Enjoyed the food. Waiter was very knowledgeable and very helpful when selecting menu items. However, my complaint is the menu is a bit deceptive - according to one of waitresses despite being labeled gluten free most of the Appetizers share a joint fryer with the other food thus making cross contamination a high risk - the chips however have a separate fryer and the tacos are correctly labeled so lost of the food is safe.
I enjoyed their guac and 3 different tacos and they were kind enough to remind the kitchen about celiacs. I would eat here again, the food and service were good and I had no reaction.
I currently work at this location and I’ve had nothing but a great experience. I have celiac and I’ve never had an issue eating here. The chefs are very knowledgeable, and they take many precautions regarding allergies of any type. ◡̈
Love their tacos, chips, margarita, guacamole, and salsa. You can choose from several types of seasonal tacos to make a mixed plate of tapas-sized tacos for yourself, and the flavors are wonderful. Have eaten here numerous times with confidence. Service is great and food outstanding.
Their menu highlights several gluten-free options. I have also found them to be very accommodating (when possible) with additional requests to omit items from a dish.
I have celiac disease and I am super sensitive and I never got a reaction from here. I told the waiter that I am allergic to gluten so he let me know what could be made gluten free. I ordered the shrimp tacos and my fiancée ordered the suiza enchilada also gluten free for me to try. Shrimp tacos were great. The enchilada was a little too spicy for my liking but perfect for my fiancée who enjoys spice. Food was great and service was great!
This has always been my go-to place living in San Diego and coming back to visit. We came back last night after like 10 months of being gone and basically our waiter said that there was VERY little on the menu that was truly celiac safe. He said all of the tacos were cross contaminated because of the melted cheese they put on the tacos. I tried to order the steak plate and he said that the steak seasoning had gluten in it (even though it’s marked as GF on the menu) and he even said that the chicken was marinated in soy sauce. So the only taco I could have had was plain pulled chicken or plain carnitas.
So I ended up ording a side of rice, a side of esquites corn and a side of carnitas meat. It was delicious but I HIGHLY recommend you ask for a manager to fully explain everything because we found it a bit confusing and also contradictory to the menu. So best check to be safe.
