I love Flower Child! I used to live right next to one on Lovers and it was really great. Most of their menu is gluten free too. This location is kind of iffy. The food was very subpar at this location and the staff were really negative. It was cold and overcooked. My food was all gluten free and I had no reaction, so I’m thankful for that. I got the chicken, broccoli (with no bread crumbs), and the gluten free Mac and cheese. I get this same order every time I go to Flower Child, so I know it was just a location thing. I strongly recommend this place if you’re gluten free because it’s safe and delicious, but I will definitely be using the extra gas to go to another location.
Got it delivered through doordash, each menu item was clearly marked as gf if it was! Very healthy food.
Ordered through DoorDash. I called into the restaurant to double-check what their gluten-free procedures were and let them know that I had a gluten intolerance. The hostess assured me that she would notify the chef of my gluten intolerance and that they took high precautions around cross-contamination. Menu clearly marks which items are gluten free and which are not, and the majority of items on the menu are gf. The food came delivered hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious. Ordered the steak bowl with gf mac 'n' cheese with cracked cauliflower.
They have delicious kombucha on tap. The atmosphere is very nice and you can see the vast majority of the kitchen. You can tell they use fresh ingredients! I had their gluten-free Mac n cheese, curry cauliflower, and sweet potatoes and it was all delicious! We also tried the Madras Yellow Curry and it was good too. We added salmon and chicken and both were cooked PERFECTLY! We were really impressed!
Update:
I haven’t got the enchilada bowl again, but I have been here many times prior and haven’t been sick!
I often get steak and mashed potatoes and sweet potato fries. I also enjoyed their seasonal pot roast. Their vibe is really cute, and I have felt good after eating, so I think maybe my first experience was a fluke, but I guess cross contamination is always possible, so there is always minor risk.
Original review:
I think I got glutened here. I had the chicken enchilada bowl. So disappointing because one of the workers was really enthusiastic about it being safe to eat there as a celiac.
Maybe it was a fluke thing or something unrelated… hard to tell! I would probably try it one more time, and not get the chicken enchiladas.
