We loved his place! They have a gluten free menu with many choices. As we sat down and mentioned that I am gluten free, the waiter immediately requested a gluten free roll on his iPad. It was warm and delicious. They offered butter and dairy free margarine which was great. Everything about this place is wonderful, food, atmosphere and staff. The staff all seem to enjoy working there and speak highly of the owner who is often on-site. The GF flourless chocolate cake was delicious and the presentation was lovely. We absolutely loved our waiter Ian and will be sure to return!!
Food For Thought is a great restaurant. they have an entire gluten free menu to include appetizers and desert ootions. the owner even came out to talk to us. they are very celiac awareness, and the food was amazing.
Gluten free bread to start, can't beat that. They made my daughter a grilled cheese and gluten free fries (they had to bake them, no dedicated fryer) and she was so happy. The waiter was very attentive and made sure the meal was safe. Excellent!
Gluten free menu. Friendly staff. A great find!
Fantastic options for Gf. Wait staff very knowledgeable. Fun vibe to the meal experience.
Omelette was okay I think it had cheese sauce rather then cheese in it. Wasn't too impressed. Parking is an issue lots of warnings about getting towed.
They had a lot of gluten free options, we're very knowledgeable, and even had gluten free dinner rolls. We were traveling and actually ate here twice in a row because the food was so good, there were so many options, and best of all it was safe for me!
They had a gluten free menu. We had gluten free dinner rolls. I had the eggplant Parmesan gluten free and dairy free. They actually had a raspberry hazelnut torte that was gluten free and vegan. When one is both gluten and dairy free there is never dessert. My kids had gluten free Mac and cheese, not something we find very often. My food was delicious, good service and dessert!!
This place is definitely a must try. They have their own gluten-free menu. Served me a warm and tasty dinner roll wrapped in foil. I was undecided so I ordered the combo jerk chicken with mango salsa and the cilantro lime chicken. They both were excellent but I have to say my favorite was the cilantro lime chicken it was outstanding, with mashed red potatoes and grilled zucchini. The owner (a nice professional looking gentlemen) came out and introduced himself and invited us to come back for breakfast. The food was hot, the service was quick and overall it was a very pleasant experience. Enjoy!!
The food here is always great. Yesterday was my first visit after becoming allergic to gluten. The server offered a GF menu right away with many options and even brought me a GF roll. I had the shrimp and grits and definitely enjoyed it. Highly recommend!
Excellent!!! It was a wonderful treat to have a healthy, well-rounded, and delicious meal in a touristy area.
Attentive staff regarding celiac needs and other allergies. Delicious food!
EXCELLENT! I have multiple food sensitivities (gluten and nightshades), and all levels of staff took them seriously. A manager sat down with me to discuss what they could do to accommodate me. She even brought one of the recipes out so I could double-check the ingredients! The gluten-free rolls arrived warm and toasty, in individual foil wrap to prevent cross-contamination. I highly recommend the Roasted Beet Salad. We ate dinner there 3 times on our vacation because the food was so good and they were so attentive. Can't wait to go back the next time we're in Williamsburg!
staff and manager we're Amazing and very knowledgeable! the food was very good and fresh. Didn't have room for dessert but was so excited to see they actually had gf options. Will be going back again.
The ribs are fantastic! They have a gluten free menu with actual variety, amazing desserts, and they bring you a gluten free roll, wrapped in foil, with real butter. Amazing.
Great gf menu. Very careful. Owner has celiac. Great food for all.
The gluten free menu has many options
The waitress and manager were so very careful with my order! As I was perusing the gf menu they brought me a gf roll wrapped in foil and nice and hot! Lots of delicious choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner!
It's a great place to eat if your looking for a gluten free/celiac friendly place to eat. The gluten free roll was one of the softest I have ever seen. I was with my non gluten free/ celiac parents and they said they enjoyed the non gluten free food. I would recommend eating here if your in the area.
We ate lunch here and within 30 minutes I was having some gluten reaction issues. I can't be sure if it was this restaurant and food, but eat at your own risk.
Entire GF menu. So many options. High quality ingredients. Lots of kid options. Casual dining with excellent service. Definitely recommend for anyone staying in Williamsburg area and looking for a GF meal. Oh and incredibly fast food service.
Just AMAZING! Such a comfortable dining experience for people with Celiac Disease! Entire waitstaff insanely friendly and knowledgeable about gluten free. I had zero worries here. What a relief. This place is an hour drive for me and I would make it anytime in a heartbeat for the amazing food and service. I'm drooling now thinking of the filet mignon....creme brûlée! Need to go back nowwww!
They understand Celiac needs. Separate menu, waitress made sure I knew what was on the table that wasn't GF, she even stopped the server bringing non GF appetizer & told him I couldn't have it. GF warm roll brought to me wrapped in foil. Well done & food is good! Second time eating there.
Wow, this place was amazing! Was packed, but they got us in within a half hour. They have a separate gluten-free menu with many options. I had the "Stick to your Ribs" pork ribs, which was fabulous. Added quality touches: a warm gluten-free roll (!!) and gluten-free beer (!!!). A caveat for the beer -- it was Omission Lager, which is gluten-removed and not certified gluten-free. Very tasty, though. We were just visiting Williamsburg for a few days but it would be worth it to come back just for this place. Highly recommended!
Will be making a trip back to Williamsburg just so my non Celiac husband can try the food! Best options, best food and best service I have had in my 15 years gluten free as a Celiac! The shrimp and grits are phenomenal!! And to be served a hot roll beforehand was awesome! Desert was a slice of heaven! (chocolate torte) The level of attention by our waiter just made the meal. Just an all around GREAT dining experience!
Best restaurant that I have been to in a long time. Came down to Great Wolf from NY and I wish I would have known about this place sooner!! If you can get Nicholas as your server, that's a bonus!! Great service and catered to my son's celiacs disease.
This is one of the best places I have eaten since finding out about my gluten allergy. Gluten free menu and informed waiters. I had a great grilled chicken sandwich and fresh side salad. But the cherry on top, for me, was a warmed up GF roll with butter.
Delicious food, numerous gf options! Knowledgeable staff, menu well marked. Stopped here while on vacation, wish there was one in my hometown!
This is my favorite gluten free friendly restaurant! The staff is very knowledgeable and very personable.
Super helpful staff and the manager reviews each order to make sure it is actually gluten free. Delicious food and they even bake gluten free dinner rolls to serve in place of bread before your meal.
Fantastic! My 10 year old daughter is soy free and a celiac. They were great and she had a wonderful safe meal.
Super gf for dinner breakfast and lunch Super staff assistance and the manager extremely open to menu and food suggestions!!! 5 star for Celiacs!!!!!
Well educated, friendly staff. Sides were excellent, as was the GF roll. Ribs were ok.
Ordered a flavorful cilantro lime chicken without the bun and substituted grilled zucchini for the fries since fries are shared in the same oil as items with gluten. A delicious gluten-free dinner roll was provided before the meal. $1 extra for an extra roll. Oh well. Loved the conversation-starter cards on the table. Customer service - superb.
large gf menu that includes appetizers and desserts. knowledgeable, friendly and courteous staff. dined there on vacation. popular local restaurant, so be prepared to wait for a table, even at 8:30 on a wednesday night in august
Delicious food with many gluten-free options-including dessert!
My Celiac son loved his gf rolls and chicken mac n cheese. The family loved their choices and I had the best meal ever-crab cake over spinach stuffed portabella mushroom with cheesy grits!!!
Amazing experience! GF hot bread rolls are brought to your table instead of the gluten-filled cornbread. Menu is HUGE. I had the lime cilantro chicken and the kids had ribs and pasta. Very good experience and staff was very knowledgable.
we were here visiting Colonial Williamsburg we were interested in eating some authentic Southern food and food for thought as has the most delicious ribs. it's enough for two people and it's an excellent taste with barbecue sauce on the side and they give you gluten-free rolls and they're very gluten-free conscious I give them a two thumbs up if you did for the first time let them know and I'll give you a 10% off coupon for your next visit. The service was excellent we were in a hurry because we were going to a ghost walk in the evening and they accommodated us we had a service animal they accommodated us no questions asked and it's an amazing place and I highly recommend it. If you're in Williamsburg have dinner or lunch there and you'll be you'll be so grateful. The prices are great too.
I loved this restaurant last year before I was Diagnosed with celiac so I was so happy that they have so many GF options!
Meal began with us being served regular bread and my 12yo w/ Celiac receiving an individual plate with a warmed gf roll on it. It was brought by a different person wearing gloves. My daughter had a burger, no bun, mashed potatoes along with apple juice and the raspberry tort for dessert. Everything, all our meals, we delicious. Staff was friendly and courteous and knowledgeable about cross contamination. When waitress didn't know, she asked the manager. Expect a wait or call an hour ahead. Worth the wait for a meal that's safe! This was yesterday and she's had no reaction 😊
I'm not sure why this is not higher rated. We go EVERY single time we are in/near Williamsburg, sometimes twice. The shrimp and grits are amazing. My super-sensitive celiac daughter has never gotten sick here (I have celiac too and no issues).
awesome GF food!! even a bread roll while you wait for dinner. fantastic GF desserts not ice-cream thankfully I had raspberry hazelnut tort, to die for! service was excellent thanks Zack!
We have eaten here many times. The food is great and they have been very attentive to the needs of celiac disease. Tonight the waiter forgot to tag the item as gluten free and my daughter was served a gluten version of her dish. He came over when we were almost done and said he forgot. The manager was very apologetic and asked what they could do to help medically but really there is nothing you can do. Very disappointing given how great they have been in the past.
Very helpful with multiple food allergies. The manager spent as much time as I needed to come up with a meal that I would enjoy and that met all of my needs. I do have a soy allergy and there were several soy free options. She even brought out the GF roll ingredient list so we could confirm that it was ok.
Delicious pad thai, fresh and full of vegetables. The bread is since of the best gf bread I've ever had! Sever was very knowledgeable. I have celiac and felt safe.
This is great for Gluten Free only people! If you can't tolerate soy do NOT go. Anything they Cooke that requires an oil they use a soy blend!! Other than that the food was great and they have gf rolls, but they contain soy too!! 😬
Good place knowledgeable staff. There are not many restaurants where I can enjoy bread before meal. So liked that. Had ribs and pad Thai. Tasted great.
This place is wonderful! My boyfriend and I had ribs and Jamaican jerk chicken. Chicken is a bit spicy for those who don't usually eat spicy food. Large portions of food served, service was excellent, and desserts were nice. We chose the chocolate torte and the cherry brownie. Brownie didn't have cherry flavor but we were happy about that and happy also that the brownie was like a milk chocolate brownie rather than the dark chocolate you find so often in gf. And I don't want to forget the dinner rolls which were wonderful! Excellent texture and taste!! We are planning a return visit for the creme brûlée.
