While they do offer GF crust, the red sauce is dumped out of a ladle and then spread across all doughs. So there is definitely a high chance of cross contamination. After seeing this, I decided not to chance it and did not order. There also is no indoor seating.

A lot of cross contact at this location. They are willing to change gloves if you ask. Gluten free crust available, but they use the same ingredients and cutter for all pizzas. I had ordered online and I didn’t notice this until after the cuts were made. My friend said it was delicious though, I didn’t eat it because of all of the cross contact witnessed.

I was glutened pretty severely from their "gluten free" pizza... based on prior experience, I believe more than cross contamination.

Nope. Yes, they have a GF crust, but I watched them take their gloved hands that was covered in wheat flour - they flour the surface before rolling out the wheat dough crusts - and go straight into the cheese and toppings. She offered to change gloves when I complained but what good would that have done? The wheat flour was already clearly contaminating all of the toppings. I left. This is just not a safe place if you have celiac or cannot otherwise eat gluten. I’m not usually a stickler for cross contamination, but this was just obviously unsafe.

They have gluten free crust, but the preparer was not knowledgeable about a gluten allergy and did not leave me feeling confident he would avoid cross contamination. I’m not even confident he actually remembered to give me the gluten free crust. I haven’t had symptoms yet but I will not be coming back.

We were impressed with &pizza! They have an allergen list online and the only items that contain gluten are the regular crust and beef meatballs. When I told them one of us has a gluten allergen, they cleaned the counters, switched gloves and used a separate pizza cutter. The only negative was that we couldn’t see the pizza once it was in the oven, so we couldn’t verify if it had touched anything else. The crust was really good.

I stay at the Hotel Hive about every other month and & Pizza is at the hotel. If you look in the kitchen, there is a real possibility of cross contamination. Since I always have a full schedule of meetings, I’ve always been too scared to try the pizza. This visit, I had enough time where I could risk it. The pizza was okay (a little bland), but it was convenient to be able to eat at my hotel when I was super tired. I am feeling some mild issues from cross contamination, but it’s not so bad that I’ll be running for a restroom (just uncomfortable).
The bar has no gf beer or hard cider. They do have hard seltzer and mixed drinks.
& Pizza used to have a breakfast skillet. They don’t serve it anymore. If you’re staying at the hotel, be advised that there are no longer any gf breakfast options. Whole Foods is a few blocks away so you can get some breakfast food there if you’re in a hurry.
It is super hit and miss with the staff if they know about gluten. I have yet to have anyone ask “Allergy or preference?” You have to ask a lot of questions and tell them what you need most of the time.
Overall, don’t go here if you’re hungry or can’t get sick. If you’re staying at the hotel, are exhausted, and you can deal with digestive issues or other symptoms, it’s meh pizza.

I am new to the gluten free world and ate the pizza here and it was a great experience. The server cleaned everything off prior to cooking my pizza and cooked mine before the other people with me. The pizza was also delicious!!

Wonderful pizza joint. I've only gotten it delivered, so it's arrived a bit colder than I'd like, but it's a damned decent gf pizza.
Good flavor, good sauce, myriad toppings options, creative VHS style box, a bit expensive but most gf pizzas are.
Honestly, I'm excited to go in person, I think it'd only get better.

They have homemade gluten free pizza. I watched them clean the work space, change gloves, and use separate utensils. I am sure there is some contamination from the shared toppings and they did a really good job minimizing it. The pizza was good.

They were super careful and no symptoms! Changed gloves, wiped surfaces, and got fresh ingredients. Just be sure to reiterate your allergy since there might be different servers packing your pizza up as opposed to the one making it.

You can order a pizza with gluten free crust. It isn’t the most delicious thing in the world but it’s hardly noticeable under the toppings you add. The pepperoni is gluten free as well. One thing taking my rating down is that the last time I went to this location they said that they hadn’t taken the gluten free dough out of the freezer so it wasn’t available at the time, and this is already after I had ordered and paid for the pizza on the app. Pretty disappointing walking over there to pick it up and them telling me it wasn’t available, but they offered me two free pizza coupons instead.

Workers were responsive to my questions and requests but I didn’t get a sense the warranted steps would have been taken had I not asked. They were kind and accommodating with ensuring clean baking tray and clean pizza cutter were used. Prep counters had a lot of residual crumbs from prior orders. While fresh gloves were worn, the same open cheese bin was used. All that said, my daughter did not seem to have a negative reaction. The flavors were great and it was a nice spot for quick lunch for GF and nonGF meal

I ordered the gluten free pizza here and have visited this establishment a few times before. Usually when I say gluten free, they are careful and use separate tools and wipe everything down; I have never gotten sick before. Recently, I went and the workers were annoyed that I said gluten free. They sloppily wiped down the counter and did not clean the utensils used. I do have celiac and i got sick after eating this past time. There is a lot of cross contamination and be careful if you also have celiac as I feel like it’s a gamble to eat here.

One of the best experiences I’ve had at a restaurant since being diagnosed, the employees wiped down the entire surface, got the pizza tray from the back, washed hands and changed gloves, cut the pizza with a fresh cutter, and each time my pizza changed hands the employee confirmed my allergy with me to make sure they were avoiding cross contamination. Made me feel heard and very comfortable without me even having to constantly remind them of the necessary precautions

The gluten free pizza here tastes fine, but I have gotten sick from it on multiple occasions. They make a big show of cleaning the prep surface and putting on fresh gloves when putting toppings on the gf pizza, letting the other person down the line know that they need to cut it at the special cutting area. This is wonderful. But despite all this I noticed that they store the gf crusts next to where they make the regular crusts, and use the same ladle to apply the sauce (rubbing it the against the crust as they apply it) and cook the pizza in the same extremely small conveyer belt oven as all the others. To make matters worse, I'm really put off by them advertising the gf crust as "clean" eating. This should have been a red flag from the beginning that they ultimately do this for people with a preference and not celiac. I really wanted to like this place but I really cannot eat their food again.

Told them I was celiac, employee literally looks at me, bang metal tray with pizza crust, some falls off, then throws pizza down on it. Employees do not care at all or respect celiac.
One manager there, young guy has been there when I went in before, wiped down counters, changed gloves. Unless he’s there I don’t feel safe going and especially not getting delivered. Ordered it online & got poisoned.

I would never go here again. I got a gluten free create your own pizza. We watched them wash their hands and wipe down the counters. But we had to tell them to use new tongs and a fresh pizza cutter. They said they only used the utensils that were in that were in the toppings and never used their hands so we trusted them. I got so sick so they did something wrong.

I've ordered online several times, but I was really impressed when I went in person. The person who took my order (Laia, I think) alerted the rest of the staff that there was an allergy, and they cleared all the counters. They took all the ingredients from a separate location and used new gloves and utensils. It was excellent.

Gluten free pizzas offered with a variety of toppings. I didn’t add extra dressing at the end because I’m gotten ill with dressings before. I only ate half and felt sick later. I feel like I got gluten but I’m not sure. Cross contamination, possible. Unlike other reviewers this location didn’t ask if was an allergy. My boyfriend said they used different serving utensils but I didn’t see that. Anyway makes me not want to return and I’m tossing my left overs :-(

I have eaten at &pizzas around DC numerous times without issue. I ordered a gf pizza via their app & it came to me on regular crust. I contacted them (a pain in the butt) & then sent me a code & I reordered. Again, the wrong pizza. Contacted them again. 2hrs later, no response. Poorly managed store with employees that don't pay attention to details. Don't risk it.
