Got a burger & fries, did not react. Food was decent, gf items clearly marked. Server knew what she was talking about.

Lots of gluten free options on the menu. Had teh bacon cheese burger and fries which were both fantastic.
Went here on a busy Sunday night. Seated right away and rapid service for the order. Then nothing, took 15 minutes for the drinks to arrive. Food arrived on time, but we had to ask 3 times for drink refills before they arrived. We felt like we were on an island!
Great food and we had a great time otherwise.

Please PLEASE do NOT eat the specialty fries available even if it says GF on the menu. They’re in fact not. The waitress confirmed that they fry the fries in the same fryer they use for all other foods (including gluten). I did get a chicken sandwich on a gluten free bread. It was ok, but was just really disappointed about the fries.

I’ve eaten here multiple times without having issues, and I am quite sensitive. They continue to confirm that they have a dedicated fryer for all types of fries - regular and sweet potato. They once made a mistake with the GF bun on my burger, but the runner noticed before bringing it to the table and had them remake it right away (not just trying to swap out the bun). I had to wait 10 mins for a new sandwich, but they gave me fries to nibble, and I could tell they were remaking the whole thing, not just slapping a GF bun on the cross-contacted burger in order to be done. It was nice that they noticed their own mistake and just took care of it. Overall it seems like the management takes celiac seriously and trains the staff well.

Safe chain with several GF options. Our son enjoyed his burger on GF bun and fries from designated fryer. Our daughter enjoyed GF chicken bowl. Our server was kind and knowledgeable, lunch was delicious and safe. We appreciate simple efforts to include patrons with celiac. Thank you Islands!

Per server today (Dec. 22, 2023), there is no longer a gluten-free menu. There are still GF buns and a dedicated fryer for fries. However, server also gave a verbal cross-contamination warning for the fryer, stating "oil sometimes gets mixed".
At lunch, food came out fairly quickly, fresh, & hot. Service was good.
GF bun is of a type that could easily be mistaken with a regular bun, which is a bit nerve-wracking.
Good food, but would recommend caution.

Dedicated fryer for fries. Need I say more? Ate here twice on my stay and had 2 different burgers. The gf bun is decent and holds its shape as your burger is eaten.

Tonight my son ordered gluten free bun. They gave him a whole wheat bun instead we are up sick all night. His dad ordered the whole wheat bun and they after 2 times telling them I’m celiac they gave the wrong bun to my son. Ughhh this is serious people. So sad

This is NOT a celiac friendly place. They have a gluten free menu, sure, but I was glutened here and developed the worst case of DH I’ve ever seen because of it. I’ve never dealt with DH before this. But it literally was all over my body. My toes, feet, ankles, calves, knees, thighs, arms, scalp, my face, and my hands were covered in it like gloves. Do not waste your time with this establishment. Even when you make it crystal clear that you have celiac disease and need the kitchen to change their gloves you’ll still end up sick.

Great experience! GF options are clearly marked and there are multiple options. Had the loaded cheese fries and they were crispy and delicious. Also had the carnitas tacos which we great as well. The non-GF members of our family had fried chicken sandwiches and said they were one of the best chicken sandwiches they’ve had. Fries are cooked in a separate fryer. Highly recommend!

I have eaten here three times, and have ordered the same thing each time (fries, chocolate shake, and burger with guac). I always had great experiences here and communicated with staff about having celiac disease. They took it seriously and informed me about preparation and serving. One of the servers has celiac and another’s mom had celiac so I felt safe here. The most recent time I went, I ordered my usual meal and something was definitely not gluten free and I was unfortunately sick for days afterwards. I’m leaving towards maybe the shake because the bun was gluten free and my reaction makes me believe it was a large amount of gluten

The server was knowledgeable about Celiac and cross-contamination.
The fries are cooked in there own oil, nothing else is cooked in the oil.
I ordered the Hawaiian burger, without the teriyaki sauce, on a gluten free bun. The burger was tasty, but I found the bun to be heavy and dry, no flavor.
The menu is lite on GF labeling of food items.

I’m a sensitive celiac and I felt like I was starting to react to the seasoning on the fries so I requested a batch without it and those were fine. Hopefully I didn’t consume too much but as of now I feel fine. — Brought my own GF ketchup since I’m so sensitive
Jacob is AMAZING!! Super friendly and helpful. Made sure my celiac dining experience was safe and that’s HUGE!! Maria the manager came over and was very informative of their extra safety measures as well.

Islands has always had a very small gluten-free menu. But, in recent months, they have maintained an online nutrition guide and allergen guide. Using those, I can figure out what really is gluten-free, above and beyond what the menus and servers suggest. I have used those as guidelines, and have not gotten sick.

They always ask if you have an allergy or a sensitivity, and I’ve never gotten sick from eating here. The gluten free buns are actually really tasty and soft! Huge plus! You can also get the tacos on corn tortillas or a beach bowl- but ask for no sauce because the sauce has gluten in it.

Great place to grab a burger! Gf buns. Daughter who is celiac loves them. Fried in dedicated fryer. Other gf options too like tacos, sandwiches & salads. Staff extremely friendly and knowledgeable about gluten allergies. Manager personally ensured food was handled safely. Will be our go-to burger place!

Server was somewhat knowledgeable. They had a specific GF menu but shared kitchen spaces. My husband ordered off the GF menu and the server told us she would make sure to emphasize. Husbands tacos came out on flour tortillas… they remade and manager brought them back out and apologized. Didn’t get glutened once they brought us the correct tacos though.

I would never go back here. Terrible service and little concern for gluten allergies. Yes, I know celiac is not an allergy but that is what we tell the servers to avoid confusion when we go out. They brought my Celtic daughter’s food stacked with all the normal buns. Everything touching. The waitress was rude when I mentioned the gluten allergy as well. Island’s is usually better. Steer clear of this location.

Amazing service and they took my daughter’s allergy very seriously. Also, the manager hand walked our food out. They even insisted to get her a gf bun, even though we didn’t order it. She was one happy camper with her gf cheeseburger and fries. She didn’t get their ice cream but was so excited to know she had the option if she wanted to.

We used our Nimasensor and the fries are definitely gluten-free!! They have dedicated fryers and are aware of cross-contamination. Appreciate their efforts!
Yes
The gf menu is very limited. Example: Even the guacamole has gluten in it (they checked). I'm only giving them 2 stars because the food wasn't great (Red Robin is better) and the service was crappy (got all 3 of our orders wrong), plus they charged us double for an entree we only ordered 1 of.
I had let my server know I had Celiac. Ordered a burger no bun and side salad. The salad came with croutons. When I let them know I can’t have a salad with croutons, they took it back and I WATCHED the “chef” pick the croutons off and put the salad on a serving tray to send back out. They really don’t know and don’t care about you’re food allergy. Would NOT go back
No
We had a great experience here! The staff at the host stand were not immediately familiar with celiac, but they got the manager who informed me that they had a dedicated fryer and separate cooking area and utensils. They have a gluten-free menu and all the french fries are GF. Our server was great, and they even proactively redid my daughter’s burger when they realized that the last person to lay hands on the order had not changed gloves. We really appreciated this.
