Sadly this establishment is off my rotation. I considered ordering the GF pancakes and asked about dedicated GF grill and they said they clean it down but it’s not dedicated. Opted for the lasagna instead since it’s self contained and GF but by the time I was walking out (service was slow) I had the telltale gluten bloat belly going. Can’t be trusted by celiacs.
Excellent service & food. I have been to this location 3 times already & each time they have been very cautious with my Celiac sensitive family members. Guac & Chips (dedicated oven), Filet, Burger, Bun, Stir Fry, and veggies have all been excellent. GF Allergy labeled foods have been served by the manager on duty. Non GF foods look delicious too!
What a great experience, the staff and the food are both excellent. GF menu items are marked but our server let us know its a scratch kitchen so even if there isn’t a GF next to it, chances are it can be modified to GF. We had the hummus with GF pita which wasn’t listed on the menu as GF but they modified it and the tuna poke bowl was really flavorful. Saturdays and Sundays they offer brunch that include pancakes!
The waiter brought out the food and informed us that it was made for a gluten allergy. it was a delicious lunch. Items are clearly marked in the menu.
1st visit to KOP True Food Kitchen but have always had great experience at other TFK’s in Scottsdale and Fairfax. Only thing missing on the their menu was a Bison option to add to entrees. I had the GF fish(Bass) tacos. Update 1/4/20 another fantastic meal this time started with beet and cheese flat bread and followed with Spicy Panang Curry added tofu see photo A++! Update 7/25/22 more great meals! Repeat performance on the Spicy PNA g Curry and Tofu. The Mrs had the Poke Bowl and raved about it. A++++
Staff were very friendly, lots of GF options on the menu (went for Sunday AM brunch). They noted a gluten allergy when they served each of my dishes...which felt odd at first but was reassuring that the message really made it from the server to the chefs to the food runner. I’m newly diagnosed so I may not notice if I “get glutened” but I look forward to returning here.
I was a bit skittish coming to this place since the last review was posted a just a week before my visit, but it was for a work dinner and I didn’t schedule the location and - well you guys know how the social aspect of celiacs can be.. I ordered a chicken dish that looked like there was minimal possibility of having gluten (not something like pad Thai) and was very specific with the waitress about having an allergy and food preparation. I’m pleased to report that not only was the dish amazing, but I had no issues afterwards! Here’s to hoping the last users review was an unfortunate fluke incident and a reminder to myself not to get complacent just because the reviews are great - I still need to express how serious I take it myself! The menu even had some AIP friendly options, which I’m sure it a super rarity if you’re trying to figure out other allergies/food intolerances!
I was so excited to try out this restaurant since it received a 100% celiac safe rating. The menu had a lot of GF items including banana pancakes! I was so excited and comfortable ordering off this menu. The staff was very knowledgeable and I didn’t think there would be a problem. I realized how wrong I was four hours later as I started to violently throw up the heuvos rancheros. At first I thought it could be food poisoning, but everyone else at my table ordered the same and no one else had a problem. I’ve had celiac disease for seven years now and this is only the second time I’ve thrown up. The first time was when I was first diagnosed and I was testing my sensitivity by eating a fried Oreo (not smart). For me to have a reaction like this I had to have gotten a serious amount of gluten in my food. Really sad this place didn’t work out, it was so tasty (not so much the second time around).
Waitress knew about GF needs when I asked questions. She did say all pizzas are cooked in the same oven. (Not sure if it’s a convection oven). I ordered the charred cauliflower appetizer. Very light and good with a slight hint of lime. I had a fish taco and a steak tacos. (Order tacos and you get two - fish or steak or both) Came with a side of baked beans in a cup. Came with sour cream and avocado and shredded cabbage on a GF shell. They don’t offer sodas but offer drinks such as a squeezed apple drink which I had. Very good! Had a flourless chocolate dessert also very good!
The absolute best for GF. Roughly 30% of their menu is gluten free, and most of their dishes can be made so on request. They also asked me if my gluten free request was a preference of an allergy - and I formed me that as it was for an allergy, they would alert the chefs so strict gf procedures could be followed. I had the charred cauliflower, the shrimp curry, and the squash pie for dessert. Everything was amazing and I’m so so thrilled to have found a restaurant that takes gf so seriously.
I had Roasted Cauliflower, Roasted Heirloom Carrots, Fish Tacos (sea bass). My husband and I shared 2 desserts: flourless chocolate cake and squash pie. Everything was so fresh and delicious. The desserts were sweet but not heavily laden atih sugar. They have many GF options that are clearly marked on the menumMy belly was happy and calm after this meal and I woke up feeling great...a clear sign that I wasn't glutened unintentionally.Highly recommend.
I tried the gluten free chicken tenders and it was not good. They were cold, the breading didn’t taste good and you could tell there was no care put into it. Overall this gluten free menu lacks flavor and touch.
