The cooks have a procedure to clean a spot on the grill when they see a red allergy bowl. Request some of these bowls and grab a gluten free menu when you check in. Some of the sauces are marked as gluten free despite containing wheat. This is because the wheat has been modified to be gluten free. Personally, I stick with the wheat free sauces. Finally, I recommend asking for Pad Thai noodles from the back instead of the buffet line, as the noodles often end up in each others containers. I am a very sensitive symptomatic celiac and I’ve never had a problem. The staff is great, knowledgeable, and accommodating.

I could not believe the level of care shown by the staff! (One of the cooks there had a family member with celiac) They made sure to clean a section of the grill off extra well and with special cleaning supplies each time I brought food up, and they have dividers to keep your food from accidentally cross-contaminating with other food on the grill. When they accidentally put my food on the regular grill while another cook was preparing a space (not realizing it was mine), they comped my meal. It was just very nice to have so much effort and care put into making me comfortable.

HuHot does not have a gluten free menu but does have an allergen list and a list of gluten free sauces. Ask them to clean a spot on the grill and use different utensils, if necessary.
These people didn't even know what gluten or cross contamination was! It was advertised that they would get fresh food from the cooler and clean the grill, but they had no idea what they were doing! I had to leave, which was disappointing, because I had been looking forward to eating here.

This place is amazing when it comes to taking care of their GF customers. Yes a customer has to use common sense and read but the restraunt provides special bowls for those with allergies, scrubs the grill prior to an allergy order then they place a special section up to prevent cross contamination with other orders. Not all sauces are GF however they are all clearly marked so you don't get confused. Reading through some of these other reviews I just laugh. Clearly some just expect to be handed everything on platter. Anyone who has celiac disease knows you have to read and ask questions. Even then many people do not know what celiac disease is so you have to educate them. Huhot rocks. I have eaten here several times and never gotten sick.

Just be sure you understand the difference between the GF sauces and the non GF sauces. They're internal soy sauce we were told by one location is GF, where the sauces made with generic soy sauce are not. But it was a fun and yummy place to eat. They clean the grill and use clean spatulas to prepare your meal.
Yes
Not even close to safe for gluten free. Walked in and right back out again.
I am shocked that anyone finds this place safe to eat when they are gluten free! We went in so hopeful and our hopes were raised even further when they mentioned the care they go to in making sure it was gf. The special bowls, the dividers, scrubbing down the grill etc. But then the server mentioned no cross contamination of shell fish. That was the first red flag. Shell fish are not a worry for people who are gluten free. Perhaps he just mentioned it because of shell fish allergies not meaning to imply that it had anything to do with gf.
They were careful to bring us a soy sauce that was gf, but then told us it was safe to eat their sauces; most contain regular soy sauce. What the server and manager told us are different than what it says on their allergy guide that can be found on line. They said their potstickers were gf; they clearly have wheat! Their allergy guide claims that all wheat on their menu has been processed to meet FDA guidelines. WHAT?! Anyone, who knows anything about gluten and gluten free knows that is IMPOSSIBLE! Their menu is laden with gluten and is NOT safe for people with celiac and gluten intolerance. When we talked to the server and manager about this they just shrugged and said that's how they were trained and no one has ever gotten sick there.
There are no FDA guidelines for restaurants; only processed foods marked gf. We chose not to eat here; we want our daughter to have a good first week at college and not be dealing with being glutened. I'm only giving one star because it has to have at least one!

Great place service is very helpful in informing about allergies.

This is probably the best place in the valley to eat gluten-free. They have special dividers to separate your food and they definitely know what they are doing with gluten-free.

They have a list of which line items contain allergens (not just wheat) so that you make sure that you are eating foods that are acceptable. They give you a plate to put your bowl on to make sure that the cooks know that they need to prepare your food with extra care. They scrub the grill until it is spotless and looks safe for your meal. Sauces are limited (because most contain soy sauce) but overall it is very good. It is my favorite place to go out to eat because I get to pick exactly what I'm eating and I get to watch them cook it. Absolutely love it!
They did a really good job making sure they did everything they could do make things gluten free. They gave me a special allergy plate so everyone knew I had an allergy. They also cleaned a large area of their grill, just for my food. The food was great also, lots of choices.

They mark your allergies by giving you purple bowls so they stand out for the chefs. I usually stick to just the oils but I believe the sauces are all safe. They clean the grill when they see there's an allergy and they use separate tongs for your food. I've never had a reaction here or left hungry! They will grab rice noodles or toppings from the back if you want!

This place is absolutely AMAZING with gluten free! While most other buffet style restaurants can become cross contaminated very easily, the manager had me go through and write down what I wanted, and prepared it with new containers of food in the back! ALL of their sauces are gf which made me feel so much better. He then alerted the grillers that there was an allergy. He made sure they cleaned the grill super well TWICE. The then used spatulas to block off a section of the grill for my food so no one else’s food would ever get close. They completely changed utensils and most importantly, I did not get sick! They even offered to do it all again if I was still hungry since it was a buffet!

Unfortunately they must’ve changed their sauces. They used to all be gluten free but now only about 5 are. They still section off your meal on the grill and use new utensils when preparing!

I’ve been here a few times and always love it! Ask for an allergy bowl and they’ll give you a special yellow bowl to fill with your desired ingredients. You can choose whatever you like and everything is that is gf marked. Sometimes it’s marked with a “G” which confused me at first, but means gluten free. They also have recipe cards at the beginning of the line including a few gf recipes you can try!
The employees are very knowledgeable about allergies and I never have to ask them to clean anything. They see my yellow bowl and immediately clean and section off the grill so my food does not come into contact with anything else on the grill.
