Menu states gluten free crust is available but they cannot guarantee no cross contamination. Gluten free pizza was delicious! Service was friendly and fast.

We ordered from them several times for their gf pizzas, i don't know if things have changed since all the good 2019 reviews but was horribly ill within an hour suggesting huge gluten issues. Pizza was delicious but we will never eat there again as we tried twice and got extremely ill each time. Must make in same area or cook on same surface or both.

Passing through Charleston we stopped here to enjoy the patio on a super warm day. Partner is GF/DF and they adjusted their signature pies however we needed. Also had the wings without their cheese based sauce and they were the best wings I have had in awhile. Pizzas also did not disappoint at all. Halfway through our meal we were planning lunch at Pies and Pints in Morgantown as we passed because we enjoyed this experience so much. (Note, Pies and Pints Morgantown also did not disappoint)

The menu says a GF crust is available for $2 extra, so my daughter ordered a pizza on that. A few minutes later the manager came over and said they were out of that crust but they offered her a cauliflower crust that he thought was even better. When her pizza arrived, it was burnt to a crisp, visibly inedible. The manager came back to see if she liked it and admitted it was a little “crispy,” but said those cauliflower crusts are pretty crisp. Crisp wasn’t the issue; this pizza was black on the edges and bottom. But he and our server said they’d make her another one; he also said he’d take her pizza off our bill. The new pizza was much, much better. They did charge us for it, which was fine since they’d brought her a better one. In the end, we all thought the pizzas were just ok, not very flavorful, but the salad we ordered to share was delicious (a seasonal salad with arugula, goat cheese, dried cherries, and pistachios).

Very pleasantly surprised! GF/DF pizza. Cheese looked so legit I double checked!! Got some gf wings as well, along with a gf local on tap cider. Tried a gf canned beer but it was filled with sediment & when I checked date it was 9/2021. But on tap local cider!!

I have Celiac Disease and have eaten at this location at others several times. The gf pizza and chicken sandwich are outstanding! My family enjoys the gluten pizza and Caesar salads. The staff are always friendly and I feel very safe and satisfied eating there. This is a must visit pizzeria for anyone eating gf!!! Keep up the great work!

I was super happy to find a gluten free pizza option as I was passing through West Virginia. The service was great and the gluten free crust option was listed on the menu (with a cross contamination caveat). Unfortunately, I didn’t like the pizza. The crust had an ok flavor, but was very thick and seemed over-powering. The sauce was thin and oddly plopped on top of the cheese in some places.
Based on some of the other positive reviews, I’m wondering if maybe it was just a bad night!

They are able to make any pizza on a gluten free crust as well as dairy free cheese available! Informed waitress of all the allergies and she did a great job recommending ands designing a pizza to fit it. Really recommend the pesto or heirloom tomato pie!

We were visiting from out of town. Pies & Pints was great! My son has celiac and had the Gluten Free crust with pepperoni and pineapple. Crust was slightly sweet, not too crispy, just the right texture. Ingredients were very fresh. Definitely recommend!!

We just had lunch at Pies and Pints while passing through Montgomery….absolutely enjoyed it. We arrived as soon as they opened at 11, the greeter (not sure what her name was) but she was so friendly and welcoming. We were seated promptly with our waitress Sydnee and she was very patient with our party of 11, 6 of those being kids 12 and under. I have celiac so she was very knowledgeable in answering questions I had concerning ciders and dressings for salad. They don’t have a separate gluten-free menu but there are items marked on the menu. I had the nachos for an appetizer, and they were delicious. For my entree I had the Antipasto salad with grilled shrimp…another excellent choice. I did have a Watermelon Mint cider that was yummy also. I hope to pass through again soon so I can try some other options.

Eaten here regularly for several years ans have always been impressed with their knowledge of cross contamination concerns and their willingness to accommodate. They do not make their gf crusts in-house, so that eliminates some risk. They do a glove change and use new ingredients for toppings.

Pies & Pints is our very favorite place to get pizza locally. They do an excellent job with both Gluten and Dairy allergies. Plus their GF crust is a bit fluffier and not as dense as some places (cough, cough Mellow Mushroom). We’ve had lots of fantastic experiences here. They also have vegan cheese and you can basically build your own pizzas. Two thumbs up!

Firstly, thank you to everyone here who mentioned the gluten free pizza is a square shape. That is a really nice way to visually see they heard my order through my mask correctly.
Pizza was great and they answered questions. I had.

(Feb 2021) Wanted to update that we stopped here again this year (2 years from our first stop) and got takeout. They made sure everything was gluten free and it was delicious with no issues! We got the marinated grilled chicken and the hero both as gluten free.
We had great service, our food came out quickly and it was very good! We got gluten free pizza, a gluten free marinated grilled chicken sandwich.

Gluten free beer and wings. I'm in celiac heaven with this place. Not a ton of options, but our server was knowledgeable. I've been back several times.

Best crust I’ve EVER had! So soft and fluffy- doesn’t taste GF but you know it is because they make their gluten frees square instead of a circle. Pricey but you actually get a good amount of food.

I spoke to them on the phone and asked a lot of questions about their gluten free protocol. They do not have a separate gluten free oven. They use the same toppings out of the same containers for both gf and regular. High risk for cross contamination.

Fantastic pizza!! Got GF cheese and bacon (and I won't lie- it looked like every other flavorless, rice flour crust pizza, so I was bummed), but it was SOOO good! Super impressed! Thanks guys!!
Yes
My celiac daughter who is very sensitive to any cross contamination was able to order from here twice without getting sick. The first time she ate a steak and cheese sub on gluten free bread. The second time she ordered a pepperoni pizza. She enjoyed both meals with no problems.
We eat here all the time! The Gouda pizza gives my husband some problems so probably should stay clear of that. The wings and chips and salsa are so good!!!
Lots of selections but I thought the pizza was very dry.
I recognize that there are a couple GF options on the menu, which I haven’t tried. While the GF pizza crust was pretty tasty, maybe the best I’ve had, it was not a safe environment for the very sensitive. Within 30 minutes I was quite ill from the GF pizza.
No
Staff definitely knew about Celiac and asked before as they wanted to inform the kitchen. Food was excellent!
Yes
Wonderful gluten free pizza and other items clearly marked on the menu. When I ordered a gluten free pizza, the server asked specifically about celiac and explained that it is not a dedicated gluten free facility, but that all precautions would be taken to avoid cross contamination. I had a very good experience here.
Yes
Their crust is amazing and they are very knowledgeable and considerate about gluten free and able to answer any questions.
Yes
The last 2 times I have been here, I have gotten glutened. This is after telling the waitress I was Celiac. I won't be returning.
No
Call ahead. They were out of gf crust when we went.
the gluten free pizza crust is the best I have had. anything on the menu can be made gluten free. they have a separate oven space for the gluten free pizzas. staff and manager were wonderful. I will definitely be back.
Yes
They offer gluten free pizza crust and gluten free sandwiches. They also have salads, which are huge! I had a steak and cheese sandwich, and it was a good size and tasted great. They made sure to mention it was gluten free when they delivered if, which always gives me peace of mind.
All pizzas can be made gf with a crust my sister who has celiac enjoyed. Their nachos are also delicious. Everything is clearly labeled gf on the menu! The root beer is a must to try!
Yes
Good GF pizza. In addition to the things everyone else has pointed out in their reviews so far, the GF pizza is a different shape (square) than everyone else's pizza, so it's one additional way to visibly ease my stress when they bring my food out so I don't need to confirm with them again that yes, this is indeed GF. I enjoyed my pizza and will likely be back.
Yes
One of my favorites for sure! The pulled pork nachos are a must and their gluten free pizza is by far the best that I have tried. Waitress was very reassuring that everything I ordered would be safe and prepared with separate gloves, trays etc.
Yes
Really good. And when I say really good, I mean REALLY good. Excellent staff, everyone was super sweet and friendly. Even got to meet the owner who came up to our table and chatted for a bit. The atmosphere was sweet, reminded me of dragon kings daughter and impellizzeris combined. The pizza was delicious. My family and I are severe celiacs. We ordered the pizza just saying we'd like it gluten free and didnt mention being celiacs. Came out feeling full and untouched by gluten♥
I used to eat the pizza here but after learning of all the flour in the kitchen and the cross contamination I stopped eating the pizza. I will however eat the wings and the pork nachos! Never had a problem with either of those
Delicious gf pizza, great staff!
Menu lists GF options and celiac statement, but they don't seem to have a separate prep area and being a pizzeria that's a problem. With that said, I had a salad and didn't have any issues.
Great local restaurant with plenty of gluten free options. The wait staff was knowledgeable and patient with my requests for extra care in the kitchen. They can adjust almost all sandwich options to be gluten free. I had a wonderful lunch here and felt listened to. That, and being able to order a gluten free beer, is always a plus.
