What is your favorite OTC Gf flour blend? We have used King Arthur’s predominantly and Americas Test Kitchen blend. What are the thoughts on others Bobs, Namaste etc thanks

Mari I find King Arthur’s to be too grainy. I really liked Bob’s red Mills. It tends to be really good for cookies and pies. It has good texture for waffles and muffins and cakes too, though it can be a bit dense, for those things. I have started using Cup4Cup, which is my new favorite. It is a couple dollars more than King Arthur or Bob’s Red Mill, but it is so worth it. It gives a great texture and flavor. Now, I tend to mostly use Cup4Cup, but will sometimes supplement with Bob’s Red Mills.

maura_h My favorite is the Americas test kitchen blend. I tried others but the results weren’t as consistent. Bobs red mill is my back up but seemed to dry out some baking.

AlexisMangat Thank you. We have used ATK blend but as we get King Arthur’s for almost a normal price from BJs it has become our default.

Kylie123 Everyone says that Cup4Cup is good….My mom tried to make muffins with it but they turned out really gummy. I tried to use it to make flatbreads but it was also gummy. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a certain technique we need to use? 1 reply

SarahLizzy I use the Equate All-Purpose GF and it has worked great for baking.

anna174263 I love Kinnickinick. You may find it in stores but I bulk order directly from their website. Most of their products are also egg and dairy free.

zachary09 red mill, king Arthur and birch benders are all good

Rachaellroth I use GF Jules 1-for-1 all purpose flour and bread mix. King Arthur’s pancake/waffle mix.

lucia9124 I like Better Batter. The results are consistent. No grit. Good 1 to 1 flour for everything I bake. But if you are really into bread baking, join the Facebook group Gluten Free Bread Bakers for the best flours to use for bread. A 1 to 1 blend generally is not recommended by these bread bakers. 1 reply

madden876 Some things need different types of flour some I use one some I’ll even make a blend of my own

puddingsins King Arthur 1:1 is my go-to. Namaste tastes gross. Bob’s Red Mill results in baked goods that are too dry.

gfgirl7 Antimo Caputo Gluten Free All Purpose Flour for Pizza, Bread and Pasta. It is made by removing the gluten from wheat flour so the ingredients list wheat starch. *however* The Italian ministry of health has approved this flour as gluten free and approved the facility for production of gluten free products. It’s been tested at below 4ppm, well below the 20ppm threshold required for gluten free products. The upside of this is that the taste and texture are extremely good and pasta doesn’t fall apart when making it.

glutenfreedieter Bob’s Red Mill 1to 1 GF Baking Flour. I get excellent results every time, using regular recipes from Joy if Cooking or Fanny Farmer or off the internet. I did bake a lot prior to going GF and have been GF since 1989 so I’m pretty used to making any minor adjustments if a batter or dough doesn’t look quite right but I rarely need to make an adjustment with BRM.
