Stopped while travelling and the waitor was very knowledgable on the menu and if he was not sure went to the kitchen for clarifcation.
Server was very knowledgeable. Food tasted amazing. Many options to choose from. Celiac and did not get sick.
The menu was clearly labeled and there were a lot of options to choose from. I enjoyed the buckwheat pancakes.
Wow! Found this place on this app. So happy! Delicious food, good portions and our server Tatiana was very knowledgeable. Can’t wait to go back. Menu items are well marked and modifications can be made to most items. The only negative is i had so many options it took me a bit to decide!
Great food. Great staff. I enjoyed the veggie chili and hummus with gf pita. No after-effects either 🤗
Ate breakfast and was disappointed that there are few GF options. And there isn’t a dedicated toaster and the home fries are deep fried. My basic omelette came with a small side of fruit. The coffee was good. And the waitress was attentive.
I was very impressed to find out that they have a separate toaster for GF toast. The server wasn't very knowledgeable, but she was happy to check with the kitchen when I asked questions. I had the avocado toast with eggs and it was really good! I decided not to try the GF pancakes because they are cooked on the same surface as other foods, but they do clean it off before making the GF pancakes. Given my good experience, I may try the pancakes in the future since it seems they do a good job of preventing CC.
This restaurant definitely still exists. The breakfast menu in particular is pretty great. The food is good, and neither my five year old son or I have had any issues.
Nice gluten free breakfast options labeled on menu. I had gluten free french toast which was excellent. They also have hormone antibiotic free meats. I would recommend this diner. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable.
Very good menu with lots options! Service and staff were knowledgeable and friendly. Food was tasty and delivered hot!
Some GF options marked on menu.
I'm a little biased because I love this place. They have clear marked items for gluten free and vegan. I have a favorite which is the Carmel French toast. Although I have tried several options on the menu and the farm to table is so refreshing and tasty.
I've been travelling in august 2024 at the USA for 2 weeks and the night after my dinner in Silver Dinner-Springfield was the only bad moment of it. Now I'm back to Spain and I'd like to tell you some comments about that issue.
After my gluten contaminatation I wrote to Silver Diner and their answer was not satisfactory.
They asked me if I still had "any adverse effects". That's it.
Then I explained them that coeliacs like me might (or might not) have diarrhea or other external effects but anyway as it is an autoimmune disease, exposure to gluten like the one I had at your restaurant can compromise our health and also aid to develop others autoimmune illnesses.
In my case I had stomach pain at night and bloody diarrhea in the morning, but this is not the more important effect. After eating gluten my body needs some time to recover and be able to absorb nutrients from food normally.
During the dinner, I asked the waitress if ice-tea had gluten and the waitress was not very helpfull. I had to go to the entrance and ask to have a look to the alergens document to make sure I could drink it.
They never replied my second email explaining all these, so I cannot recommend this place for unsafe.
