Great tacos. Pretty much everything is gluten free. You order through their app now, even sitting in the restaurant, which was rather annoying, as it was just a lot of tapping and clicking to see what was in each taco. You can mark any allergens on your order. Buuuuuut, the servers just kind of auction off the food when they come to your table, so I was a little nervous about whether the tacos prepared for me were truly prepared with allergens in mind. Did not have a reaction. Whew!

We enjoy this place each time we go! The servers are knowledgeable about celiac needs and are very helpful. The ordering is through your phone and you can indicate gluten allergy (and up to 4 other allergies like dairy, etc.) on each dish. Our server said there are only three items at the moment that contain gluten and they seem easy to avoid.

I used to eat here pre-celiac diagnosis and never got sick. However, I’ve been incredibly intentional about zero cross contamination since diagnosis 3 weeks ago. Haven’t gotten sick at all since.
Ate here last night and (despite alerting the staff to the fact that I have celiac disease) woke up last night with the classic stomach cramps and have nausea this morning (my typical gluten exposure symptoms).
Not sure if it was unlucky or if I have just grown more sensitive to gluten CC since my last visit. Sad nevertheless!

All you celiacs who say you’re not getting sick eating here are lying to yourselves. They’ve always used seasonings & soy sauce that contain wheat gluten verbatim.
My NIMA has detected gluten every time I’ve tried anything from Bartaco, at both locations. Despite managers insisting that things are fine, this place isn’t safe for celiacs.
Sometimes it seems that when ppl see a bunch of safe celiac reviews, they don’t truly listen to their bodies & they just keep super high hopes without a realistic analysis of what they just put into their bodies. If you aren’t testing with a NIMA, u have NO way of truly knowing if a restaurant is serving you something that’s actually celiac safe.
Also, all u celiacs who eat corn need to knock it off 😂 you’re skewing the results for those of us who are intensely sensitive. & You WILL eventually have damage & reaction from corn..just give it time 😣
Quit eating junk, friends. Even if you find it here in this app or at Bartaco. We need to be overall MORE careful w our bodies than non-celiacs so that we know what we’re actually reacting to& what’s just residual damage.

Food was AWESOME! The ordering style is kinda different, but the server was able to tell me what was not gluten free very easily. My only complaint is the tacos came out all together which would be a problem if some of the tacos weren't GF, but my husband also ordered GF tacos so it wasn't an issue. Expansive menu, lots of options, delicious food. I'm celiac and did not have a reaction. Fair warning, it is kind of pricey.

Such a great place to go when wanting to eat GF! Almost all their tacos are GF, except the lamb. Chips and guac and street corn all GF. Their menu is all online and they list the allergens for each item. You order online and add in the request for GF just so the chef’s know but wasn’t really a concern.

I really wanted to love this restaurant. They came out boasting that almost everything was gluten free. I loved all the awesome options on their menu. I ordered kids quesadillas for my celiac son and gluten sensitive other kids and specifically asked it be made GF. After biting into them realized they were on flour. We sent them back. And then 2 more sets of quesadillas were brought out to us, again all on flour. . There were new people in the kitchen and I think they also had some that only spoke Spanish (the waiter said there was some translation issue?) food was coming out slow and we had to keep Reminding them what we ordered. they comped our entire ticket and apologized profusely, but its frustrating when you try so hard to not ingest it and ask All the right questions, say all the right things and still end up ingesting it.

Had a great meal of various tacos. Orders are placed on your phone and you can type in that you are a Celiac and they will accommodate. Almost all items are gluten free. Host was very helpful.

All I can say is wow! Hope was great and very helpful. They definitely take gluten allergies seriously. Almost all the food there is free of gluten and they have dedicated fryers. I had the pork belly, duck, baja fish and brisket. The pork was out of this world. I travel a lot for work and to happen upon a place like this was a real treat. I'm super sensitive and had no issues.

I’ve had lunch at bar taco a few times without any reaction. The duck tacos are really good! Almost the entire menu is gluten free and the margaritas are delicious

This was our first time here, and I asked the hostess about GF food to make sure it would be safe for our daughter. They have mostly GF food and menu items with gluten are clearly marked. They have a dedicated fryer for GF chips. The street tacos were tasty! There's a kids menu with GF items. Daughter had no reaction after eating there, so another restaurant we can add to our list of acceptable places! Cool outdoor seating great for people watching, music, etc. Inside was nice too. This is a chain, but I didn't know that at the time.
Yes
Fabulous fabulous fabulous. Nearly the entire menu is already gluten free, except for the flour tortillas they use for quesadillas and, occasionally, some new menu items. Most of the tacos are served with GF corn tortillas. The baja (fried!) fish taco is one of the best tacos I’ve ever had anywhere. Pork belly tacos, pork belly bowl, guacamole, salsa verde, stewed beans, even their chips are all so delicious. They make a great margarita, but don’t skip the “Old Thymer” cocktail if you like a bourbon based drink - it is phenomenal. I’ve never been sick here and the food is delicious. Highly recommend. The highest recommendation.

This is my new favorite restaurant in Tampa! The salsa and guac trio with the chips/corn shells was really good as well as the street corn. My husband isn’t gf and he loved everything and I felt so happy being able to try basically whatever I wanted on the menu! I recommend the chicken and ribeye tacos. The margaritas also use fresh pressed lime juice and no mixes, additives, or fake sugars. Everything was amazing and I can’t wait to go back! You won’t be disappointed.

Of the 4 times my Celiac daughters and I have eaten here, they messed up once and badly glutened my daughter with the supposed gluten free Baja Fish Tacos.
While the food tasted good on our many visits, they screwed up and glutened my Celiac daughter on our last (and final) visit.
