I had a fabulous dinner here. The staff were very knowledgeable and I had several safe options. The manager also came over to talk to me and assured me they could provide a safe meal. I ordered a steak, shrimp and mashed potatos. The service was incredible. So was the food!

Food that we had seemed to be gluten free but the quality of the food that came out was horrible and extremely expensive. We have dairy issues too and we were both given dairy on both of our plates that had to be fixed. Service was pretty bad, including waiting at the door for 10+ minutes for acknowledgement by the host. The servers just looked at us and walked on even though there was less than 10 other people on a slow Thursday night.
Food might be safe from gluten but it's definitely not worth it. Stay away!

There is a separate gluten free menu. I had the chopped spinach salad, the fresh fish and mashed potatoes. All were fantastic. I also had lemon sorbet for dessert which was delightful. View is beautiful!

Chart House is a business/casual dress restaurant on the St. John’s River. Beautiful views and also the River Walk is there to enjoy after dinner. They offer a GF menu. The service and food was good. I had Prime Rib, mashed potatoes and Crème Brûlée. Would go again.

This was one the best meals of our vacation! Our server was very careful to make notes and bring things up about the GF options. She made sure I knew if she was bringing things to table for others that I could not eat. She went above and beyond to make sure the GF dining experience was safe and delicious. And the bonus of this restaurant is the amazing views! Can’t beat it.

Gluten-free menu was provided. Our waiter was very attentive and double checked with the chef about what I wanted to order. I ordered lobster and vegetables with mashed potatoes. I also ordered the crème brûlée tasting. I did not get sick.

They had a “gluten sensitive” separate menu but the waitress was very good with letting me know. The shrimp mango avocado stack appetizer was so fresh and heavenly- would def get that again. My entree was a filet with garlic mashed potatoes and a truffle mushroom butter. Everything was really really good! The only dessert option was mango & lemon sorbet so I skipped it

Horrible service. They took down my order as gluten free allergy( a $24 salad which was basically a bed of lettuce with 3 oz of grilled chicken), and served it with croutons. Took over 30 minutes to come out and It had to be remade. I was starving at this point. The Only reason why I gave it two stars is because our waiter was really trying to help and they ended up comping my Salad. I also had 4 asparagus spears in lemon butter sauce that cost $12. Way too expensive and got no food. Hope I don’t get sick.

We had a pretty good experience at the chart house. A gluten free menu, our waiter was very accommodating for our gluten allergy restrictions. We had a waterfront view which was pretty sweet too! The filet Mignon & the chopped salad were delicious. Tried switching the balsamic vinaigrette for ranch dressing— but our server notified us that the ranch had gluten in it. The balsamic vinaigrette was the way to go anyways—SO delicious!! The only downside to our dinner was that our some of silverware, plates, and a drinking glass did not look clean. They changed that out for us and it was perfect. Would definitely revisit.
P.S. Would recommended the gluten free raspberry sorbet!! SO GOOD!!

Nice place on the water. They have a GF menu, and many options from the main menu can be adjusted. Waiter was helpful, and we had a good meal. Only issues is that a salad came out with croutons, so need to check what’s coming!

I've been for dinner and Sunday brunch. They have a GF menu and made sure I was taken care of. The last time the manager even came out to make sure I knew that he was aware and made sure my food was safe. I really appreciated that. Follow-up: had another amazing brunch at chart house. The server even took pictures of the ingredients of the Worcestershire sauce bottle to confirm I could have it. They were so thoughtful and accommodating.

What a great place for a date night. It was very easy for me to eat here. The server showed me which items on the menu were gf (or could be made gf for me), and there were many options. I ended up having oysters, sushi, salad and a gf creme brûlée flight of sorts. The server coordinated with the chef more than once about avoiding cross-contamination for my meal. Chart House is a beautiful, classic restaurant on the water. I will go back often.
I returned to this restaurant recently and had the same great service.

The food was good. But on the way home I got the worse stomach pain ever. I definitely got glutened. From what I’m not sure. There menus had what was gf on it but I’m beginning to agree with the other reviews that they don’t understand what gluten is they just think it’s flour. I had the NY strip, fries, Caesar salad, and the crème brûlée tasting plate. Not sure which wasn’t gluten free. Maybe the sauce on the ny strip maybe the fries maybe it all.

Worst Mother’s Day Meal Experience Ever. Gluten free menu includes no side salad because they were all pre-made with croutons. No desserts (even ice cream!) available. Three course fixed price meal was not available for me, but was for everyone else. Had salmon and mashed potatoes. No side salad available and no dessert. Extremely disappointed.

Would not recommend for celiac individuals. The wait staff was kind, however they were not knowledgeable about their products. When asked if an item was gf, they said “I would assume so,” indicating a lack of certainty. I did eat one raw oyster and was fine, but didn’t want to risk eating anything else there!

I had an allergic reaction at this Chart House two years ago and had to go straight to the hospital about four bites in. I ordered hummus from the gluten free menu and asked for the appropriate modifications for gluten free, but when the plate came, there was pita on it. I caught it before eating anything on the plate and sent it back, and although they said the new plate had been fully re-made with no pita, an anaphylactic reaction occurred after a few bites in and I was rushed to the hospital. I hope the allergy-friendly service has improved since then, but I am too afraid to return.

Chose Chart House for a birthday celebration on the recommendation of a gluten-intolerant friend, and had a wonderful experience. Upon learning that I have celiac, our waiter took special care to bring me the gluten-free menu, and confidently answered my questions.
I had the shrimp+mango+avocado stack as an appetizer, and the grilled chicken+asparagus with a side of mashed garlic potatoes as a main; all three were delicious.

Based on other reviews, the level of staff knowledge here seems to vary a lot. I went for happy hour and the server didn’t know what was gf: we had to ask about each individual item we were interested in, and then she’d go back and ask the chef. I ended up getting the hummus (sub extra taro chips for pita) and the fish tacos (they’re grilled, on corn tortillas). Both were good, especially the tacos, and I didn’t get sick.

There is no mention about food allergies and the waitstaff also does not ask. I specifically asked if my starter was gluten free, a sushi roll, which seemed to have been fine. She assured me she would check to make sure there’s no gluten. I then ordered a steak with a crab topping and asked again about gluten. Sick as a dog today and pretty sure the crab sauce has some gluten. It’s a nice place but be very careful as they don’t seem to be trained or very gluten aware

Went for Sunday brunch and had a wonderful time. They no longer offer a gluten free menu but many items were gluten free. I had the shrimp and grits and an order of sausage and had no problem. They can do the crab dip served with Parmesan crisps instead of bread. Many salads and burgers. They did have a gluten free bun. When walking out I looked at the sushi bar and they said they can do sushi safely and have tamari. Staff was knowledgeable. I took away a star since they recently got rid of the dedicated gf menu. No problems. I’d go back.

We visited this restaurant while staying in Savannah. Think I found it on https://www.visitsavannah.com/food-drink Lovely table outside on the balcony. Both the black and blue salmon and a filet were had. Also the Asian green beans which were great. Finished off with the “upgraded” lava cake. Service was impeccable. 5/5 ⭐Highly recommended if you are in Savannah

They have a gluten free menu. This was my second time eating there and it will be my last. The first time I had no issues, but this time I got sick. I stressed that I have Celiac and am very sensitive to gluten. The server was very friendly and made me feel comfortable, but it's not worth it to try again, after the way I felt for 3 days. I got the blackened Mahi with asparagus and was told it was baked in the oven in a separate pan. Maybe the jersey seasoning was contaminated. Either way, I dont feel safe eating here again.

Their food was okay. They did have plenty of options on a separate menu. I got their grilled chicken and it had no seasoning whatsoever. Just a plain bland chicken breast and some charred vegetables but that was only after they initially brought me the wrong dish and had to go back and get me the correct one.

Do not go here! Staff is not trained on allergen protocol!!!! Went for a birthday dinner. We noted I had a gluten allergy in the reservation notes and were given the gluten free menu. After ordering off of the provided GF menu and reminding the server that I had a gluten allergy with celiac, I was given a side with bread crumbs on top of the dish. The dish did not list the bread crumbs on the veggie on either menu. When the waitress came over and confirmed, she took the dish away with no apology and replaced the side. Manager eventually came over and it turns out my food was not marked as having an allergy. The restaurant didn’t even ask if I was okay. Poor service and got me sick, ruining my birthday.

From a gf standpoint the place is ok. There was a little uncertainty and food we were told was safe last time was said to be unsafe this time.

Nice place, good service. They had a GF menu when I was there (10/16/21) and it had several options. I picked the fish of the day which turned out to just be OK but the rest of my party, who did not need to eat GF, was very happy with their food. The staff was knowledgeable. I did not feel sick after. I'd recommend it to someone with Celiac.

You can definitely get gluten-free options at this restaurant, but our waiter, although very nice, clearly didn’t know what gluten-free meant. By asking questions and getting a very simple dish ( crab legs and baked potato) I did ok, but would have appreciated more information on other options.
