from so many gf options, but I got the frisee salad with shrimp, and the Spanish tortilla. Both were yummy! They have several gf desserts too.

The menu was almost all gluten free and the food was delicious. The prawns were especially good!

They really understood are gluten and dairy free needs. We had a burger with a GF bun (which was also dairy free - they checked). They also cooked up delicious potatoes. We did not get the french fries as I believe they do not have a dedicated fryer ... she thought it would be too risky for us. Excellent food! We did not get sick and we are extremely sensitive to cross-contamination. Highly recommend!

Absolutely delicious! Most items were gluten free and they had enough that were dairy free as well. The paella was so good!!! The service was fantastic too. So happy to have found this place. Will definitely be back!

Amazing tapas. Most items were gf. Staff was extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. Delivered gf bread to the table.

Outstanding traditional Tapas and best Sangria I ever had. Every dish delicious. Lamb/ beef meatballs in red sauce, goat cheese in peppers, mushrooms in cream sauce, cod&potato w red pepper wrap. Paella, Rack of Lamb. Owners are French. Can't wait to come back.
I LOVE THIS PLACE SO MUCH, YOU GUYS --
every time, the server is super-friendly, warm and upbeat, and has opinions about foods in the best way possible. And somehow, they seem to have so little bread or other flour-y in the kitchen that it has, so far, not caused any issues.
The owner patiently answered all my questions and put me at ease about my fears of cross contamination. I had a great meal and didn't get sick. I will defiantly be going back soon.

This place is amazing. They are completely understanding and knowledgable of celiac disease. To start with they have gluten free bread that they bring right away which makes this celiac girl extremely happy. And most of there menu is gluten free. We had the meatballs (which were my favorite) tiger shrimp and the burger. Everything was wonderful.
GF items clearly marked on the menu. Great salads, GF hamburger bun and fries available.
Staff went out of their way to make sure my multiple allergies (gluten and dairy) were accommodated. Food was amazing. Almost the entire menu is GF. Can't wait to go back!
