Gluten free fryer and a detailed allergy menu.

This chain restaurant is one of my go to stops while travelling in Western Canada. There seems to be dedicated gluten free fryers in every location. The menu is pub food with GF items labelled. My servers have been knowledgable about gluten allergy protocol and I always enjoy my meal. I often order the Rocky Mountain Chicken Club sandwich with yam (sweet potato) fries.

Burgers are available on a gf bun and it is hard to believe it isn't the real deal. They also keep a dedicated fryer so the fries are not contaminated with gluten either. They are family friendly until 8 pm I believe. A great place to watch a game with friends, share some drinks with colleagues or have a quiet late afternoon meal with family.

I had a great experience here. I was able to get a chicken burger with a gluten free bun ($2 up charge) and the tater tots which were made in a gluten free fryer.

If you are Celiac or just care about food safety in general DO NOT EAT HERE. I ordered a gluten free bun with my burger, I called and spoke to staff to ensure they knew it was a severe gluten issue and that I have celiac disease. After all that the restaurant still sends me a bag with gluten containing steal sauce. Upon beginning my meal I thought the sauce tasted strange so I called back again and sure enough, the sauce had gluten. The manager apologized and claimed staff was trained (on Muskoka health they had 2 serious infractions last inspection I doubt that training was effective) and said that she would train them again but judging by their track record on Simcoe Muskoka health, I doubt anyone is being trained sufficiently.
Most restaurants would offer a free meal, etc
for such a serious issue but I was told to go through Uber eats to get a refund.
On top of all that, the food was overpriced and mediocre. 0/5 if I could.

Have been to this place a few times and like the fact they have a dedicated fryer. On my latest visit I had a cross-contamination reaction (I get it, it happens). My challenge is that I called the restaurant and spoke with the manager on duty to let them know that they may have contamination in their gf fryer and felt like it was met with a “meh”. Takes the safety rating down significantly for me.

Went with friends wasn’t sure what to expect but was optimistic as the one celiac friend had eaten here before without issue. I ordered the Stony Plain Burger that came with fries. It was EXCELLENT! The burger did not fall apart and probably one of the best that I’ve had. Fries were delicious also and from a dedicated fryer. The restaurant is loud though as it’s a sports bar.

Staff is knowledgeable about what is gluten free and what can be modified to be gluten free (baked instead of fried). Their nachos are my favourite - an appetizer for the whole table that I can actually participate in.

Grilled chicken bowl said that it was dedicated gluten free on the menu but came with barely.
Caesar salad said that it was gluten free if you ordered it without the croutons. However it came to the table with deep fried capers not fried in a designated fryer.
I do not believe that the Canadian Brewhouse knows what gluten is and certainly doesn’t make the effort to find out.

Eaten here multiple times (in person and through delivery) and have had a couple issues when I've had the food delivered. I ordered the spinach dip and selected gluten friendly and added a comment about being celiac. I was given regular bread mixed with the corn chips. Very disappointed.

I went here for lunch because I read that they had a dedicated fryer. They not only had a dedicated fryer, but a really wide selection of gluten free options. Several pizzas, salads, beef, chicken, and plant-based burgers, battered fish and chips, and a couple of appetizers. The server patiently answered my questions, and was happy to dig through the freezer to check the packaging on the gluten-free hamburger buns for me. The bun was very good, a good texture and good taste. Something about the millet and chia gluten free bun that White Spot serves makes me sick, so I always ask servers to check their hamburger buns and this was not the same one. The server verbalized his plan to ensure my meal was gluten free, such as "I'll check the dip, and the burger sauce." The person who brought out my meal identified it as gluten free. The server's friendly banter leads me to believe he thinks celiac disease is a severe allergy, but I'm good with that, he clearly took it seriously. The only thing I'd recommend: they use plant-based biodegradable plastic straws, and I didn't find out what they were made of, so I'd recommend finding out or asking for no straw.

I’m always nervous eating out as I get sick most of the time. I decided to get the kale salad with no barley and she changed to whatever dressing was gf. I got added chicken and made sure to let kitchen know about how severe I am! It was delicious and I was totally fine. Great service and nice patio!

Got takeout from here. Ordered a gluten free burger, fries, and pizza. The burger tasted terrible and they didn't even cook the fries or pizza. It was served to us as white mush. Had to ask them to redo it. They tried to tell us "That's just how gluten free pizza is." No. You just didnt cook it properly. Everyone got so sick after eating here. The staff seemed very under trained and didn't really know how to do anything. Never again. Won't be going back.

Based on the mixed reviews, I think it matters who you speak with at this restaurant. My server was super helpful, very knowledgeable about celiac disease and went out of her way to recommend which gf menu items were the least likely to be cross contaminated. I had wings and fries, both done in the dedicated deep fryer. Good by me!

I just called after reading reviews about a dedicated fryer and the guy on the phone said twice when I asked that they did not have a dedicated fryer so I would maybe call first before you go and tread with caution. I live in Calgary, here visiting and the calgary location does have one so I'm glad I called as I am celiac. I ended up not going here for the reason of no fryer so only giving review based on my phone call to contact them prior to going to confirm for yourself.

Arrived late from a flight and had to scramble from our planned gf choice. This was a good choice. Was not crowded. Service was slow but it was late. Server was knowledgeable about celiac. GF or can be made gf marked on menu. Had two options that were good for the two who needed it in our group. Stir fry and nachos were good.

I went to the Brewhouse because it was a beautiful day and they have a patio. I thought I'd just have a salad but to my surprise the Brewhouse has a great gluten-free menu! All the burger patties are GF, they have GF buns and also a dedicated fryer for French fries and sweet potato fries. I informed the waitress that I was Celiac and the staff took it seriously. Not only was my meal GF, but it was also delicious. I recommend it for the patio and the GF choices!

I love the variety of gluten free options here. My gripes are that it’s not very kid friendly, most tables are bar height, food is expensive, and nothing on the kids menu can be ordered gluten free. My kid wanted a plain burger and fries and we had to order the $25 burger from the main menu, plus a drink and dessert so she wouldn’t feel so different from the other kids that could order from the kids menu which included drink and dessert. Disappointing.

If your in a rush or time crunch you will want to go somewhere else. Service was good but our meal took quite a while. Once the food arrived it was decent. Fries are cook in their own fryer to minimize cross contamination. The gluten free bun with the Canadian Burger was delicious. Not overly crunchy like some can be, and moist. It was a big helping. Fries were very salty, they were great but super salty. The gravy sadly was NOT gluten free.

Got sick from eating here. Waitress was nice but didn’t seem interested in paying attention to me being celiac. Someone else brought out our food and when I asked if it was gluten free she had a blank look and then said yes it was. No little flag on my plate stating it was gluten free. ( they do that in Calgary) anyhow, I would not recommend eating there if you are celiac. Thanks

They have a dedicated fryer for all of their gluten free items. Lots of choices on menu too. They have gluten free fish n chips (more breaded than battered), gluten free pizza crust, gluten free burger buns. Lots of gluten free options for their menu items. ALSO they use gluten free Worcestershire sauce (French's brand) so you have have gluten free caesars ❤
