I've been for dinner and Sunday brunch. They have a GF menu and made sure I was taken care of. The last time the manager even came out to make sure I knew that he was aware and made sure my food was safe. I really appreciated that.

Would not recommend for celiac individuals. The wait staff was kind, however they were not knowledgeable about their products. When asked if an item was gf, they said “I would assume so,” indicating a lack of certainty. I did eat one raw oyster and was fine, but didn’t want to risk eating anything else there!

I had an allergic reaction at this Chart House two years ago and had to go straight to the hospital about four bites in. I ordered hummus from the gluten free menu and asked for the appropriate modifications for gluten free, but when the plate came, there was pita on it. I caught it before eating anything on the plate and sent it back, and although they said the new plate had been fully re-made with no pita, an anaphylactic reaction occurred after a few bites in and I was rushed to the hospital. I hope the allergy-friendly service has improved since then, but I am too afraid to return.

What a great place for a date night. It was very easy for me to eat here. The server showed me which items on the menu were gf (or could be made gf for me), and there were many options. I ended up having oysters, sushi, salad and a gf creme brûlée flight of sorts. The server coordinated with the chef more than once about avoiding cross-contamination for my meal. Chart House is a beautiful, classic restaurant on the water. I will go back often.

Chose Chart House for a birthday celebration on the recommendation of a gluten-intolerant friend, and had a wonderful experience. Upon learning that I have celiac, our waiter took special care to bring me the gluten-free menu, and confidently answered my questions.
I had the shrimp+mango+avocado stack as an appetizer, and the grilled chicken+asparagus with a side of mashed garlic potatoes as a main; all three were delicious.

Fantastic experience! They have a gluten sensitive menu and when I ordered I made it very clear about celiac and extra precautions when prepping my meal. I had the mahi mahi Del Mar with a side of grilled broccolini. It was so delicious and I felt taken care of the entire time.

Would not recommend . the entire experience was not great from the start. Out of GF steak at 6:30? maybe they are understaffed but I would go back.
The building and service were great! They have a gluten free menu available. The food was good but not great for the price.

Based on other reviews, the level of staff knowledge here seems to vary a lot. I went for happy hour and the server didn’t know what was gf: we had to ask about each individual item we were interested in, and then she’d go back and ask the chef. I ended up getting the hummus (sub extra taro chips for pita) and the fish tacos (they’re grilled, on corn tortillas). Both were good, especially the tacos, and I didn’t get sick.

There is no mention about food allergies and the waitstaff also does not ask. I specifically asked if my starter was gluten free, a sushi roll, which seemed to have been fine. She assured me she would check to make sure there’s no gluten. I then ordered a steak with a crab topping and asked again about gluten. Sick as a dog today and pretty sure the crab sauce has some gluten. It’s a nice place but be very careful as they don’t seem to be trained or very gluten aware

Our waiter was amazing, Anolson, and repeated multiple times that he would make sure the kitchen knew about my gluten allergy. Several options to choose from, had the shrimp, avocado and mango stack along with oysters. The 3 mini crème brûlées were amazing!

Went for Sunday brunch and had a wonderful time. They no longer offer a gluten free menu but many items were gluten free. I had the shrimp and grits and an order of sausage and had no problem. They can do the crab dip served with Parmesan crisps instead of bread. Many salads and burgers. They did have a gluten free bun. When walking out I looked at the sushi bar and they said they can do sushi safely and have tamari. Staff was knowledgeable. I took away a star since they recently got rid of the dedicated gf menu. No problems. I’d go back.

We visited this restaurant while staying in Savannah. Think I found it on https://www.visitsavannah.com/food-drink Lovely table outside on the balcony. Both the black and blue salmon and a filet were had. Also the Asian green beans which were great. Finished off with the “upgraded” lava cake. Service was impeccable. 5/5 ⭐Highly recommended if you are in Savannah

Good food and great service but not amazing given the price. Their selection is weak for GF and they could do better. I wish they would expand their options—they could be so much better.

Manager came out and showed me the ingredients in their blackened seasoning to make sure I’d be okay. She said she had experience with celiac years ago and always makes sure now. I actually feel like they care here - will 100% be coming back.

They have a gluten free menu. This was my second time eating there and it will be my last. The first time I had no issues, but this time I got sick. I stressed that I have Celiac and am very sensitive to gluten. The server was very friendly and made me feel comfortable, but it's not worth it to try again, after the way I felt for 3 days. I got the blackened Mahi with asparagus and was told it was baked in the oven in a separate pan. Maybe the jersey seasoning was contaminated. Either way, I dont feel safe eating here again.

Their food was okay. They did have plenty of options on a separate menu. I got their grilled chicken and it had no seasoning whatsoever. Just a plain bland chicken breast and some charred vegetables but that was only after they initially brought me the wrong dish and had to go back and get me the correct one.

Do not go here! Staff is not trained on allergen protocol!!!! Went for a birthday dinner. We noted I had a gluten allergy in the reservation notes and were given the gluten free menu. After ordering off of the provided GF menu and reminding the server that I had a gluten allergy with celiac, I was given a side with bread crumbs on top of the dish. The dish did not list the bread crumbs on the veggie on either menu. When the waitress came over and confirmed, she took the dish away with no apology and replaced the side. Manager eventually came over and it turns out my food was not marked as having an allergy. The restaurant didn’t even ask if I was okay. Poor service and got me sick, ruining my birthday.

Meh. Server was not very knowledgeable. Basically pointed me to 2 sections I could choose from. Food was good but under seasoned. Only 1 dessert option. They brought my husband bread and I had to sit there hungry and watching him eat the bread.

From a gf standpoint the place is ok. There was a little uncertainty and food we were told was safe last time was said to be unsafe this time.
My issue is just the food wasn’t great. Very expensive for a great view but it feels past it’s prime. Nothing special from a taste or quality standpoint. It was ok but no better than ok.

Nice place, good service. They had a GF menu when I was there (10/16/21) and it had several options. I picked the fish of the day which turned out to just be OK but the rest of my party, who did not need to eat GF, was very happy with their food. The staff was knowledgeable. I did not feel sick after. I'd recommend it to someone with Celiac.

I didn’t actually eat at this place so I wasn’t going to review but then I decided I should warn other people that are planning on having a meal there. We were there June 6th and asked about their gluten free menu. The hostess replied “we don’t do that anymore” so we moved on.

You can definitely get gluten-free options at this restaurant, but our waiter, although very nice, clearly didn’t know what gluten-free meant. By asking questions and getting a very simple dish ( crab legs and baked potato) I did ok, but would have appreciated more information on other options.

There is not a GF menu but the host said they could make just about anything GF or adjust the dish for me. Sure enough the waiter said the same. I was able to have one of the appetizers, the lobster, shrimp, avocado stack. And then I had a spinach salad with bacon, eggs & such & added grilled shrimp. The waiter did say I could have the steaks, fish & also mashed potatoes if I’d wanted to go that route. I felt confident in what I was served & did not have an reaction. I also had the moscato sangria which was very good.

We are a gluten free, soy free and corn free food family. We really enjoyed our early dinner at the Chart House in November 2020. Our experience was superb - our server was absolutely fabulous. The food was divine! And our seating view of the water was unmatched. The Chart House took care of our dietary needs exemplarily. We had a great experience at the Chart House and will be returning as often as possible.

I went here for happy hour and was going to stay for dinner. Once we were sat the waiter was not helpful. I asked what options they had that were gluten free. He said “tell me what sounds good and I’ll see what we can do”. This is a nice restaurant I expected more from them or maybe a manager to walk over and talk to our table. I called the host and they were unsure if they had any GF options. For the price they need to do better.

For the caliber of restaurant, I expected better. My prime rib came out cold and dry. Dairy can be a problem for me also, so when I asked to substitute the mashed potatoes (made with milk) for asparagus ( the only vegetable on the gluten free menu) they said no, but I was finally able to convince them to substitute the fingerling potatoes on the GF menu! I won’t return. Too pricey for that poor of service!!
I had the Crap Stack and the Indian Summer Shrimp a and scallop dish. Everything was delicious and I didn’t get sick. Make sure you tell them if you have celiacs because some of the gf menu isn’t safe for celiacs.

Highly recommend it. Gluten free menu and knowledgeable staff. Manager specifically checked in to ensure we knew how important they took allergies.

I’ve been here twice now, and both times they were very attentive. They have a gf menu, it includes dessert. The crab stack is very good. Extra plus, the server placed the bread away from me—it irks me when I say Gf and then they place the bread right in front of me.

Had a filet and broccoli. Food was good, view was wonderful and this was a happening place. They took my allergies seriously and I did not get sick. Highly recommend!

They had a gluten free pasta! The server was so helpful!
Server was knowledgeable about my allergy and I did not get sick. A pricier option in AC but the food was good!
Waiter was very knowledgeable, checked with chef for each item I ordered even though it was on the gluten free list. Had crab, mango, avocado stack for app and chicken, potatoes and asparagus for entree. Food was delicious and had no issues after.

Chart House has a gluten free menu. Food was very good, I had the Captain’s cut prime rib. Servers were very aware of gluten free items. It was a little awkward when the waitress counted our money (cash) at our table when picking it up. Otherwise a nice place.

Great food! I hadn't been to a Chart House since going to the one in Virginia over 20 years ago so my father and I decided to check this one out during his recent visit. It was just as I remembered with the huge salad bar complete with caviar, also enjoyed the baja salmon (topped with warm corn salsa and shrimp) with mashed potatoes (some of the best I've ever had) and asparagus on the side. They had a couple of gluten-free dessert items on the menu (raspberry sorbet and crème brulee) but I went for the chocolate mousse at the salad bar instead. Food was excellent! Only thing they need to do is offer gluten-free bread so hopefully they'll do that in the future.
