This place is not safe for Celiac !! The menu states several times cross contamination. We were greeted by dirty table when we sat down, we moved again still dirty. We waited over an hour for our food. The timing with the kitchen was very off since there were only 10 active tables going. The sever was friendly and a good listener with our allergies. They try to appear with healthier options but they don’t really all meats had nitrates as well. They need to revaluate serving the GF community. I was not offered to make the food Seperately.
Went here a few years ago with my stepmother and an hour or two later I was throwing up for the rest of the morning. We told them that I have Celiac Disease and needed to be completely gluten free and they said ok. I got the gluten free pancakes. Obviously they didn’t care or they thought Celiac isn’t a real thing or they thought I was just on a diet or I don’t know but I almost had to go to the hospital as I was throwing up for hours. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU HAVE CELIAC DISEASE.
Our server was very knowledgeable about gluten allergies, and he let me know I wasn’t glued to the separate GF menu because they are a scratch kitchen. I got the blueberry, goat cheese, and lemon pancakes with a side of baked bacon and eggs (and grits because I had to try them) and it was SO GOOD. My mouth is watering thinking about it a day later. I didn’t get sick (and I’m super sensitive) and the place is really cool and close to lots of cool things. We went straight from the airport here and it did not disappoint. I am always so nervous trying a new place in a new city especially, and this place is so worth it. Also, if they “run out of batter” as mentioned in over reviews, it’s okay because they have plenty of other great choices that are safe!!
I love this place. Not the best GF breakfast in Dallas, but they have the best Gf pancakes!! So good. They have a gf menu (without prices listed, which is a tad annoying), and everything I’ve had has been really good. The bacon is unreal.
Food was very good. Had GF pancakes with goat cheese amazing but you need to know some things on GF menu are not GF. For example we made the hostess double check the grits which were on the menu they said they were not GF. Also the sausage made them check not GF so as always have a conversation with them. They were really nice and did check.
Wonderful gf, df breakfast. I had an omelet, potatoes, and toast. Their gf bread is brown from Simple Kneads. The waiter was knowledgeable and my bread was toasted in the oven. He was friendly and was aware of food allergies and cross contamination. I highly recommend this restaurant!
I had the gluten-friendly bananas foster pancake breakfast, because when am I ever going to get something like that again? It was like having dessert in the morning! I gave only 3 stars because I feel the prices are really high. Over $40 for two breakfasts and coffee seems unreasonable for what we got. My husband did not enjoy his gluten-full regular pancakes and my gluten-friendly ones were good, but I feel like they wouldn’t have been as tasty without the Carmel-y sauce and whipped cream covering them. The one bite without the toppings was meh... They charge an up charge for GF and if you don’t eat pork (bacon or sausage) your choices are grits or an up-charged side of fruit... a small side of fruit. I would not say they’re celiac friendly because if the chances of cross contamination.
Several gf options, pancakes and omelette and more. They say "gluten friendly" but they are gf ingredients and staff are excellent about using clean equipment to cook when they know it's an allergy. (This is a chain, and every location so far I've been to is similarly good)
There was a 45 minute wait and a line out the door and great reviews so we had to try it! They have a separate GF menu. I had the banana foster GF pancakes. I was a bit scared to eat them but after the first bite I was in GF heaven!! 🙌🏼 Best pancakes I’ve ever had!!
I just had their gluten free pancakes and thought they tasted like the real thing. Seriously the best gluten free pancakes I've ever had and now in my top 5 pancake list (includes pancakes I had before having to go gluten free). I don't know if I'll be able to order anything other than this next time I go. No bad reactions and I didn't have to say anything to the waitress about my allergy. I would still mention it just to be safe. Enjoy!
The food here is so good and I didn't get sick after eating here! I ordered the Hey Lucy omelette with dollar size gluten free pancakes and I ate every single bite! The coffee was also really good! Will definitely be coming back here soon!
Great menu options, and they have pancakes! So much to choose from!
I had a great experience eating here! My waitress told the chef to make my food separately and they did - I was able to have pancakes and an omelet! The staff was very accommodating and I would highly recommend.
I only have great things to say about this place. The gluten friendly pancakes are easily the best pancakes I’ve ever had. And the omelet my wife had is all she can talk about now! Definitely give this place a try!! Great food! Great staff! And very nice atmosphere!
Very tasty, great menu, but even though my wife had their gluten free pancakes she had a standard contamination reaction afterward. They don't claim to be gluten free, only gluten friendly, which is useless for someone with Celiac's.
The staff was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. There were several gluten free options. Felt very safe eating here. The food was fabulous! Will definitely eat here again whether in this location or another city.
They do not use separate area for cleaning. However, they were extremely accommodating, and said they would do their best to keep the area gluten free. I did not get sick and I had the lemon, blueberry, goat cheese gluten free pancakes. They were amazing! They came with a side of bacon and eggs. I would definitely eat here again! They had a big selection of “gluten-friendly” options.
When we first entered through the doors we asked for a gluten free menu, at the top of the menu there is a warning to tell your waitress/waiter about any health conditions. We explained that I have celiac and the waitress said the only thing on the gluten-free menu is the Lobster and brie omelette( since they use “fake” lobster along with the use of real lobster.) When the food was brought out it was the manager who brought it to us and said that his father has celiac and made us felt safer that he knew what it was.
In my opinion, this is the best (safe and delicious) gluten free breakfast option at the beach. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, a dedicated separate menu for gluten free, everything is well marked and very clear and is one of the few places where I actually feel that I have many options and won’t have to order the same thing every time. Yes. So excited to have this restaurant near by.
I had the sunrise spinach omelet, substituted my English muffin for GF pancake, and upgraded my potatoes to fruit. The meal was good, they brought a individual container of syrup to avoid contamination, and my only complaint was that the pancakes seemed undercooked so the texture wasn’t what I was looking for.
