I can see why there are mixed reviews on here. Went here Sunday during a busy brunch and ordered off the menu. Everything they fry is rice or corn flour so it’s all safe the manager assured us. My husbands burger came out on a regular bun and the waitress said “my bad” like it was no big deal. The manager and other waiter apologized profusely and neither of us felt sick after. Definitely go here, but be sure to overly mention the seriousness of gluten free.
Unfortunately, this location is not up to par with other Tavern in the Square restaurants. Per their manager, their chicken/steak has a high risk for cross contamination due to being cooked on the same grill and was less than helpful when asked if a separate pan could be used. There is no dedicated fryer at this location either. Due to risk for cross contamination and unwillingness to accommodate, I would not recommend this location.

I am celiac and was sick as a dog after eating here. Stay away!
If you’re looking for gluten free fried chicken this is your place! I also like how the plates are marked as “allergy” and brought out by a manager.
Unfortunately if you have Celiac disease, this is not the restaurant for you.. I did my research and there is no dedicated frialator and there are no efforts made to address cross contamination issues.
Not sure what happened but my celiac son got sick from eating here tonight. He ordered a gluten free hamburger and the bun was clearly gluten free but he still got sick. They had the manager bring out his food so I wonder if it was cross contamination in the kitchen. Guess we won’t be eating here again.

I live right near this one and have never had any problem at all. I check the reviews and went in and asked them a bunch of questions. They swear that they do have a dedicated fryer, the manager always brings out gluten-free dishes, and I have never gotten sick with a very severe form of celiac.
Yes
Love this place. so many options. the hostess has CD as well.
I think this place has made some great changes to their GF menu and service protocols. The manager brings out your GF ordered food and confirms the order. They are serious and careful. I've been back twice now and things have really improved. I even tried their fried tortilla chips with guacamole recently. Dedicated fryer. They were great.

Great experience here! My daughter and I have a gluten and dairy allergy. The waitress was very helpful if she didn't know the answer she had the manager come help us. They were VERY knowledgeable about food allergies and cross contamination. GF rolls were good, burger a little bland. Was able to have onion rings for the first time since I was diagnosed 6 years ago! I'd definitely go back!
the waffles fries are not gluten free, so where do they fry those ? in the psst I was told they have a dedicated fryer.
Yes
Great place for celiac! There is no dedicated fryer-but EVERYTHING is battered in corn meal. So there is no cross contamination issue with the fried items in the menu! It's awesome. I highly recommend it!
This is our go-to when eating out with our Celiac kids for special occasions. It's a little pricey, but so worth it! GF chicken fingers are fresh and juicy, GF fish and chips are amazing, GF fried calamari - where else can you find that?! Service has been slow on occasion. Bartenders (when we've been sans-kids) are awesome. Just for the food options and quality, this place deserves 5 stars!
I had a horrible experience and will never go back. I ordered the quinoa bowl and informed my waitress that I am celiac and am gluten free. My food arrived covered with something that was shredded and looked deep fried. I asked the waitress what it was. She told me she thinks it is onions or carrots. I asked her to find out for me. We waited atleast 10 min for her to come back. When she finally came back i asked her again and she said she does not know but it is ok because she told the kitchen I was gluten free. I asked for the manager. He offered to bring me something else. But I just sent it back. I was no longer comfortable eating there. They have gluten free on the menu but I do not feel they take it seriously.

Excellent GF menu! I've had a great meal each time we have been there. The sandwiches and burgers have a nice bun and fries are available as a side, which many restaurants don't do.
Yes
All of the fried food is gluten free since they use a potato chip and corn based batter. Onion rings, calamari, fish and chips are available. They also have non-fried food meals. And gf clam chowder! So good every time. I'm gluten intolerant and did not get sick.
Used to be great, menu changed a year or so ago. Also, majority of items labeled as gluten free are cooked in the same oil. With a wheat and dairy allergy and being vegetarian, I almost had to walk out after we ordered because they couldn't make what I ordered or anything else on the menu! Very misleading to mark so many things as gluten free when they're not!

The food was amazing!!! For sure, will go back again!

All the gluten free food is amazing
Great gluten free options and great food. They were cautious and the manager brought out our food!

They have SO many GF menu items (fish and chips, Hello!?!)! The management cares and will talk with you about your needs. Btw, food is yummy!

Nice restaurant in itself, wide variety of options for food and beverage

Argh!! Have been twice and they told me both times they had a dedicated fryer-they don't!!! I ate nachos (chips are fried there) and French fries -all contaminated. I did not find out until my third visit upon speaking with a manager (I always have ?s) that there is **no** dedicated fryer. The nachos on the menu are labeled GF! They obviously are not. It's a real shame because the food and atmosphere are great. I know about 10 celiacs-if they would have done it right I'd bring them a lot of business. This is a real shame I'm beside myself that I trusted them and ended up eating a bunch of contaminated food :(

I was pretty disappointed when the "gf" salad that I ordered had croutons on it. Attention to details is important and this restaurant did not pay attention. I ordered the pizza and wasn't impressed with that at all. I'll stick with the gf pizza and Northboro House of Pizza and the fabulous menu and attentive staff at Not Your Average Joe's.
I had the Margarita Pizza with Onion Rings and it was amazing!! The onion rings were so good. The pizza sauce had a little spice to it. The manager brought my food out to me while our waiter brought the other food out. It really helps you feel that the food is safe. The gluten free food is also made on the opposite side of the kitchen with its own space. I will definitely be coming back to try new things
excellent burger with the roll and onion rings. very knowledgeable and courteous staff. also a from scratch kitchen with dedicated fryer. will visit again, absolutely excellent
Best gluten free menu around including fries and rolls.
Yes
Amazing food! Had the Cuban sand which, tater tots and cider. The manager Sal is very knowledgable and attentive. Will even tell you if a drink has "natural flavors" as an ingredient. Will be coming back to try more

Great food. Acknowledgment of my need to be strict Gluten free by the server. Confirmed separate deep fryer so no cross contamination. I ordered the burger and fries and it was cooked perfectly.

Verified Separate GF Fryer. Daughter was happy with all of the GF options here. Pretty much everything can be made gluten free. She ended up getting French fries and guacamole- both came out with an allergy flag.
