They were very accommodating, the manager asked me to scan the QR code on the menu which would take me to the designated GF menu. There is a bottle put on your table that said ALLERGY and then the server asks what the allergen is too and it then becomes highlighted on their screen whenever anyone serves the table. My food came out with a gluten free sticker on it. They were very good although the pizza was a bit cold and burnt but I put that down to it being a Saturday night

Was okay for gluten free but not the best. No dedicated menu and had to read through a very awkward and complicated chart for products with gluten in. Had a pasta dish however pasta was very under done.

They got us in last minute as we told them we only had an hour and knew Zizzi's was gold for gluten free. Dolly couldn't be more accommodating in giving us a table for an hour and getting our food to us quickly. They also really discreetly put an allergy vase on the table.

Pizza was delicious. We were asked about allegories when we walked in and they put a marker on our table that we had an allergy. When the waiter came over he immediately asked about the gluten allergy. Food came out with a sticker on the plate.

You can scan the QR code to find out which items are gluten free, but they were also very accommodating for a picky child. He got gluten free garlic bread (not on the menu) and pasta, and when they realised how much he liked Parmesan, came back with more. His food came out with Gluten free goodness stickers on the bowl and plate.

waiters were really knowledgeable about celiacs, immediately informed me about the shared fryer and told me what I could and couldn't have!
large gf pizza and pasta menu, I ordered the Margherita and it was really nice - base was a tad soggy but I tend to find that pretty normal for a gf pizza !!
overall great experience!

Nice looking place in the Odyssey arena. We were informed any allergy orders require the manager to take them.
I ordered a GF pepperoni campala pizza. Arrived pretty quickly and looked nice albeit very sparse on the toppings.
Disappointingly, it did not live up to expectations. The base was nice close to the edge however most of the rest appeared cooked but was soaked in oil making it very chewy and just not enjoyable.
My wife did have a gluten filled pasta dish that she really enjoyed.
I would be tempted to try here again for a GF pasta dish but will definitely not be trying pizza here again unfortunately.
Also they did confirm it is a shared fryer for any chips or fried options.

Good gluten free options with several pizzas and pastas to choose from. Staff ask if you have any allergies on arrival and provide an allergen menu. Some items are marked gluten free but note that they are in a shared fryer so are not coeliac friendly. Overall good experience.

Recently went for pre show meal at this restaurant. They were not busy so no pressures. When I stated needed gluten free was told to scan QR code which brings up a matrix with allergens on. There were no filters to give you options of what you can eat. So ok I diligently searched matrix, chose a vegan margherita pizza as I now have to avoid dairy too. I asked if pizza sauce contained onions & was told that they couldn't tell me. I also ordered chips as these were gluten free!! I then witnessed cross contamination in the kitchen with no washing of hands between different dishes not even between vegetarian, vegan or meat. My pizza was cooked on a tray but was then removed using spatula that had touched gluten foods. I also then noticed that chips are fried in same fryer as other foods so did not touch them. I am only intolerant & didn't have time to go anywhere else,so I risked it. Luckily I did not have a reaction. However if you are coeliac be very cautious ,I would not eat here. The food was good but you take a risk. Very disappointed.

Love Zizzi pizza! Eaten here multiple times, especially fond of the rustica chicken pizza. Staff is knowledgeable and helpful, never had an accident or gotten ill after eating here. They also do takeout/delivery, the pizza comes in a marked gf box, uncut for safety which I appreciate! I also got pasta crisps on the house one time, they were delicious! Highly recommend Zizzi if you haven’t been!

Staff gave me a list of allergens for every single dish in a 40 page document when I asked for GF menu
No separate menu, chose food from their internet menu.
It arrived on a cold plate, so went cold very quickly. They gave my daughter a completely wrong dish considering she is vegan, they gave her a meat dish.
Shall not be returning

I have a dairy allergy on top of my gluten allergy so Italian can be tricky but this place had a few options for me because that had a very extensive vegan menu. I had the bolognese and the noodles had a good chew to them. Not like rice pasta noodles that disintegrate. It was a tiny big greasy for me but still tasty. Would recommend.

Amazing staff!
When you walk in they ask for any allergies.
You can walk in but to be safer you can make a booking online.
They hand you an iPad with the menu dedicated for your allergy, you order from there.
They place an “allergy table” bottle so staff know.
There were more options for pizza than pasta but the pizza was gorgeous.

Absolutely amazing food and fabulous service.
Our first visit to Zizzi’s Newcastle.
I had calamari for starter and it was amazing.
I had Truffle & Pancetta Carbonara for my main course and it was absolutely gorgeous.
They are extremely allergen aware, asking as soon as you go in. The dishes are marked with a sticker (non gluten).
As a coeliac, I would absolutely recommend Zizzi’s.

Early meal, nice enough food. No specific gf menu but they will basically give you a dog-eared printout of all the allergens - it’s a bit of a pain to look through. Confirmed separate fryer for gf food but did say it is right next to the main fryer.

I was asked about allergies on arrival and stated gluten for myself, the server explained scanning the barcode on the menu for allergen info. I asked whether the foods listed gluten free were cooked separate or cross contaminated and was informed that anything fried was cooked with gluten so “it depends how sensitive you are” (to which I stated I was coeliac so it was a no go) but this was a huge red flag. It’s also important to note this is not mentioned on the allergen menu next to the items. I was informed the pizzas are cooked in the same oven on a separate tray and pasta is also separate so to stick to these options.
I opted for pizza. Which came out with a gf sticker on the plate. The toppings were lovely but unfortunately the base was very undercooked and doughy/stodgy.
The server did not return after bringing us our meals, it ended up being a senior staff that came over to clear our plates as we had been waiting a while (it was busy). He asked how the meal was and I gave him my honest feedback about the pizza base, and he kindly removed this item off the bill.
Overall: Do not recommend for gluten free. Red flags on cross contamination.
Pizza express is so much nicer and there is one locally.

Food and service were both really good and I felt safe eating here. Before being seated, I was asked if there were any allergies. The waiter brought over a tablet with an electronic version of the menu that could be filtered by dietary restriction type. I ordered the meatball starter and the pancetta and chorizo carbonara (gluten-free pasta). Both were delicious and came out flagged as gluten-free.

The restaurant was a bit chaotic but that might have just been because we were there on a Friday evening. We had a reservation but still had to wait a while to be seated. The waiter couldn’t take our order because I wanted gf so we had to wait for the manager to come and take it which took some time. The food was up the usual Zizzi’s standard, it arrived quickly once ordered and the staff were friendly. I had a gf pizza & beer

Has a separate GF menu however staff said anything fried is cooked in contaminated oil with non GF food, so isn’t really GF or safe for coeliacs. That meant half the GF menu was unavailable, which was very disheartening for me. They do make fresh GF pizza which is actually GF and good, and came out with a GF label.
Staff didn’t seem very bothered and weren’t really interested in answering any questions I had. I didn’t feel very welcome as a coeliac, only felt safe ordering pizza.
