I told the server I had celiac disease, explicitly asked her to indicate that I was GF on my ticket, and she did not. She also told me the chips are cooked in the same fryer as everything else, so I did not have any. Anyway, I ordered the airstream salad with the grilled chicken and have been sick all day :(

Due to the hand crafted nature of our food, variations in our supplier ingredients, and our use of shared cooking and preparation areas, we cannot ensure that our food is free from any allergens. We prepare our foods following procedures to prevent allergen cross-contact, but products containing wheat are made in our kitchens.
I mean, it’s possible, but they follow the alerts on the ticket really well so as long as the server writes it down
Killer tacos, great guac, although pretty damn spicy, chips are gf, never been sick here. Lots of options, probably 65? Percent of the menu can be gf, definitely try the Democrat taco and the fried avocado (unfried though) (it’s straight up just like huge chunks of avocado and beans but it’s freakin tasty)
Apparently their non-gf tacos are also really good

I’ve tried eating here a few times, and every time I get sick. I’m Celiac, I order off of the gluten friendly menu, and talk to them about allergies. I suspect they don’t understand how to be safe in their kitchen.
No
They have a GF menu. The green chili taco was awesome!
This place is kind of hit or miss with being Celiac friendly. I definitely got a taco on a flour tortilla after talking with the girl who took my order about Celiac and gluten. The food is very good and cheap and filling, but it’s risky.
GF queso and chips are the bomb - they have GF tacos too - but I recommend trying to go off hours - I worry about CC when they are super swamped!
Yes
Staff was not attentive and tacos were way spicy for me. I also had to send two back because they came out with gluten. Would not recommend.

We love Torchy’s! We have been eating Torchys Tacos for years in Austin and we’re over the moon they opened in Denver! My son and I have the allergy and we make sure we order taco bowls off the GF menu (oddly you have to ask for it at this location vs it being in the menu bins)
Asked for a non-fried avacado taco twice in a row after explaining that my girlfriend has celiac disease. Twice in a row we've had to send it back because they gave us fried avacado in the taco.
Even worse, after we make the order and emphasize the gluten free and please don't fry it, they tell us they understand when they clearly dont.
This place is always busy. There are plenty of gf tacos on the menu and the chips and guacamole and salsa are GF too. The frenetic pace worried me but I've been here twice and didn't get sick. Try the Crossroads taco. So good!
Several GF options, but a lot of cross-contamination. I've eaten here twice. The first time I felt off, like extremely mild contamination. Then the other night I was horribly sick by the time we left. It's two days later and I'm still having major reaction. I very clearly told them it was an allergy, and was reassured they would be careful.

Lots of gluten free options!
Excellent tacos at a decent price. Most of their menu items are GF. Let the staff know you're GF and they will mark it in your order.

Summary -
Yummy but had issues ordering from the gluten conscious menu and chips are in shared fryer.
Story -
When I asked the server about gluten they immediately brought over the manager. Manager was great! They brought me the “gluten conscious” menu, explained that the chips are fried separately but the oil from both fryers are combined (so not GF but listed on the menu). I ordered the baja shrimp taco and the brisket taco on corn tortillas, mentioning the gluten allergy/menu to the server.
When the food came out, the shrimp was breaded and fried (so not GF), so we sent back with the server to redo. Then we realized that my partner’s burrito had vegan meat instead of the beef he ordered (burritos are not GF). He mentioned to manager who happened to walk by. Manager went back to kitchen and didn’t come back out until our food was out and correct. Everything was really good, including the mexican rice and street corn sides.
We tried to pay but the manager comped our meal. Very nice!
There is a bar and specialty cocktails but we didn’t try any.

Tasty tacos on corn tortillas, no GF info on menu and only 1 fryer.

The person behind the counter seemed a bit unsure in dealing with gluten free requests, but then she also couldn't tell me what white wine they had, so she must have been new. Be sure to look at the "gluten conscious" menu to know your options before you order. That said, the chips are made in a dedicated fryer, and the queso and GF tacos we picked were great.

The person who took my order was very knowledgeable about the menu and which items contained gluten and were safe. Food was absolutely delicious!

This location is great. Plenty of seating and the food is always good. Unfortunately they don’t have a dedicated fryer so bring your own chips so you can enjoy some of the best Queso in the Austin area.
