Very knowledgable about celiac and cross contamination. My son with celiac got the steak with chimichurri sauce and said it was delicious. It is a shared fryer so they baked his french fries. The rest of the family enjoyed their meals as well. Very busy, no reservations but you do priority seating by calling ahead.
Our family has one Celiac, one Vegan and one Vegetarian and this place was great for all of us. I just got eggs and house potatoes with toast and it was delicious even though basic. I also got the grapefruit brûlée and that was definitely a new find to keep in mind
This being the best food in town, it gets extremely crowded for dinner. Walked in at 6:30 and was seated at 7:10. No reservations are taken. I ordered the Down South (fancy shrimp and grits) and it was delicious. Not enough shrimp though (only 3-4 medium size). I had some pretty intense bloating afterwards, so I suspect this place is not safe for celiac.
This place really knows what they are doing for gluten challenges. The wait staff are educated and knowledgeable and can provide guidance and suggestions. Most of the menu can be altered, and the selections are numerous. Even a gluten free roll with the bread course as an extra treat. Highly recommend and we will be back.
Hands down one of the best celiac friendly restaurants I have ever been to. We went twice for lunch during our visit to Williamsburg. Both times the staff was attentive and knowledgeable. They kindly made sure to verify GF or any other diet sensitivity for each order we placed. They have delicious GF buns. They baked the fries instead of frying them. During our second visit the mananger came out and talked to us about their processes to keep the GF food same. She informed us that they recently started using a GF tester for quality control to ensure their processes are safe. Wonderful place!!!
Just like everyone said. Conscientious staff, confirmation of your order and awareness of celiac in the back by the owner. Positive result. Go here, food is great. Lime chicken was excellent by any standard. Fries can be baked and were very good.
Celiac’s do not get gf pasta! They were very knowledgeable about cross contamination and was told they use separate pots and strainers but my son is throwing up this morning after eating there last night. They had such great reviews from others so I think we would go again but get something different.
This is the best meal of our trip! Our server Ames, and all the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. They were so knowledgeable about GF issues and have an extensive GF menu! The food was amazing! And they have cute conversation cards on the table! Don’t miss his place!
Ate here a couple of times while on vacation. LOVE IT! Extensive options for gluten free. Bread brought to the table! (If you want more, its $1 a roll, which I think is totally reasonable). Our food was delicious both times. I had the Caprese appetizer, as did my daughter. We both loved it. I had the chicken both nights (one night did the combo of Cilantro Lime and Jamaican jerk, and the next time had just the Cilantro Lime). Lots of side item choices. My daughter had the burger...I tasted the bun and it was good! Had the chocolate dessert one night which was also delicious. Knowledgeable staff and fantastic service. I wish we had a place like this close to home.
Extensive GF menu, carefully prepared. Very knowledgeable wait staff (and hostess!!!)... GF bread served ($1 if you want more bread- worth it!)... Manager came out and discussed GF/Celiac procedures with us. Not only was it safe but DELICIOUS! Even ended the meal with dessert (several to choose from)....
We loved his place! They have a gluten free menu with many choices. As we sat down and mentioned that I am gluten free, the waiter immediately requested a gluten free roll on his iPad. It was warm and delicious. They offered butter and dairy free margarine which was great. Everything about this place is wonderful, food, atmosphere and staff. The staff all seem to enjoy working there and speak highly of the owner who is often on-site. The GF flourless chocolate cake was delicious and the presentation was lovely. We absolutely loved our waiter Ian and will be sure to return!!
Gluten free bread to start, can't beat that. They made my daughter a grilled cheese and gluten free fries (they had to bake them, no dedicated fryer) and she was so happy. The waiter was very attentive and made sure the meal was safe. Excellent!
They had a lot of gluten free options, we're very knowledgeable, and even had gluten free dinner rolls. We were traveling and actually ate here twice in a row because the food was so good, there were so many options, and best of all it was safe for me!
They had a gluten free menu. We had gluten free dinner rolls. I had the eggplant Parmesan gluten free and dairy free. They actually had a raspberry hazelnut torte that was gluten free and vegan. When one is both gluten and dairy free there is never dessert. My kids had gluten free Mac and cheese, not something we find very often. My food was delicious, good service and dessert!!
This place is definitely a must try. They have their own gluten-free menu. Served me a warm and tasty dinner roll wrapped in foil. I was undecided so I ordered the combo jerk chicken with mango salsa and the cilantro lime chicken. They both were excellent but I have to say my favorite was the cilantro lime chicken it was outstanding, with mashed red potatoes and grilled zucchini. The owner (a nice professional looking gentlemen) came out and introduced himself and invited us to come back for breakfast. The food was hot, the service was quick and overall it was a very pleasant experience. Enjoy!!
The food here is always great. Yesterday was my first visit after becoming allergic to gluten. The server offered a GF menu right away with many options and even brought me a GF roll. I had the shrimp and grits and definitely enjoyed it. Highly recommend!
EXCELLENT! I have multiple food sensitivities (gluten and nightshades), and all levels of staff took them seriously. A manager sat down with me to discuss what they could do to accommodate me. She even brought one of the recipes out so I could double-check the ingredients! The gluten-free rolls arrived warm and toasty, in individual foil wrap to prevent cross-contamination. I highly recommend the Roasted Beet Salad. We ate dinner there 3 times on our vacation because the food was so good and they were so attentive. Can't wait to go back the next time we're in Williamsburg!
It's a great place to eat if your looking for a gluten free/celiac friendly place to eat. The gluten free roll was one of the softest I have ever seen. I was with my non gluten free/ celiac parents and they said they enjoyed the non gluten free food. I would recommend eating here if your in the area.
Entire GF menu. So many options. High quality ingredients. Lots of kid options. Casual dining with excellent service. Definitely recommend for anyone staying in Williamsburg area and looking for a GF meal. Oh and incredibly fast food service.
Just AMAZING! Such a comfortable dining experience for people with Celiac Disease! Entire waitstaff insanely friendly and knowledgeable about gluten free. I had zero worries here. What a relief. This place is an hour drive for me and I would make it anytime in a heartbeat for the amazing food and service. I'm drooling now thinking of the filet mignon....creme brûlée! Need to go back nowwww!
They understand Celiac needs. Separate menu, waitress made sure I knew what was on the table that wasn't GF, she even stopped the server bringing non GF appetizer & told him I couldn't have it. GF warm roll brought to me wrapped in foil. Well done & food is good! Second time eating there.
Wow, this place was amazing! Was packed, but they got us in within a half hour. They have a separate gluten-free menu with many options. I had the "Stick to your Ribs" pork ribs, which was fabulous. Added quality touches: a warm gluten-free roll (!!) and gluten-free beer (!!!). A caveat for the beer -- it was Omission Lager, which is gluten-removed and not certified gluten-free. Very tasty, though. We were just visiting Williamsburg for a few days but it would be worth it to come back just for this place. Highly recommended!
