Safe place to dine at for Celiac’s!
We eat here frequently due the convenience and I always have had good experiences. There are plenty of fresh fish entrée options and the staff take my Celiac status seriously. The manager on duty typically will come over before I order to either take my order or check to see if I have any questions.
The staff was friendly, patient, and knowledgeable about precautions to take for celiac disease. The waitress explained protocol was to inform manager who would oversee all. The manager introduced himself and was friendly, respectfully, knowledgeable and explained how staff worked to manage allergies and gluten. I felt safe and comfortable. My food was absolutely delicious!
I avoid gluten (and dairy, but not as sensitive to that), and got glutened here today. Had the Shanghai Shrimp Salmon and Scallops. The waitress assured me that she poured the Tamari (to avoid soy sauce), into the little bowl that was on my plate with the fish and rice. It must have been something that happened in the kitchen. I called back and told the manager, and she apologized and was going to followup with the kitchen. If you are celiac, beware.
Horrible food and servicd.
We've always loved this restaurant, but now coming here with a Celiac daughter we have a whole new appreciation. The staff was very knowledgeable and even though the gluten free menu was great, they helped us create an all-original dish for our daughter (and she didn't get sick). We definitely recommend it!
Loved this restaurant! Make a reservation. Very nice atmosphere. Great service. No gluten issues. Delicious food!!!
Decent food. They were very nice about accommodating my dietary restrictions (gluten, dairy, soy), and I did not get sick after eating there.
They changed owners earlier this year and it's no longer a Cameron Mitchell's restaurant. They still have a gf menu with a handful of items but do not offer gf bread. Our server was not knowledgable of food allergies and kept suggesting options with gluten, I had to remind him over and over that I had a gluten allergy- very frustrating and it made me a bit nervous. Overall, the experience was definitely not as great as other Cameron Mitchell restaurants in regards to their allergy accommodations.
Always good. Staff understand the issues of serious gluten intolerance
Aside from the fact my food was awful and the service was worse, the waitress didn't know anything about the gluten free menu. She brought my appetizer out with soy sauce, even after I specified I was gluten free. The GF menu also stated that all of the Fresh Catches can be made gluten free. I ordered the lobster and shrimp stuffed cod and when it arrived as just cod I was confused. I asked the waitress and she told me that I actually ordered the only fresh catch that can't be prepared the same way. Which would have been useful information before I ordered originally.
They are very knowledgable and GF has a menu where everything is clearly labeled.
I ate two bites and had an immediate reaction. The manager and chef swore it was gluten free but it looked like a bit of soy sauce had gotten on my white rice (the bite I ate was completely white, but didn't taste like plain rice so I started to dig around in it.) The seafood I did taste was a bit over cooked. I would not recommend this place if you are very sensitive.
The service was terrible. It seems that they can do gluten free, but if you have any additional exclusion forget it. My daughter requested dairy free too...her whole meal had to be redone because apparently the waiter didn't understand butter is dairy. Extremely expensive for the quality and service. I would not recommend. There are a lot of other better choices in the area.
The waiter was knowledgeable and just made for a very fun dining experience, combined with good food and no issues or questions if my food was safe, I give them five stars!
knowledgeable soy allergy, gluten free menu. tasty grilled scallops and shrimp with baby reds and grilled veggies
Great gluten free menu. Can substitute for the soy sauce with a great sauce. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Highly recommend.
After explaining my condition to the waiter, I asked him to alert the chef AND double check my order before bringing it out. I ordered the g-free Shanghi style tilapia. When they brought it out I thought the soy sauce smelled WAY too good to be true so I insisted that the waiter double check gluten-free status with the chef. And the verdict... It was not gluten free. Brought me a "regular" order with wheat soy sauce. Should have known better when the waiter said he'd never heard of "that disease" before. Haven't eaten at a restaurant in 6 months but wanted so badly tonight to celebrate my fiancé's birthday along with the rest of the family. Sick & tired of going out to dinner and having a glass of water. Gluten free menus and restaurants that have them tend to support the fad, not the celiac. (Otherwise the staff would be properly trained). False hope just sucks.
average food with below average service. They have a gluten free menu but no idea about cross contamination
