The gluten free pancakes are so delicious. They are light and fluffy. The omelets are huge and so filling. The staff is very knowledgeable of their gluten free menu.
We take my grandmother, who has celiac, here all the time and she has never had any problems. The staff is friendly and seems to be very knowledgeable. I highly recommend giving it a try. It's one of our favorite places!
I've been here many times and even brought a large group of visiting 'celiac' family members. Unfortunately the last time I was here the GF pancake was not edible. Perhaps they are no longer using the Pamela's mix?
Many Original Pancake House locations offer gluten free pancakes. Please speak to your server about taking the proper precautions to prevent cross contamination, if necessary.
Good selections of GF are now marked on the menu including pancakes, crepes, and bread. I chose the naturally GF omelette, so can't verify if the food would have been delivered with the reassuring gluten-free confirmation, but the staff seemed GF knowledgable. Good experience with a large family group.
Gf pancakes were wonderful! They can do gf waffles too. Just allow 15-20 min after ordering before you will get your food. This isn't a great place to go if you're starving to begin with.
Yes
I would not recommend eating here. The worst experience: 1. Serving gluten free pancakes w/ no gluten free syrup 2. The Manager brought me sugar free syrup and said with an attitude that might be the same thing o_O 3. The cheese omelette had some type of coating , it looked like it was more than over cooked and the hash browns were soaked in grease 4. I don't believe the gluten free pancakes/ waffles are cooked separate from the regular ones because the Manager clearly did not know what Gluten Free meant Eat here at your own risk!
No
It's not on the menu, but this place offers GF pancakes and waffles. You can order pretty much any of their fabulous flavors and they will make a GF batter for you. Your food will take longer because they make it when it is ordered vs their buttermilk batter that is already prepared. I had the GF pumpkin pancakes and you could barely tell the difference between GF and regular ( my husband taste tested for me).
They have gluten sensitive pancakes. This is not shown on their website or menu, but the server showed me several types of pancakes that can be made with this batter. They also have omelet & egg selections.

Got sick from the veggie sausages and it was completely awful. Not gluten free friendly.
The gluten-free pancakes were solid and appreciated. They have fresh blueberry syrup also which was terrific.

OK here's my honest review going to the Original Pancake House with Celiac. They have several gluten free options, which is super cool. They can make any pancake gluten free, however, I have no idea what ingredients are in their add ons for pancakes and honestly I'm not sure the wait staff fully knows either. Due to that lack of confidence, I ordered plain GF pancakes. They tasted excellent and I highly recommend. The caveat is how sensitive are you and how willing are you to take a legit chance in potentially getting glutened? They do cook the pancakes on a separate griddle, but they use the same cooking utensil as regular pancakes, so the potential is there for cross contamination. I would avoid the waffles because they are cooked in the same waffle iron. I took a chance on the pancakes and I think I will be safe. I would stay away from ANY sides as they are cooked on the same griddled as the gluten foods. If I get glutened I am confident it is because I did not ask the right questions related to meat prep BEFORE I took a bite of the ham I ordered. So if you decide to roll the dice on this one and hope against hope because you just want to have a "normal" meal out with your family because celiac is HARD, I would recommend sticking with straight up GF plain pancakes. Hope that helps you all! Have a good day!
