I have eaten here many times & have had great experiences! They have a large gluten free menu & their serves are knowledgeable. The gluten free food is even brought out on green plates while the regular food is brought out on beige plates. Everything I have eaten here has been delicious!!
The restaurant was fairly crowded so we did a pick up order through DoorDash. The food was ready in 20 minutes and all the entrees were labeled with GF. We got an order of gf pancakes, the gf cinnamon roll entree, and a gf create skillet. I had zero reaction and the food was great.
This restaurant was great. I am so afraid to order online and worry about celiac, but there’s a little box to tell them that you have celiac and then when I picked up my order online they had written on each box “GF and then enjoy!” It made me feel so comfortable eating out of each container. They’re gluten-free cinnamon roll it was delicious.
Great place with tons of GF options and wonderful service at Egg Harbor! Family friendly and all things considered- not overly pricy. It does get busy on weekends so plan for a wait.
I got a sandwich off the lunch menu- the bread was so tasty and didn’t fall apart. I asked about the kitchen procedures for GF toast and it is kept/prepared separate from regular toast. Two thumbs up for this brunch experience!
The server and cooks seem knowledgeable about GF allergy and celiac. They change gloves and reportedly have dedicated cooking equipment for GF dishes. Unfortunately, I ordered the White Veggie Delight omelette, and was disturbed to find during my second bite a large piece of bacon or chorizo. As a vegetarian, this made me very uncomfortable. They remade the dish for me very quickly. However, this concerns me about the possibility of cross contamination in the kitchen. How did meat into my food?
Ok, so first of all I would DEFINITELY come back and this is one of the best options I have seen for someone looking for a decent GF AND DF breakfast! I really appreciated that there was oat milk for my coffee and I could have the potatoes (usually a no go) and the bacon! My (not allergic to anything) husband had a delicious hearty breakfast. There were, however, a couple of snafus. I ordered the grits after my server assured me they were DF, and although they caught the mistake in the kitchen, my husband’s food came and he ate breakfast as I waited for my replacement meal. Snafu #2-we were charged for all three meals and had to wait around for that to get straightened out. Also, I bought a mug that was chipped and had to exchange it. Everyone was super nice and friendly. Our waiter was genuinely upset at his mistake. Having said that, I’m in customer service and really surprised they didn’t comp the meal or at least the mug. We didn’t kick up a fuss though. Anyhow, options for a GF/DF breakfast are so slim I appreciate any restaurant that goes the extra mile to offer it.
Best gf cinnamon rolls ever! I try to stop here everytime I travel through and stock up on the cinnamon rolls!
I was so excited when I read about this place online. The staff was extremely knowledgeable about celiac. They have an entirely separate menu and it is HUGE! It appears that they put their gluten free menu items on red plates and the other food on white plates. I ordered the GF cinnamon roll breakfast with chicken sausage and a side of GF mini pancakes. Don’t be fooled, the mini pancakes are basically normal sized pancakes and you get two when you order it as a side. The food came out very quickly. The cinnamon roll is to die for! And the pancakes are amazing, very fluffy. Honestly I have never had such great breakfast food and have a menu have so many options since being diagnosed with celiac six years ago! And it’s right next to Sally’s gluten free bakery so we got some chocolate chip cookies to take home!
This place was great! We took a trip to Atlanta over the weekend for an expo. We decided on breakfast here because they had lots of gluten free options. I love the atmosphere. It's so down home-y. The staff are very nice and well mannered.
The sweet tea comes out in a Mason jar :) I ordered the gluten free cinnamon roll with scrambled eggs, bacon, and cheese grits. The only disappointment was that the cinnamon roll was a little on the small side, BUT IT WAS AMAZING! The best cinnamon roll I've ever had, gluten free or not. It was so buttery and soft, and the icing was perfect. Cheese grits were good, eggs and bacon were average. They do very well at making sure everything is clear from cross contamination (the server said they literally wipe down everything and have dedicated pans for gluten free).
All in all, I really enjoyed eating here. I wish there was one closer to home cause I'd eat there all the time. Definitely stop by if you're in the neighborhood! There's more than one location!
Excellent food, tremendous menu options. Very friendly staff!!!! Justin was our waiter and super!!!! Now for breakfast, the g.f. cinnamon roll is a must and deserves a moment of silence to enjoy all its yumminess. Everything, eggs, harbor potatoes, cherry bacon, delicious.
We LOVE Egg Harbor Cafe. The food is amazingly good HOWEVER on our most recent visit we noticed the menu says while they strive to serve GF food it its customers, they can not guarantee there will not be cross contamination. For those with Celiacs, this is a major bummer. They will do their best---no question but for those who can't afford to take a chance...buyer beware.
Such an unbelievably happy feeling to be able to order ANYTHING from the GF menu. The pancakes were delicious. Waiter asked if I had an allergy when I ordered and marked it on the order.
