GLUTEN FREE BUNS. They’re Udi’s. A bit crumbly, they fell apart but still good. The fries are not gluten free, there are fruit cups as a side instead.

I was excited because I read reviews that they have dedicated fryers but unfortunately the staff said they are not. They do mix items in the fryer, but they do offer gluten free buns and can answer if an item has gluten. The Blue cheese crumbs and dressing has wheat but they offer substitutes. Staff was friendly and didn’t give me a hard time about asking so many questions.

The fellow behind the counter who helped us, as well as the gentleman in the kitchen, were quite knowledgeable about gluten issues. I had an excellent guacamole burger on a gluten-free bun. The French fries are cooked in a separate fryer. I enjoyed my lunch and had no ill effects.

The waiter was rather rude, asked about the milkshakes which he knew straight away were not gf (which is great) however when asking about other safe cold drink options for my son got a sarcastic look and “i don’t know, i’m not a doctor” comment to all questions. Was planning on going for lunch there later on but after the experience will give it a miss. Shame as the reviews seem positive, and obviously our negative experience was solely down to one staff member but it was such a negative one won’t be going back.
They don't have a specific gluten free menu, but they do have gluten free buns. Also, their fries are cooked in a separate fryer, but it is adjacent to another fryer that might contain ingredients with gluten. Our server (whose name was Ruby, coincidentally) has a mother with Celiac, so she was very familiar with my issues.
They did a nice job. They had a GF bun. Knew what I was talking about. Dinner was good.
They now offer gluten free fried chicken strips in a dedicated fryer. Fries are also in a dedicated fryer. We went twice in two days!
They offer a Gluten Free bun and when I ask the waiter if they had a dedicated fryer for the fries he said yes they have six of them and that they keep all of them separate from cross contamination. I told him clearly that I have gluten allergen and that I want to make sure. He said the fries were fried separate.I ordered a Hamburger with A Gluten free bun and I did not bloated or sick.
They have the gluten free fries and chicken tenders. Some locations do not. The server checked with manager.
They don’t have gluten free like the Corona Del Mar beach there they had gluten free fries and chicken tenders that were so good
Never gotten sick here! Dedicated fryer for fries and they have gf bread and buns so I’ve had burgers and grilled cheese and had no problem
Yes
Diner food. At my visit July 2019, only one fryer was working, so no gluten free fries.
I have celiac. I asked dedicated fryer. She said they do but can not guarantee x condemnation. Some time the cooks dol cook items in the dedicated by mistake.
Their chicken tenders are made in gluten free batter. They’re fried in the same oil as everything else, so if cross contamination is an issue for you, be careful. It doesn’t hurt me, so I gave it a shot. They were delicious. I didn’t have any problems at all. I’m so excited about this!
Yes
No gluten-free fryer, but I had a burger on a lettuce wrap (they also do gluten-free buns) and had no reaction
Yes
They have gluten free buns and gluten free English muffins. Great service. Had avocado toast with English muffin.
Gluten free buns are good...fries not in dedicated fryer.
Yes
Ruby’s has recently launched a new Gluten Free offering! They have a delicious and truly gluten free recipe for their chicken strips. They are using fresh, not frozen, organic chicken and a rice flour based breading. Best part- these are cooked in a dedicated fryer, not shared with other menus items that aren’t GF! Supposed to be available in other locations very soon!
Yes
Staff is knowledgeable. I got the breakfast egg sandwich with the gluten free English muffin as a substituted bun. No problem! Also, most of their milkshakes are GF
Yes
Excellent service. Breakfast items were gluten free, but that’s true at most restaurants. It was nice that they had a gf English muffin available. I would not go out of my way to dine here just for the gf options.
Very yummy burger and they had a separate fryer for fries.
Yes
I've ordered the Vegwich here on their gluten free bun with the side salad (no croutons, of course) and haven't had any issues.
Cute place but I wouldn't call it celiac safe. I asked about the fries and they're made in the same fryer as breaded foods. The root beer float couldn't even be guaranteed safe, according to staff. I just let my boyfriend eat here (he isn't celiac) while I sat and drank water. Good review is because he LOVED his chili and hamburger, the view is great, and the waiter, Noah, was very friendly and courteous. He told me there were gf buns but I didn't take the chance because I'm 6 months pregnant.
No
Offer gluten free bun or “protein style” burger wrapped in lettuce. Server seemed a bit confused about whether fries were gluten free or not.
They had gluten free buns, some fruits and eggs, but besides that there were not many naturally gluten free options on the menu.
Fries are not gluten free. Cooked in same friyer as breadcrumbed items
This particular location at the Carlsbad Outlets has gluten-free buns. Otherwise, there are no other clear gluten-free choices on the lunch/dinner menu. There is no dedicated fryer - I was confused by other locations' reviews and thought they had a dedicated fryer. So when I asked about gluten-free options for my daughter with Celiac, our server told me right away about shared fryers and that any fried food would not be safe. we ended up ordering a burger with GF bun and a side salad. The GF bun, while tasty, was still partially frozen. Side salad came out of the kitchen with the croutons on top. We promptly requested to re-make it, which they did right away and apologized.
I'm giving this place 3 stars as opposed to 2 because the server really tried to accomodate us and seemed knowledgeable. I asked him to request that the kitchen take steps to minimize cross-contamination, clean out the grill, etc., and he was happy to oblige. I also really appreciated that he understood about shared fryers and told us right away. He also knew ingredients in sauces and helped us select a burger without gluten-containing ingredients.

Great GF spot! They have gluten free hamburger buns which were pretty tasty. Cajun fries were better than the regular fries- although not sure about the fryer situation
Had a turkey burger on a gluten free bun. The fries were safe too! Delicious, can't wait to go back. Did not get sick.
great GF buns! not sure if it's good for celiac.
Now has a dedicated fryer for fries, we tested the fries with the Nima and they came out safe š, unfortunately we ordered the chicken sandwich with gluten free bun and that tested positive for wheat, probably from cross contamination on the grill, they grill the bun assuming with regular buns, we did not notify the wait staff, š the chicken grill side came back positive for wheat šš, otherwise the staff was pretty knowledgeable about gluten safety, another crappy day with celiac when ur starved

Went here after reading such great reviews. Place was almost empty. Ordered burgers with gluten free buns. Stressed the gf MANY times. Also got fries and shakes. Again, we stressed the whole gf thing and the waitress even repeated it. We got our food and Intake a bite. The bun is unlike any gf bun I've ever had. Then I notice my daughters bun looks different, and hers is falling apart, as we have come to expect from most gf buns. I realize they have given me a burger with a regular bun! I call the server over and they go get a supervisor who removed my entire plate to go check it out. By this point I'm already feeling the impact...he comes back out and offers to get me a new burger and he acknowledges it was NOT a gf bun and he's not sure what happened. They Did comp my meal, but that's not enough to make me feel good about dining there again
No
While they did have a gluten free bun, my food was undoubtedly cross contaminated. Tasted good while I was eating it, but it made me sick later
No
I spoke to the kitchen manager about my specific gluten free needs and they still managed to give me a non-gluten free bun. I feel so sick! Stay away from this place!
My son and I had a great experience at Ruby's. The burgers and fries were delicious. The fries were cooked in a separate fryer and the staff was very nice and helpful.
Only have gf buns. Not celiac friendly.
No
Great fries, cooked separately. Had a bacon cheeseburger no bun that was good. (They have GF buns, but they contain egg and I am allergic to egg.)
Downtown Palm Springs - Manager came to the table to answer my questions. Had a great Apple Walnut Salad with chicken. Wish the GF options were marked.
They are very careful. This location also has a separate frier, so you can enjoy fries too!
Yes
Grill is shared. Good luck

Had a turkey sandwich on gluten free bun, husband had burger with gluten free bun, French fries are fried in same area as everything else so I opted for a side of fruit. My father-in-law had a non-gluten free meal of an egg sandwich and potatoes and loved it.
No
Thus goes for ALL Ruby's diners. I asked to see a gluten free menu, they brought me out the ingredients listings for all their products. I was shocked to see, listed in big letters, on their burgers, CONTAINS WHEAT.
THE BURGERS ARE NOT GLUTEN FREE, EVEN THOUGH THRY OFFER GLUTEN FREE BUNS!!!!!!!
