I had an amazing experience. Our waitress was knowledgeable and had the manager come over to take my order. The gf menu is quite big and there were lots of options. They warn that it is not a dedicated gf kitchen but they’re very conscious. Food was excellent, and I felt totally fine after the fact.
We had a wonderful experience when we ate there two weeks ago. The staff was really supportive and kind. All food came out labelled and the staff was really helpful explaining what did and didn’t have a cross contamination list. Enough options were gluten free that we were able to share small plates together. We didn’t get sick, and we look forward to going back soon.
I went here with my significant other, and it was such a great experience. The waitress was super clear about what I could safely eat and even had the manager come out to double-check everything with me. The menu was clearly marked, and they were really careful about how they cooked the food.
I have celiac disease and usually get bad stomach pain, throw up and get fatigue if there’s any cross-contamination, and throw up and other stuff if there’s more than that but I didn’t have any issues at all—during or after the meal. They really know what they’re doing, so I’d definitely recommend it if you need a safe, gluten-free spot!
Great experience! I told the waitress I was celiac. She gave me a gluten free menu and had the manager come to our table and help me. Thanks for taking care of this this, I felt that they are worry of our wellness
Great staff, atmosphere and great (glutenfree) food. I had dinner with my daughter who has celiac disease. In that case you get a special menu with only glutenfree options. It is their policy that the manager himself takes the order and delivers it to the kitchen. So this makes you feel relaxed and safe. The staff was very friendly and committed, we felt welcome from the first second. Food was lovely, especially the tacos's with pulled pork were to die for. Prices are, giving that it is London and Shoreditch, reasonable. All in all e very nice and relaxed dinner, next year we will definitely go here again. So keep the pork on the menu!
First-class treatment! GF chips, marked everything with allergy sticks, I ordered everything with the manager, and they provided a complete GF menu.
Incredible experience for a celiac on vacation. Their staff took it very seriously and presented not only a GF menu but celiac-safe indicators. My partner also had a delicious, gluten-FILLED (lucky) quesadilla she had dreams about later that night. Fun for the whole family!
Went to eat without reservation. This was no problem at all. They have a separate GF menu. They asked if I was gluten intolerant and the moment I said I was celiac everything was taken seriously. The manager took my order and it was prepared and served separate from the gluten order my friend had. The food was delicious and I felt very safe and taken seriously. 10/10 would recommend 🤩
The server proactively asks if you have allergies and there is a separate GF menu which distinguishes between items that are safer for celiac vs items that you could have cross contamination due to shared fryer. The manager is the only one that can take your GF order which made me feel better. I had the beef, pork and chicken tacos, all on corn tortillas. My favorite was the pork taco. Everything was very fresh. They also have GF safe tortilla chips that we had with guacamole and salsa. But If dining with GF picky eater kids, I would just warn that the tacos are a bit fancy and spicier so don’t think this is a plain kids menu.
Too small a kitchen at this Wahaca to be coeliac friendly. We followed advice and were given the GF warning (we have eaten safely at other Wahaca’s) but my daughter had massive gluten reaction. Don’t trust the GF flag at this restaurant if you are a coeliac. They are investigating the cause so I was very happy they are taking it seriously.
Very sensitive celiac-good experience. The server asked if I had an allergy when I enquired about gluten-free foods. I said yes and he sent over the manager to take my order. My salad originally came with a fried ingredient. the manager noticed and took it away to have it remade. The food was delicious. The Sundae was incredible.
I visited this location twice on holiday in December and once this week and all experiences have been great! The menu is well labeled and even notes which items that are fried in a cross contaminated fryer. The manager takes the order and checks it before going to the table to ensure that proper allergy protocols have been used, they told me if it doesn’t have an allergy flag DO NOT eat it. This time I ordered the Pork Tacos and the Beef Gringa tacos, both were outstanding and would recommend to anyone who dines here.
I loved eating here! The manager sat me, and when I asked for a gluten free menu he immediately asked if it was allergy or preference. Everything I ate came out with an allergy tag, and he said that managers are the only ones allowed to handle allergy marked food. I had pico and tortilla chips (which I was assured were safe), he clarified the modifications he was making to make sure my food was safe, and the menu even clarified the difference between celiac and preference safe food. Definitely stop by at Paddington!
Went for lunch. Met the standards of the chain which is very focused on gluten allergies. GF isn’t marked on the main menu but there is a dedicated sub-menu showing the GF options and the risk of contamination options (mostly deep fried options). Employees take allergies very (almost too) seriously. The available food appears to be exactly the same as non-GF, only marked. Really enjoyed it here.
Great range of options and everything is clearly labelled. They ask if you have an allergy and add little allergy flags to the food so you can be sure they’ve made sure your meal is allergen free specifically.
We had guac and chips, chicken tacos and beef tacos. All was delicious - potentially a bit on the smaller side for portions for the price but was tasty regardless!
Gluten "sensitive" menu available BUT if you're actually celiac (like me), read carefully, as they do list cross-contaiminated items (ie. gluten free potatoes that are cooked in a fryer that gluten items have also been fried in).
That said: my tacos and salsa flyte with chips were excellent and the mango/habernero sauce is addictive 😊
Dedicated GF menu including options for milder sensitivities . More options than you know what to do with. Super knowledgeable helpful staff. A delight for us to dine in 🤩
Wahaca has been a favourite for years! I’ve been to this location too many times to count and it’s incredible. The staff is very knowledgeable. They have a manager come to the table to take allergen orders. All food is marked with flags to indicate gluten-free or allergen plates. The kitchen is not all gluten-free so some contamination is possible, but I’ve eaten here for years and never had an issue. They have gf tortilla chips because the normal ones are fried in a shared fryer. The food is incredible!!
I've been here before and everything was great. They advised they can't 100% prevent cross contamination but would do everything they can. Went along tonight and the manager was quite insistent about the cross contamination and she advised the kitchen don't use a separate grill for gf or she couldn't guarantee they'd wipe down prep areas before handing gf food.
I was given a gluten free menu and talked through it. They have a selection for no contamination and a selection for those who are on with contamination. Manager took my order. Very tasty food. Although a very long wait for drinks and food and it all came at very different times. Only option for desert was ice cream, whilst everyone else has churros :( Also extremely busy so a reservation Very much needed!
Staff was very knowledgeable about cross contamination. They don’t have a separate kitchen. I specified I was ordering for an allergy (Celiac) and he disclaimed that there’s not a 100% guarantee which should be expected with no separate kitchen. The menu has a section for gluten free and another for “Milder Gluten Sensitivities”, obviously if you’re celiac DO NOT order from that section. I’m an extremely sensitive celiac and ordered a rainbow bowl as it looked the safest and felt completely fine after. Not 100% safe but just be careful when ordering. Also had a gluteguard tablet before my meal which may have helped.
I‘ve had a great experience at wahaca. I felt taken seriously and was immediately introduced to the manager who explained their safety protocols in detail. The coeliac-safe food options were quite limited, but the food I chose tasted good and came out labelled „allergy“ which was an extra reassurance.
