We’re traveling through Tallahassee and needed somewhere safe for our celiac daughter to eat. We chose here from the reviews. When we walked in we asked about gluten free and the man behind the counter said yes. But stated that ingredients were pulled from the same bin as non gf and there was flour allllll over the counter. We chose not to eat here due cross contamination. Prep area was very dirty.

This place is awesome. We came based on the recommendations here. They have a new digital menu that doesn’t have the gluten free info on it, but when we asked, there was no problem. They have both a gluten-free and cauliflower crust. I ordered the Jamaican Jerk Chicken pizza. As we were paying, the young man who took our order came up and apologized that the pineapple for the pizza may have been contaminated by gloves used for other pizzas. Since I have an allergy to gluten, he wanted to let me know and see if I wanted to go without or order something else. As I thought it over, another young man , who was ringing us up, went into the back and opened another huge can of pineapple so I could get the full Jamaican Jerk (which was delicious, especially because of the pineapple). This was the end of the night by the way. Everyone couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful, and the pizza was delicious (my husband had The Big Max and loved it). You won’t be disappointed.

The staff are very knowledgeable about allergies. They know to switch gloves when you say you have an allergy and I have heard the owner correcting a staff member if they do anything that might cross contaminate the food. I have bad gluten and dairy allergies and the pizza is one of the best gluten free pizzas I have had. I have never gotten sick here, which is a huge blessing!

My first time here and I couldn’t be more impressed and pleased with my meal and overall experience! They were very knowledgeable about celiac, changed gloves, separated pans, all toppings and sauces came from separate containers. I had the truffle mushroom pizza and a Greek salad. All dressings are also GF. Didn’t get sick, and was very tasty!

Uncle Maddios has a separate cooking area for gluten allergies. They ask when you ask for a gluten free crust if it’s preference or allergy. They use completely different ingredients than they do for non allergy ingredients

Had a great gluten free pizza (the Italian minus the sausage). Best thing about this Uncle Maddio’s experience is the manager (I think) caught a mistake before I started eating my pizza and immediately made me a new one, himself, to ensure I was safe. This shop and the workers in the shop take gluten free dinner’s needs very seriously - it is not just words.
I will absolutely come back to eat here anytime I am in the area. Thanks again for a great later in the evening dinner!

Excellent service. When you ask for gluten free crust, they ask if it's an allergy and if you say yes, they immediately begin their safety protocol. And they always seem perfectly happy to do it. Change gloves, separate utensils, separate cooking sheet, ingredients from a gluten safe area. The pizza is great too! They also offer vegan cheese.

All staff that handled my pizza changed gloves immediately upon learning of my Celiacs. All toppings (including sauce) came from separate containers. They also had designated pans for GF crust.

When you ask for a gluten free item the first thing asked is “preference or allergy” if you answer allergy, the preparer immediately goes to wash his/her hands and put on clean gloves. Then you are directed to a separate preparation station where your pizza is prepared to your liking. The preparer then announces to the oven tender that this is a “gluten free allergy” order. When the pizza comes out of the oven it is brought to you and again announced as gluten free. I have never had a problem after eating here and continue to go back when I am in Jonesboro.

They are sooo easy to work with. They wiped down the counters and were super careful. Got toppings from the back and changed utensils. Very Knowledgeable about celiac. Been twice without issues. The sausage is NOT GF but the hamburger is amazing.

I’d give 10 stars if I could. Every time I go, I make sure to thank the workers because out of all of the restaurants I’ve been to since being diagnosed, they make sure the food is 100% GF. They’re amazing at cleaning the prep area (there is not a designated GF area, but the shared space is cleaned very well), the gloves are changed, new toppings are used from the back, the GF pizza is placed in the oven by itself and all of the workers are in communication that the pizza is GF. It’s the protocol that should be used every where, but rarely is. These people do it with a smile. I’ve eaten here several times and have never been ill. We love this place and will continue to go back!

Best pizza place in town! I have never felt uncomfortable, or at the risk at cross-contamination.

I come here when visiting my sister and the GF pizza is always amazing! They know how to safely prepare a GF pizza, too. My sister and I are both Celiacs and never gotten sick.

Their pizza was amazing and was even able to have the wings since they are baked. Can do delivery via DoorDash. I did call and talk to someone and he was super helpful! Plus who doesn’t love a side of GF ranch!!

Very allergy friendly. They washed down the work area, changed gloves before beginning on my food. Gluten free pizza!

Under new name. Guy behind counter was clueless. I asked if they had gluten free crust and he said yes. Then I asked if they put them on separate trays or changed gloves and he looked at me like I had horns growing out of my head so we left. Such a shame because uncle Maddie’s was great.
No
When I asked for a GF crust, he knew immediately to change gloves, pull all fresh ingredients, and use clean utensils. They know how to prepare and handle the food to avoid cross contamination which is a must for Celiacs.

Great place! One of the employees was telling me that her mom has Celiac, so she totally got it! They asked if it was a preference or allergy. They also have a keto option! (Even though I didn't know that until after they made my salad). Even though I have Celiac, I am keto so I didn't eat the pizza but my daughter loved hers. I recommend going here if you are in town.

Staff was very friendly and accommodating! Lots of options and cheaper than chains like Papa John’s. Pizza is the best I’ve had since going gluten free!

Great toppings choices. Reasonable prices. Crust is the frozen kind, but when you’re traveling through and want pizza, it’s a nice option.

Maddio's is definitely not celiac-friendly. A few months ago, I was served a regular pizza, when I had ordered a gluten-free pizza. I ate an entire piece and was starting on a second piece when a server walked out with my gluten-free pizza and informed me that the pizza I was eating was NOT gluten-free. In almost 12 years of celiac disease, this was the first time that anything like this had happened to me. I had issues resulting from this error for several months, because I got "glutened." The manager and staff seemed to have no idea at all of how serious this was for someone with celiac disease. Needless to say, I have not returned to this restaurant. It is a shame, since it was one of my favorites before they made this serious mistake. I would say that celiacs are taking a big risk to eat here. People with just gluten intolerance might be "ok." I am just not willing to take this risk again, since the results affect health for many months later, while the small intestine heals from the gluten damage.

Wow! So impressed! I told them gluten free crust and he immediately changed his gloves and asked me to come over to the allergy end of the counter. They have a completely separate gluten free surface and gluten free toppings. He didn't leave my pizza from start to finish so it was sure to be safe. I didn't even have to ask, he just did it. On top of that, the pizza was definitely one of the best GF pizzas I've ever had! I think I'm in love! Be sure to sign up for rewards, you get a free pizza when you do.
Update: Went last night and even though I watched them pull every from the allergy counter, I got BBq sauce which came from the other end. Big mistake on my part. Definitely paying the price. Next time, only sauces from the allergy side.
Yes
Very nice staff! Asked preference versus allergy. I never know how to answer that.... seemed like cross contamination possible but everything was very good and I didn’t get sick.
This place is great for celiacs. First they confirmed if I ordered gluten free crust for medical reasons. They put the crust on paper and then on a pan to keep it from touching the oven surface and took cheese and toppings from fresh containers under the counter. The crust is thin and basic, but the pizza was tasty overall.
Yes
Lots of gluten free options. Staff is highly knowledgable, accommodating, and friendly.
Be sure to alert them to any medical concerns regarding cross-contamination. They have a separate preparation area with safe ingredients. The only change that I would recommend would be clearly labeled take out boxes, though it is shown on the receipt, and they told us which boxes were the gluten free pizzas in our order. We will certainly be ordering again. Delicious. Highly recommended.

This is a very safe, relatively inexpensive gf pizza option if you’re looking for a quick bite to eat! Make sure to tell them you have an allergy, ask them to change their gloves and put down a sheet of wax paper on top of the cooking sheets that they use, just to be extra safe :)
