Owner made sure meal was gluten free though other waitstaff didn’t quite seem to know what it meant. Owner came over to check on us and informed me the dessert wasn’t gluten free just moments before I took a bite... close call. Very expensive for what you get but maybe it was the busy night.
AMAZING! Romantic atmosphere. Owner is very knowledgeable about celiacs and speaks English. Even provided a complimentary snack before and after dinner that was gluten free. Food was very good and atmosphere was perfect. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a nice meal!
We enjoyed a wonderful dinner here for our last night in Paris. We had heard about this restaurant from Find Me GF and it was reassuring that they displayed signs in the window! We loved the ambiance of the restaurant, the staff was extremely knowledgeable and accommodating. They had an English menu available, which we appreciated, and they asked questions like, should both our meals be gluten free to we could share, etc. The food was delicious. My only regret, is that we ordered multiple appetizers and didn’t have room for dessert.
The staff is knowledgeable about celiac and cross contamination. Be sure to mention if you have celiac. Based on an earlier review I mistakenly thought all items were GF (they are not) and had to leave something uneaten (and still pay for it — it was after all my fault for not verifying). We had a nice dining experience in an authentic French restaurant.
I come here because of previous feedback. Well, menu is a printed paper without prices, no allergenic and no gluten free specifications. So, after 30 min of waiting for to order something to eat I have chosen a risotto thinking it could be safe. The waitress told me risotto contains gluten. I was not sure of what to order and they don’t really helped me so I left and moved to another restaurant.
Exquisite. We truly felt we had a French fine dining experience. The owner is celiac and her husband is the chef so she pointed out everything, they took care of us and it was safe! Coming from a sensitive celiac. Also coming from a HUGE FOODIE this place is a treasure. It’s what makes you appreciate French cuisine and cooking. We tried fois gras here and also lamb chops, oysters, scallops and dessert and all was prepared to excellent taste and texture. A MUST!!!
Amazing! The most knowledgeable and friendly service I’ve ever had in Paris, the owner is also celiac and extremely knowledgeable, I felt completely reassured. Food was delicious! Can not recommend this place enough! Will definitely return regularly.
Ate at Saotico during a work trip to Paris and was thrilled by the quality of the food and service, as well as the awareness of gluten free/cross contamination etc. I am a very sensitive celiac and I had no problems here. On the contrary, I had a delightful meal. The server explained how they can modify almost anything on the menu to be GF and gave guidance. this will be my main GF destination in Paris in the future.
Nice place with very friendly waiters who know what about we are talking when we speak about coeliac disease and others allergy because some of them suffer similar problems. Good quality food and not too expensive. I really enjoy my evening in that restaurant.
This place is a gem. It was no doubt the best meal I had in Paris. Most dishes are already gluten free and they can accommodate dairy free as well. The owner has celiac and was able to make recommendations on how to modify the dessert. For my appetizer, I had the foie gras with the foie gras terrine and it was divine. For my main, I had the monkfish. The fish was cooked perfectly and the potatoes that came with it was like nothing I’ve ever had. For dessert, I had a meringue cake with sorbet, berries, and berry sauce. Dinner was just a wonderful experience.
The owner is celiac and goes above and beyond to find a solution for you. They can make pretty much everything (minus things with bread) gluten free if you ask. The food was delicious and the ambiance was cute as well. I would definitely recommend visiting this spot on your trip to Paris!
Easily the safest and best meal we had in Paris. The manager (owner?) also has Celiac disease, and when I informed my waiter, he called her over and she handled the rest of the ordering process. She checked in several times to make sure everything was correct. The food was wonderful—I had the lamb chops and the goat cheese toast (minus toast, of course). Both were very good. For dessert, there were several options (Creme brûlée, meringue cake, and I think a couple others). I chose the meringue, which came with a small scoop each of raspberry sorbet and vanilla ice cream. The entire thing was a gorgeous tower, topped with whipped cream, founded on the crunchy, vanilla meringue, and surrounded by three raspberries and a swirl of raspberry and vanilla sauces. I would eat another right now if I could. The food was scrumptious, the service was wonderful, the environment was safe.
You can dine with confidence here. As mentioned in previous reviews, owner has celiac and was extremely helpful For my wife and I. My wife has celiac and a dairy allergy and they were able to accommodate our needs with appetizers, entrées, plus desserts! Fantastic meals, friendly attentive service, and great wine pairings. We will return next time in Paris, no doubt.
The ambience is charming & romantic. The hostess who I imagine was the owner is friendly and attentive. When I asked if my meal selection was gluten free, she said kindly and assuringly “it will be”! The best was the meal itself which was uncompromisingly delicious - one of the best meals I’ve had! The steak was perfect and prepared with tender buttery shallots with scalloped potatoes & cheese. The wine pairing she suggested was perfect. Our meal ended with the waiter bringing a little nibble for dessert which I passed on because of gluten. It was fine for my dining companion ... Once she realized she quickly asked for a couple meringues which were a nice finish to the meal. Wonderful experienced all around!!!
This wonderful restaurant makes a great asparagus and prosciutto appetizer, confit de canard (duck leg), and frozen coconut nougat dessert. The service was also excellent, and they took great care to give me the nougat without a cookie, while giving my friend a cookie. Absolutely first rate!
Great little restaurant with very good food. Owner could speak English which was helpful since I know very little French. She explained that she can't eat gluten either and advised me on what I could eat. I had the duck confit and it was good. The potatoes served with the duck were also amazing. Highly recommend!!!
Such amazing food! The staff was nice and really gave the French dinning experience. There were a lot of gluten free options and I didn't feel limited with my dessert choices! If you are vegan though this may not be the best place to go as there is a lot of meet and dairy in there food. I got the salmon with veggies and it was cooked to perfection! The only thing was that there was no gluten free bread substitutions for the table bread or other glutenous dishes. Still I highly recommend trying this place because they made up for that with the amazing food!!
I could not say more positive things about this place. My boyfriend has Celiac and this Was our last meal in Paris. Had been having issues with cross contamination and needed to go to a place where they understood the issue. The EXTREMELY chic manager not only ensured we would be safe but the the dishes were delicious and well presented, and the service was incomparable. Will be returning to Paris soon and this this place is on the top of our list
We traveled in Europe for a month and this was by far my favorite meal. So many times gluten free options are bland and boring. That is definitely not the case at Le Saotico. We spoke with the owner and the Chef and they assured us we were in good hands. The Chef was able to adjust the menu items I chose so that they were Gluten Free and safe for me! If we are in Paris again we will definitely be back for more! The Duck Confit, Escargot and Foie Gras are amazing!
The owner was so welcoming and gracious and the food was excellent. Everything we had was the best of our French experience and our daughters gluten intolerance was seamlessly addressed. If you want a warm and tasty neighborhood meal, this is the place. We will be back.
Amazing authentic French food with the ability to make anything on the menu gluten free. Not a tourist spot so it's great to get away from the overwhelming scene. Atmosphere is quant and cozy. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful! Would 100% go back again!
We had a great experience here on June 2, 2017. My daughter and I are both Celiac. We had an early reservation, and the chef pulled double-duty as our server. The food was delicious and elegant...and most importantly, SAFE. Thank you for taking such good care of us!
Absolutely fantastic service, knowledgeable staff, and most importantly excellent food. I ate here two nights in a row and would keep going back if I weren't leaving Paris. I felt safe eating there because the person that seated me was also celiac and she assured me I was safe. Go. Eat. It's wonderful.
Excellent cuisine! We had the burgundy snails appetizer and lamb chop for main dish. An amazing bottle of wine, a bottle of sparkling water then finished off the night with a crème brûlée. All this was less than 100 euros and was ABSOLUTELY gluten free. It helps the owner is celiac too. Everyone was friendly, and music overhead was a Jack Johnson album that set the perfect tone for the evening.
