Not sure I understand why this place is so popular. My food was fine, but unremarkable. I had the escargot and the duck confit. Both were cooked nicely, but bland. The duck confit and potatoes were flavoured with salt and that seemed to be about it - perhaps they simplified the menu to be gluten free - not sure - but it was a bit too simple for my tastes.
Needing a gluten-free meal also seemed to cause confusion. My first course came with puff pastry on top, despite saying multiple times I needed gluten-free. The server seemed confused and eventually confirmed that it was not gf.
The entire upstairs floor where I was seated was 100% English speakers. That was a bit funny.
The staff were all very, very nice. Also they had some nice wines and offered an English menu. I might go back and try something else at some point, but didn’t really love it.

I won't take long to say what others have noted -- the owner is Celiac, her husband does the cooking -- they understand it. Most of the menu (aside from anything bread/breaded) can be GF. A variety of choices. Important in my case is that I was in France for a business trip. That means that many times I am at the mercy of others on where we eat and I don't usually get choices or end up in a risker situation than I would like. I made the reservation for the group, and I am the only GF person. That is always stressful, as you want it to be good for others also -- and not just so they are accommodating your special diet. All guests raved about the food, in fact, I was told that the duck was the absolute best one gentleman had ever eaten. The wine was great, food amazing, dessert was fabulous also. I had the pumpkin soup, fish (dorado), and the crème brulee. Also, you need a reservation. It is small, and they have limited hours. I will return when I am in Paris again. Also, easy to get to from the Metro station (Richelieu-Drouot).

Great experience! My dad and I are GF, my mom isn’t, and we all loved it here. Owner is also gluten free which put us at ease. Food was DELICIOUS and it was so nice to leave the tourist-centric restaurants. I definitely recommend! No GF bread, but otherwise I believe everything can be gluten free.

The owner is a lovely woman who also is gluten free so I felt safe here.
I had the lamb chops with potatoes and they were delicious. The wine was excellent too.
It’s not a big place so make a reservation.

The restaurant was lovely, with a warm atmosphere. Many of the dishes are gluten free or can be made gluten free, so you just have to ask for what you want and they will tell you if a gluten free option exists. The owner is also gluten-free which gave us some reassurance too. I had a salmon fillet with vegetables and it was absolutely delicious. For dessert, I had the crème brûlée which was also lovely. Overall, a very good restaurant.

Great meal - 3 courses + wine, coffee and cognac. Friendly staff who confirmed meals were gluten free or can easily be changed to GF. Possibly my best meal in Europe over the last 3 weeks.

An absolute gem of a find! Staff was very knowledgeable and kind! Both our mains where delicious and the creme brûlée was the perfect end to the meal. We didn’t have long due to going to a show but the staff ensured we got a 3 course meal in the time frame we had. Must try for French food in Paris!!

Fantastic experience for ALL 4 of our dinners (2 with celiac) . Owner/GM (?) has proper celiac and was all over our gluten and lactose free needs. Food was the best of our trip. Really nice to have a proper French meal as many of the gluten free restaurants we frequented in France were something other than traditional French. Another bonus is that the non-celiacs could have a perfectly normal meal. Highly recommended by this careful celiac if you are venturing off the dedicated gluten free kitchens.

Loved our dinner here! The servers were very knowledgeable about gluten free options and really most options could be made gluten free. I had foie gras, duck and the salted caramel moose for dessert. It was all excellent! My only complaint is that they didnt have any gluten free bread to accompany the appetizers.

Le Sâotico was on a few sites like this one, Trip Advisor, and Google maps. They don’t have a dedicated GF menu, but were very knowledgeable about gluten free options. Lovely service, polite, prompt, welcoming. The menu was more extensive than many of the more “tourist trap” places in the larger streets. Delicious tomato salad with fresh mozzarella and herbs. Husband had the duck leg, I had the duck breast. Very good, though the duck might have benefited from a sauce or Demi glacé. This place seemed very authentic- all French people eating around us. Lovely decor, light jazz. Very worth the 12 minute walk from our hotel in the Opera district!

Owner has celiac and is very nice. They could make almost anything on the menu gluten-free except fried things and pastas, which was only 4 or 5 dishes out of plenty. Food was amazing and fresh. Felt very safe and owner took over our table bc of GF and spoke English very well.

At first the manager came out and greeted us and asked if one of us was a celiac (she is celiac too). She assured me that everything would be cooked separately and there was no need to worry. I ordered the lamb chops and tested them with my Nima tester. However, I started eating before the Nima test finished. The Nima showed that the lamb chops were not gluten free. At this point the manager came out and told me this might be because they were cooked in the griddle with everything else, which was different than what she had told me at first. Although she offered to make another one in a separate pan I was already sick. The manager kept pressing me to order something else and doubting that the Nima test was actually reliable. At one point one of the waitresses, who was clearing the table, jokingly pushed the bread in my direction. While the staff was seemingly nice and due to all the reviews I thought this would be a great place, it ended up being overall pretty bad because it ruined my night and made me really sick. Not usually one to leave bad reviews like this but thought others should know that they do not follow cross contamination cooking methods as is necessary for most celiacs.

The manager knows her menu all the way and around. The staff is very kind and helpful. There are plenty of absolutely delicious options and the menu gives you a taste of French Cuisine that you’ll never forget. The ambiance is relaxed and nice. A great experience that you shouldn’t miss! Definitely going back on our next visit.

Great traditional French food. Owner is very knowledgeable around GF eating. Would recommend

What a gem. The staff is warm, kind and knowledgeable, the food is delicious and celiac safe, the wine list has something for everybody and the atmosphere is pretty. Two enthusiastic thumbs up! All meals can be modified to be gluten free.

This was an amazing dinner. Highly recommend, it’s small and cozy, reservations are recommended although we were able to get in with out. When we left it was packed! Wonderful experience !

Delicious! The manager is also gluten free so she is very helpful. They can adapt a lot of dishes to be gluten free, and they take it seriously. I thought the prices were decent for what you get. The risotto was my favorite, but it was all good!
Owner made sure meal was gluten free though other waitstaff didn’t quite seem to know what it meant. Owner came over to check on us and informed me the dessert wasn’t gluten free just moments before I took a bite... close call. Very expensive for what you get but maybe it was the busy night.

Really nice food, good for accommodating gluten free customers, nice staff and a varied menu. However, it is very expensive

Steak tastes like butter and the creme Burke has so much fresh vanilla bean. Excellent meal!

Fantastic lunch. Goat cheese salad, lamb chops, great wine and super service. Owner is celiac so she gets it. 100 points.

AMAZING! Romantic atmosphere. Owner is very knowledgeable about celiacs and speaks English. Even provided a complimentary snack before and after dinner that was gluten free. Food was very good and atmosphere was perfect. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a nice meal!

What a great experience. Fresh made from scratch French food. Just have to let them know you are gluten free. The owner has celiacs and made sure to accommodate.
Very relaxing experience. The menu doesn’t specify gf but you just mention it and they will accommodate. I had the lamb chops and to make gf they just did not put on sauce. No fuss and great food!
We enjoyed a wonderful dinner here for our last night in Paris. We had heard about this restaurant from Find Me GF and it was reassuring that they displayed signs in the window! We loved the ambiance of the restaurant, the staff was extremely knowledgeable and accommodating. They had an English menu available, which we appreciated, and they asked questions like, should both our meals be gluten free to we could share, etc. The food was delicious. My only regret, is that we ordered multiple appetizers and didn’t have room for dessert.
Yes
The staff is knowledgeable about celiac and cross contamination. Be sure to mention if you have celiac. Based on an earlier review I mistakenly thought all items were GF (they are not) and had to leave something uneaten (and still pay for it — it was after all my fault for not verifying). We had a nice dining experience in an authentic French restaurant.
Yes
I come here because of previous feedback. Well, menu is a printed paper without prices, no allergenic and no gluten free specifications. So, after 30 min of waiting for to order something to eat I have chosen a risotto thinking it could be safe. The waitress told me risotto contains gluten. I was not sure of what to order and they don’t really helped me so I left and moved to another restaurant.

Exquisite. We truly felt we had a French fine dining experience. The owner is celiac and her husband is the chef so she pointed out everything, they took care of us and it was safe! Coming from a sensitive celiac. Also coming from a HUGE FOODIE this place is a treasure. It’s what makes you appreciate French cuisine and cooking. We tried fois gras here and also lamb chops, oysters, scallops and dessert and all was prepared to excellent taste and texture. A MUST!!!

Amazing! The most knowledgeable and friendly service I’ve ever had in Paris, the owner is also celiac and extremely knowledgeable, I felt completely reassured. Food was delicious!
Can not recommend this place enough! Will definitely return regularly.

Finally fine French cuisine which is absolutely gluten free! Pricey but worth every euro. Vast selection and the maitre d’ speaks beautiful English. I highly recommend this experience.

Ate at Saotico during a work trip to Paris and was thrilled by the quality of the food and service, as well as the awareness of gluten free/cross contamination etc. I am a very sensitive celiac and I had no problems here. On the contrary, I had a delightful meal. The server explained how they can modify almost anything on the menu to be GF and gave guidance. this will be my main GF destination in Paris in the future.
Yes
Nice place with very friendly waiters who know what about we are talking when we speak about coeliac disease and others allergy because some of them suffer similar problems. Good quality food and not too expensive. I really enjoy my evening in that restaurant.

Very accommodating and friendly staff. I have several other food restrictions besides gluten and they said no problem and were able to safely adjust all menu items. Food was amazing, highly recommend!!

The owner is gluten free. This was the first time in three nights that I didn’t go to bed with a massive stomach issue - with outstanding food to boot. Don’t skip dessert! Call ahead!

This place is a gem. It was no doubt the best meal I had in Paris. Most dishes are already gluten free and they can accommodate dairy free as well. The owner has celiac and was able to make recommendations on how to modify the dessert. For my appetizer, I had the foie gras with the foie gras terrine and it was divine. For my main, I had the monkfish. The fish was cooked perfectly and the potatoes that came with it was like nothing I’ve ever had. For dessert, I had a meringue cake with sorbet, berries, and berry sauce. Dinner was just a wonderful experience.

Excellent food, great service and perfect for gluten free dining!
