Friends and I ordered some of the big combo meals. Fortunately gf is labeled on their menu and they seem to be pretty good cause I had no reaction!

Amazing experience! Most of their sauces are gluten free and they really are. The menu is labeled with a nice little “gf” to help you navigate. The only place it’s not labeled is the all you can eat section that just lists what you can order. We went back to the single servings to confirm the “gf” before ordering. I also let the waiter know I was celiac/ gluten free from the beginning so he would double check if we went confident on something or had questions.
I didn’t have any side effects after either. Our waiter was great (Desmond)! We also signed up for their rewards which can help you save even more on amazing meat! 10/10 experience!

Loved that they had a gluten free menu online and all sauces were gluten free. I would pay more and get the better cuts of beef next time instead of the entry level 2 person course. It's a cool experience but I would consider a set up from Applebees. Not authentic, but great if you have food allergies.

Service was really good. Most of their marinades and all of their dipping sauces were gluten free. Everything is well labeled too. Felt very safe eating here. Plus you grill most of your own food so that lowers risk of contamination.

I was really excited to try this place after the great reviews from celiacs. It was concerning though, as soon as we got there. I explained my celiac disease to our (very young) waiter who had no idea what gluten is. I asked him to get the manager - she came over and said, oh, don’t worry - we can leave the sesame seeds off of everything. I had to explain that sesame seeds are not gluten. It’s wheat, rye and barley. Should have left then but she assured me almost everything was GF and they would be careful.
First time I’ve gotten CC at a restaurant this year. Sick all night, you know the drill. Needless to say, I will not be going back and recommend you proceed with caution here.

Absolutely amazing place to feel day and eat well. Everything is clearly marked GF and there are many options for Japanese good that we don’t regularly get to have. Staff is super sweet and always willing to help.

The menu clearly labels which items are gluten-free. I also confirmed with the waiter which items I could and couldn't eat. Having recently eaten there, I can personally say that I don't feel glutened, but I would still ere on the side of caution and inform the staff if Celiac.

They were incredibly helpful! They told us what was gluten-free with every dish they brought out. Even the soy sauce was gluten-free.

The food is DELICIOUS every time! I have pretty severe celiac, and I didn’t get any reaction. You cook your own entrees on the table’s grill, but they are cleaned thoroughly in between uses. The menu is very clearly marked for what is and isn’t gluten free, and the staff is very knowledgeable and helpful with allergies. Most of their menu is gluten free, but if someone you’re with orders a gluten-containing food item, just be sure to cook your entree before they do and you’ll be fine! I cannot recommend this restaurant enough!

We explicitly told the server of my celiac gluten allergy and he assured me that all the sauces and marinades were gluten free. He then brought soup and salad to the table, which I proceeded to eat, and thought to double check. The manger came over and said that the soup, salad and rice dish I ordered were not gluten free! Apparently we had a “newer” server. Ask for the manager next time you go there to make sure! Other than that, the gluten free food was tasty but unfortunately I got sick.

Fantastic spot for gluten free Japanese BBQ with lots of menu options
Yes
Been here many times. Most of the sauces are now GF and the staff has been spot on as I have had extremely tasty dishes with zero issues.
The menu clearly marks GF items. They also said all marinades and table sauces are GF. They were also good at being able to do plain veggies without butter for our dairy allergy. Our server wasn’t knowledgeable unfortunately but did go check in the kitchen with our questions. The food was delicious. TBD if it’s celiac friendly and if I get sick from any kind of cross contamination.
You can eat almost everything!
Yes
Good food and service. All of their sauces are now gf. I never feel great about their answers when I inquire about gluten, regardless of who my server is, they always have to ask someone else. But their servers are friendly and always happy to find the answers they don’t have.
So very good. Was such a refreshing experience to have so many DELICIOUS gf options!
Lots of GF options clearly indicated on the menu. Staff was knowledgeable. All the meats you grill at the table are GF except the chicken, as are the sauces. Great happy hour drink prices. Fun restaurant with great service. Make a reservation, it gets crowded.
Tons of gluten free options and sauces and delicious !
Yes
The food was very good, most of their marinades are gluten free. They were kind enough to alter the fried rice to make it gluten free. I didn’t get sick and I’m extremely sensitive.
Yes
Wife ate here and they were very good at making sure that everything was safe. The manager and team really looked after her. Thanks guys!
Yes
First time going to Gyu Kaku! I had such a great experience. Everyone was aware of what had gluten and what didn’t. Most of the marinades are gf except 1. Definitely will be going back.
Japanese BBQ Place! Amazing staff was very knowledgeable and all meats are marinated GF. All soy sauces are GF as well. It’s delicious and celiac friendly!
Yes
I previously gave this place 3 stars but am going to up it to 4 because they’ve recently introduced gluten free marinades and sauces. That means almost all of their meats can be ordered with GF marinade. Most other things on the menu aren’t gluten free, other than the white rice and edamame. Even the salad dressing has gluten in it, and a lot of the appetizers are fried. However, it’s a super fun place to go as a group and everyone really leaves happy. The only issue is the language barrier. Some of the servers speak English perfectly, others it’s clearly a second language for them. It can be a little daunting when you can’t be 100% sure they understood you and your allergy. However, the last time I went we had a server who didn’t seem very knowledgeable about gluten, but after I ordered she came back and told me how one item I ordered wasn’t actually gluten free. That made me feel a little better, she saved me from a lot of pain later! Overall, if you’re going here with a group, rest assured you can find something to eat without stressing too much.
Most of the sauces were safe, just be careful with the shared cooking surfaces.
Very sad, we went back today for the second time. Ordered only one steak marinade and explained in detail to the server who understood completely, go checked with the kitchen , she said it was safe. 3 plates of the same steak later manager comes out and tells us the server gave us the marinade with gluten. I mean what... And yes I’m feeling it now
No
The gluten-free options are a little confusing on the menu, but ask your server for help. Basically, half of the meat options can be done without marinade and seasoned with salt and pepper instead. They are still great cuts of meat. Then you cook the meat at your table, and they have several gluten-free dipping sauces to choose from. Some sides are gluten-free (rice, veggies), and they have mochi for dessert!
Place is amazing. If you are at the Beverly Hills location ask for Mark. He’s my go to guide for the gluten free world of Gyu-kaku. The sweet soy and spicy soy on the table are gluten free (don’t touch the ponzu). Also you can order meats and chicken without the marinade. The salt and pepper and basal marinades are gluten free. Love this place. Mark, as always you are my homeboy.
Never bee glutened. My favorite Japanese BBQ!
This restaurant is not gluten free friendly by any means. Unless all you want to each is grilled meat. Staff was not knowledgeable about gluten free options either.

Love this place! Has gluten free noodles, drinks, dessert, and a whole new experience.
