Staff is knowledgeable. Gluten free pizza’s baked in a tin foil basket, which may have been the best pizza I’ve had. Pasta available as well, however you should ask to have it prepared separately and with clean tools/gloves. They are willing to do this.
Advertised as having gluten free pasta. However, they don’t change the water. My celiac kid even explained how that cross contaminated the gf pasta and he was told, “well. You can have a salad.”Yea. That’s what every 17 year old kid wants.
Went to one of the locations close to accommodation. Had the bolanase pasta which was overcooked. The sauce wasn't the greatest either. A good point I didn't have a reaction. An option if you can't find anything else.
This Vapiano is definitely not schooled enough to take care of celiacs. Been there 3 times, and each time stuff was badly informed, once products which should be never out of stock were not available at the cooking station and nobody bothered taking a look in the storage. Once the pizzaolo told me gf Pizza is out of stock, his manager noticed this and brought pizza from the storage. Once they made normal pizza and assured me it was gluten free, so I believed them and had pains and other typical celiac problems for 3 days. I reported this to the HQ, but nothing happened.
Typisch Vapiano. Essen geschmacklich super, Personal geschult und hier passte im Gegensatz zu anderen Vapianos auch die Wartezeit.
Had gluten free pasta. May see if they have pizzas next time.
Part of the Italian restaurant chain, offering gf pizza, pasta and risotto. Gf pizzas are baked on separate trays in the oven, so safe to eat for coeliacs. It is self-service and you watch the staff make your pasta and risotto in front if you - they use fresh pans and utensils for every customer.
Wondeful place to eat! They knew exactly what I was asking for and very careful in the preparation of my food. Best Gluten Free Pizza I have had and the salad was heavenly. The salad was huge and the pizza was full size. Highly Recommed It.
Well trained staff about contamination
You can eat everything glutenfree. They know what the rules are about glutenfree.
I loved that each dish is cooked separately! The whole concept of a pasta bar was awesome! They have zucchini noodles so I could eat Paleo. Bonus since most dishes in Vienna are heavy carbs. I really enjoyed this place.
Rude employees. Did not have gluten free pasta as advertised. Employees were incredibly rude when our food was taking too long and we inquired about where it was they told us they could not help us and basically told us to just leave. Very disappointing.
At first glance this seems like heaven, but this is a dangerous place for celiacs! We were reassured because they had gluten free options and the menu is clearly marked, AND they have gluten free dough and pasta and beer, but the pasta is boiled in the same water as the wheat pasta! So stressful because I just happened to glance as we walked away and saw them put them in the same hot water. It was at least salvaged because my husband was able to go to the pizza counter and ate a whole gluten free pizza without getting sick! Agh! So if you dare to go there, get the pizza but definitely not pasta.
Nice menu with choice of glutenfree. All pasta courses Can be made with glutenfree pasta
Excellent gf offerings. The staff knew a lot about cross contamination and what could/couldn’t be done. I asked the guy making my pizza if he was going to change his gloves (after making a regular pie), and he seemed almost offended by the question. Of course he was! Tasty food, great for an easygoing date night.
Very good. Watch them make your food from scratch.
Staff speaks English. You order at the various food stations using the card handed to you when u walk in. Ask at entry for English menu. They have GF pasta, pizza, and risotto dishes and salads. Tell them you want gluten free when you order at the food stations. There is a separate bar station for wine, cappuccino and dessert. Had the pasta with chicken, bok Choy and peppers.
Amazing GF menu. Had the pizza with Italian ham and mushrooms. Superb. Very good wine by the glass as well. The order system is a bit different as they give you a card that you take upstairs and when you get in line and order the card holds your order info. When you leave you give the card to the cashier so she knows what you bought. The employees all spoke English. Will definitely go back to try the risotto and pastas.
Vapiano is a very good option to eat glutenfree. Almost every pasta and almost every pizza can be made glutenfree. They also change Gloves and cooking-stuff so the risk of contamination is very low. Lots of Opportunitys!
I happened on Vapiano and I am very happy. Very clearly labeled and generous menu. They also have vegan (diary and egg free) and lactose free foods. The GF desserts are limited, but they do exist. I have celiac and so far, I haven't had any reactions. Over all, I quite approve.
It may be part of a chain, but it's no less awesome for that. GF pastas (manufactured and pre-cooked separately) with cooked-to-order sauces and GF pizza options. Fresh, local ingredients assembled with care (and safety for us GF folks.) What's not to like?
