Repeat experience on another trip. Similar results. Positive experience.
Stopped in driving between Richmond and DC. My kid has CD but loves getting the gf French Toast. Asked for allergy protocol and please clean grill prior to cooking and use clean spatula. Not sure if they did, but waitress claimed to have asked. Food was good. No issues with side effects or symptoms.
Excellent food all the time. Lots of gf options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. My fav outage place to eat.

Not celiac safe
I’ve been glutened the last two meals. As mentioned, disappointed because I ate at the Springfield location for years with no issues.
Very cautiously I call this celiac friendly. The Springfield location does much better. Menu offers a lot of options, I love the omelettes and the fish is always great.
Three visits, staff knowledge of menu, gf options, and cross contamination varied widely. Once glutened, though I asked several times if the fries were gluten free, if they’re fried in their own fryer, stating I’m celiac, wheat will make me very sick. Fries came out and after the first bite, I thought coated in batter. Yup, they are. When I flagged her down and asked they said, oh, I thought you were just asking if they were in their own fryer. 😕
Not impressed with the selection. It’s not like a real diner either. I had the gluten free caramel French toast. It was good but so overpriced overall.
This diner is much better than the one in Springfield. Service was very nice & the food was really good. I stop here every time I'm in the area. Love it!
Went in for breakfast early on Sunday morning. Ordered a GF breakfast and asked them to please do an allergy alert or whatever was needed to ensure GF. Within an hour, I was very sick. This was serious cross contamination and put me down for over a day. I have eaten at other SD locations without an issue but we definitely will never be back to the Woodbridge store.
Loved the gf French toast. I'm celiac and had no issues. Was told they cook gf items on a separate grill space.
We recently went to the Silver Diner in Dale City. Our daughter has celiac and our son has gluten sensitivity. We explained it to the waiter, asked him to double check that our daughter's spaghetti would be cooked in non-glutened water, etc. When they brought the kids' food, our son's burger was on a regular (non GF) bun, so we went it back. We checked AGAIN that our daughter's spaghetti was GF, and were told it was. Within an hour after eating, our daughter was throwing up. There's no way the spaghetti was GF. When I emailed the restaurant, they didn't respond. Zero stars - I wouldn't trust this location at all. We've had better luck at other Silver Diner locations. This makes me not want to ever go out to eat again.
There is a small GF section on the menu. Mostly breakfast options: waffles, omelets, steak and eggs. Also veggie chili and turkey chili. There are milkshakes and a brownie sundae. They no longer have GF pasta. The waffles and turkey chili were delicious, but had symptoms afterwards. Maybe the shredded cheese?
I would definitely not eat here if you are sensitive. I ordered a steak (which came with mashed potatoes and greens) where it was gluten-free if you asked for no fried onions. I was also told that there was little risk for cross contamination, but that they would mark my allergy. Unfortunately, my meal came out with bits of fried onion on the greens. I only noticed after I had started eating it. I assume they accidentally put it on the plate then removed them. I informed the waitress, who was very apologetic, and simply asked for the meal to be removed from the check. They were nice about it, but I regret eating there.
