Very few chains have impressed me like P.F. Chang’s. The first time I went, I was a little nervous since there aren’t many gluten-free options listed on the menu. I ordered the pad Thai, which was honestly very tasty and even came out on a separate color plate to signify it was gluten-free. The server seemed extremely confident that it was safe, and as a reactive celiac, I’ve had no issues. They clearly have a solid protocol for handling gluten-free food. My only wish is that there were more options. Overall, it’s an extremely solid choice for anyone sensitive to cross-contamination.
We went here based off of previous recent reviews. My daughter, who has Celiac, got sick after eating here. I feel like a waiter was knowledgeable, brought her food using their gluten-free in-house procedures, and tried his best, but cross-contamination must have been an issue.
Tried their GF chicken Lettuce wraps and GF broccoli beef. Both were very yummy and didn't seem to trigger a reaction. I also appreciate they list other possible allergens on the DD app you can select if those are an issue for you (fish, nuts, etc). My husband, who does not share my allergies but agreed to share the food cause the meals are huge, also really liked the food!
After a conversation to explain my concerns about gluten with the manager, the entire experience was wonderful. I felt all measures were taken to provide an excellent, gluten free meal. They explained their systems and did everything to reassure me that they were using separate utensils, wok, etc. The food was delicious and our waitress (Nikki) was wonderful. I highly recommend arriving at a time (we arrived at 3:45) that will allow them the time to implement all the necessary attention to lessen the chance of cross contamination.
Awesome gf options. Extensive gf menu. Wonderfully helpful waiter. Had the gf chicken fried rice, gf P.F. Chang's spicy chicken, and sushi. Pleased and satisfied. Looking forward to going back.
GF menu is small but adequate. Despite it being a chain, I trust this place because the risk of Cross contamination seems pretty low since most of the menu is already naturally gf when you change out the soy sauce. Told them we were eating gf, our server was awesome. He brought out a bottle of gf soy sauce, when we asked for straws he grabbed them with clean napkin when handing them to us (one of my biggest pet peeves as a person with food allergies is watching a server clear plates with half eaten food and wiping down counters with food covered rags then grab a straw with their dirty hands & plunk it down into my drink and having to ask for a whole new drink). He was trained very well and stated their protocol of food prep without us having to awkwardly ask. I felt like a normal person eating there. A little pricey but i don't mind paying since they take such care, amazing tasting food, and great atmosphere. I'd recommend the street noodles, spicy Chang's chicken, and mongolian beef of course! My only complaint, is that we had to ask for new plates and forks since the hostess who sat us laid the regular menu all over our clean plates and utensils. those menus get dirty and covered in food, and for someone with food allergies this is a big stressor. Most people just don't think about it, but if your serving those who have allergies it's something the front of the house should be doing, not just the cooks in the back of the house. The experience is just as important as the food. Either way, love PF Chang's!
I cannot believe this place has received good reviews! My daughter became sick within minutes of eating the food. I will accept partial blame because there were red flags. The manager on duty came to tell me I ordered something that wasn't gluten free according to the chef. When I pointed out to her that it was on the gf menu, she double checked with the chef and they agree he must be mistaken. Nope-not mistaken! It was an absolute nightmare to have my daughter get sick as she was moving into her dorm. Please please do not take your family there if you have celiac's or a high intolerance!
Great food and service. We had the gluten free lettuce wraps, shrimp pad Thai, shrimp in lobster bisque. We will definitely bring the rest of the gf family back here for other occasions.
I am greatly impressed. Since going GF and now soy free, I have not been able to enjoy as a in food in a restaurant. Wait staff was very knowledgeable, answered all. my questions, and took very good care of me to make sure had a pleasant and safe dining experience. I had the GF lemon chicken with brow. rice -- delish! Will definitely go back.
These people understand GF. I had a waitress in training that was assigned to my table, but really didn't understand the needs of GF people. The waitress trainer, Emily, heard my order and quickly came over to change out the sauces to ensure there was no cross contamination. It was unique and refreshing to have such great service and attention to detail. Great job Emily!
I have eaten here multiple times whenever we are in salt lake this is where we go. We have had one mishap that was figured out fast and the manager offered to pay for a visit to a doctor if I needed it. They were sincere and very willing to correct the situation. I will continue to eat here every time I'm in salt lake., and recommend it to anyone.
LOVE!!! PF Chang's makes me so happy. No matter the location, I've never had a problem with them. They're food is amazing, their service is wonderful, their choices are plentiful, and their staff is so knowledgeable. The ONLY problem I have with THIS location has nothing to do with gluten - they sprinkle white pepper on their gf fried rice (and maybe their regular fried rice too, I don't know) and I'm allergic to all kinds of pepper. It was a surprise I was none to happy with because that wasn't listed on the menu. However, now that we know it's not a problem to order it without the pepper. As for gf, everything here is amazing. I'd give PF Chang's ten stars if they'd let me!
Great good and gluten free menu. When we dine out, this is a regular spot.
Love the changs spicy chicken, amd many other options. Great food and options so can enjoy with non gf friends.
Told staff I could not have gluten, they couldn’t have cared less. I read a review saying they swapped the soy sauce for them, they did not for me. I ordered my food, and you get charged a dollar extra per gf item. I again told the staff I could not have gluten again when I ordered. I ate, and started having a reaction. They did not show a care in the slightest paid full price and went home disappointed.
I'm a repeat customer at this restaurant, having dined in and taken out multiple times without any issues. Their gluten-free options are great.
Favorites include the GF ginger chicken, GF Pad Thai and GF beef entrees, as well as their chicken lettuce wraps and fried rice. I appreciate that they offer GF soy sauce.
One caveat: beware of the fortune cookies, which contain gluten. Despite informing the staff of my dietary restrictions, I've received these cookies with my orders every time.
Be sure to double-check your order.
