Only 4 stars cause the waitressed did not seem to want to help me figure out what was gluten free since no GF menus. She did say they had GF bread, so I played it safe with the meat omelet (3 little pigs...I think) grits and the gf toast and was fine. Food was good. Probably not a good place for celiacs.
They don’t have a real menu to help you. And they don’t always have bread. Pretty much is order what u think will work. They say the Costarrican but I’m pretty sure there rice is not gluten-free.
Not a lot of options for GF but I had the Migas which were great but I would’ve loved a biscuit or pancakes.
It was dirty. The staff had no idea what was gluten free so I did not eat there. My husband ordered his food and it was the worse meal in New Orleans.
No
The staff was amazing! Very knowledgeable!
Yes
Not for celiacs - you can order omelettes and sandwiches without bread, but its definitely not GF. Our server was kind but knew nothing about GF and initially offered the oatmeal, which is not GF. Be careful
No
I ended up having an omelette and 2 sides of fruit. It was fair at best. My husband, who is not GF, enjoyed his breakfast. I didn’t feel great later that day, and I was very worried since we were at the museum. It’s a good place if you don’t have to be GF. I wish we went back to Powdered Sugar, but I was trying to be flexible....

Hostess was baffled when I asked about gluten free. My server even more so; she put her hands over her face and heaved a great sigh. Finally she got information from someone else. Ultimately I ate a tasty omelet but I do NOT recommend this place.
No menu, wasnt really helpful as to what was safe for me to eat. Potatoes came out looking deep fried
No
Really good. I got an omelette. We had a great waitress but if the server was less knowledgeable it could have been challenging to eat here.
Yes
Love this place. Been here for breakfast every day. Food is great! Staff very attentive. Husband had no problems!
Great service from Raven, she came back our to verify some things. Food was yummy, place has a nice feel. Definitely recommend
Yes
The hostess said they do not offer gluten free options. Since we had waited an hour and a half for a table, I was planning to sit with my family and not eat. The waitress was able to get an omelet and fruit for me and mention the gluten intolerance to the kitchen. I didn't get sick but would not recommend this place if you are celiac.
Server understood exactly what was going on and took all precautions!
Yes
I trusted the other reviewer and had the Costa Rican breakfast with no issues. Menus do not have GF items marked, but the server was kind and spoke with the chef to be certain (that the grits are an option.)
Ate breakfast there, no gluten free menu, but staff informed me what was safe to eat. Had bacon and eggs, say no to the potatoes. I didn't get sick :-)
Yes
Pretty bad service both times we went. Also the server knew nothing about GF. Had eggs, bacon and grits. No reaction but I’m not sure if it was celiac safe.
The food here was great, but the staff was not very knowledgeable about gluten free options. I ended up going with the migas and didn’t have any reaction after.
Yes
Waitress very knowledgeable about what can be made GF on menu. No dedicated fryer though
Yes
Mmmmmm it was ok ... I had to fully explain what my dietary needs were to the manager who said she was slightly familiar with celiac needs. I did not get glutened though 👍🏽
Our waitress was very helpful....there are plenty of choices really. Many things can be tailored for a gf diet. I mean no sandwiches, but most places don't have gf bread anyway. Plenty of breakfast options. I will definitely eat there again!
Yes
Very knowledgeable about gluten and cross contamination. Made excellent suggestions and even checked into our drinks for possible gluten content. Delicious!!
Wait staff is aware of GF options. Options are limited, but include the Costa Rican without the fried plantains. Staff says the grits are GF too. Eggs and bacon good.
I know this place comes highly recommended but our food just wasn't super fresh or good. No gluten reactions, just nothing to write home about.
There is no gf menu but the server was knowledge and helpful. I ordered an omelette and cheese grits! Delicious.
Yes
The waitress didn't seem very knowledgeable about gluten free options and cross contamination. We felt like we really rolled the dice eating there. I would not recommend for celiacs.
No
No GF menu, but the waiters are knowledgeable. There are several menu items for us--I had the Costa Rican breakfast-delicious! Several omelets are available and salads
Yes
I had a wonderful experience here. The waiter and manager were incredibly knowledgeable and responsive. I had the Gulf Fish St Peter with cheese grits instead of the grit cake and it was the best breakfast and piece of fish I've had in New Orleans. I will be back!
