Had pulled pork and Corn. Not really a sit down place. You choose all your items that are already prepared and pay at the register. Would eat there again.

Stopped for dinner and had a great experience. When ordering stated that I was gluten free with celiac and asked for a glove change. They got a new cutting board, knife and gloves to prepare the meat. New gloves for the sides. The food was delicious and the gluten free options were clearly marked.

I was really hopeful going in, based off of all of the reviews. Sadly, I was less than impressed. The employees were super friendly. He had no problem changing his cutting board, gloves and knife. So that was nice. However the food containers are right there with corn bread and their crumbs right next to them, or in them, which was concerning and had to ask for a clean one, as the first one had crumbs in it. They don’t get fresh side from the back. Overall, it was an average experience. I had minor reactions. I wouldn’t go back.

Excellent safety procedures given that cornbread crumbs are all over the wood countertop board where normal orders are prepped. Mentioned gluten "allergy" and they clearly have their routine down. Got a fresh large plastic cutting board, clean knife, clean gloves. The meats are kept in foil. There was a card at the sides station with gluten/"may"/GF categories listed out. Obvious things contain gluten (mac), mashed potatoes are "may contain," but mashed sweet potatoes were fine. All sauces are GF. This info is not clearly listed on the website but given their procedures and this knowledge I'd totally trust an online or food order with GF noted. The food is great and was rated as a top Nashville West BBQ spot by my gluten-eating family.

Asked them to change their gloves for celiac and they said “nope I need to do more than that”. He changed gloves, washed his hands, got a new cutting board, & got out a fresh brisket to ensure nothing was contaminated. He also did it all with a smile and never acted as if it was an inconvenience!

Accommodated us perfectly. Two of us are Celiac. All meats, rubs and sauce are GF. They pulled out clean cutting board and knife for us. Changed gloves and all. Owner Freida even came out to greet us!

Tried out Jacks with my celiac daughter the night before she had her bloodwork done with her gastro. Great experience. Told the butcher we had celiac and he promptly changed gloves, board and knife and ensured everyone down the line changed gloves as well. Daughter had smoked chicken, original BBQ sauce, and the apples, potato salad and lemonade. No reactions and bloodwork was great so we know she wasn’t glutened. Definitely recommend given most of the sides are GF and the staff was so friendly.

Subway/Qdoba style dining where they put your food together in front of you. Have a clear GF menu. For the meat they use clean gloves and have a separate cutting board for celiac orders. There isl some chance of cross contamination with the sides since GF and non-gf sides are right next to each other. I did not feel sick. Food was amazing!

Staff was excellent! We said "Celiac" and he (wish I got his name because he was outstanding) was on it. He prepared all of our non-GF orders first then changed his gloves, cleaned the prep surfaces, grabbed a new knife and even pulled out a fresh pork shoulder. He then relayed the Celiac info down the line and made sure everyone handling the food also changed their gloves, etc. I felt VERY safe for my son to eat here and would definitely go again!!

BBQ sauces were all Gluten free along with the all the meat! Contamination did worry me because the bread was cut on the same boards. I did tell them I had a gluten allergy. They did not change there gloves but I did not ask them To either. I did not get sick. Overall good BBQ

Ordered online to avoid the wait, noted I had celiac. Saw them putting it together as I walked in to pick it up and they did in fact get a new knife, new meat and change gloves as others have said. Was pretty good, I liked both the potato salad and coleslaw. Would go again.

The staff was very knowledgeable about gf options and got a new cutting board/gloves as soon as I said I was gluten free. The one downside is that all of their sides are in a buffet style arrangement, so I asked if they had any in the back that were separate and they said no. But I got the ribs and they were great and I didn’t get sick! Definitely check it out if you’re on broadway.

A must stop for us every time we’re in Nashville. The counter service knows exactly what precautions to take for gf customers; if you tell them, they’ll automatically change out their gloves and cutting boards. Plus the bbq cannot be beat. Run, don’t walk.

I got the smoked Turkey and beef brisket, with sides of coleslaw and the cinnamon apples. The meats and apples were average, the sauce and coleslaw was pretty good. However, I really appreciated all of their safety measures - glove change, cutting board and knife change, and even grabbing new meat from the back.

I mentioned that mentioned my food needed to be gluten free to the meat master, he instantly went and changed his glove, got a clean knife and fresh meat from the holding ovens. I looked at him and said "thank you " , he smiled back and said " I got ya!". So greatly appreciated that, the meat btw, amazing! They have several sides that are listed gf. However there is mack and cheese also available close by so I ordered sides that were located away from it. The potatoe salad was very yummy. Highly recommend! Worth standing in line for.

Gave this restaurant a try based on all the positive reviews.
The "pit master" handling the meat was so kind and understanding. He assured me that he would take care of me and he did! He changed gloves, cutting board, and knife for me. I wish I had stopped with the meat and bbq sauce as both were delicious.
When I got to the person handling the sides, I explained my situation and shared that I am sensitive to cross contamination then asked for some guidance on ordering. She simply pointed to a sign that explained which sides were GF. When I asked about cross contamination the side server looked to the cashier for guidance who in turn looked at me like I was the rudest person on the planet. No offer to grab fresh sides from the back.
I ended up completing my order because it had already been started and because I was a bit stunned by her response.
If you choose to eat here, maybe just eat meat or find somewhere else.

Maybe I just caught someone having an off day but I’m unsure how this place got so many excellent reviews. The person I asked about gluten looked at me like I had a 3rd head. She had absolutely no idea what I was talking about when I said I had celiac and was very rude. Needless to say I didn’t end up eating there.

Went in and asked about gluten free. The guy asked if I was celiac, said yes and he was like okay we’ll all change our gloves and he got a different cutting board and knife. All the meats and sauces are gluten free. I got the ribs with cucumber salad (which I personally didn’t like) and the potato salad (which I liked).

2022 Update:
I was in Nashville a couple months ago for a buddies bachelor party & ate here again twice with no issues. They clearly train all their staff the same way, and even though this place doesn't strike you as the type of place to take this stuff seriously, they clearly do. Still 5/5 on safety & food!
Original 2018 Review:
I didn't even have to mention the word gluten when I got here. As soon as I said, 'Hey I have celiac.' the guy cutting the meat started changing his gloves, got a fresh cutting board from the back and cut everything from fresh stock. Super smooth, straight forward process, which is a nice change. Food was pretty good too.

Heard they have some of the best BBQ in TN. As soon as I reached the counter and told Billy about being celiac, he told me he's well-versed. He changed his gloves, cutting board and knife for designated no glutened ones. After he prepared food, he passed it on to Daniel, letting him know to keep the food away from other food that had gluten. I'm floored with their precautions. Especially to Billy and Daniel, thank you.

Food was good and had a lot of gluten free options as all of the meats were gluten free. I told the guy cutting the meat I had a gluten allergy and he asked me if I was celiac at which point he wiped down the table, switched his gloves and got a new knife. The gluten free sides are clearly labeled on the menu and on the glass showing the options. Super safe but not the best barbeque I had in Nashville.

Like others have said in their reviews, after I told them me and my dad have celiacs they changed their gloves, got a new cutting board, and a new knife. They also took meat that hasn’t been cut yet so there was no cross contamination. All of the meat and sauces are gf. Some of the sides are gf, I chose the cucumber salad bc it was the furthest away from the non gf sides. I also got the ribs and chicken and didn’t get sick. It was busy so I was worried at first, but they knew what they were doing. I wish all places were this educated in celiacs and the precautions needed.

Delicious bbq! All meat and sauces are gf, and gf sides are clearly marked. The staff couldn’t have been nicer and accommodating. I told the staff member taking orders who also cuts the meat that I have Celiac, and he said, we got you. He then cleaned his cutting area, took away the used cutting board and knife, tossed his gloves and washed hands. He got a new cutting board, new knife, then asked what meats I wanted. He took the meat fresh from the oven where no one had yet cut it, and cut pieces for me. He handed me down to the staff member for sides, told him I had celiac disease. He changed gloves before getting my sides.
We ate here twice on vacation. I felt fine after. Totally recommend this place!
