Eat here regularly. I order the GF chicken tacos with fries every time I go from their GF menu. Fries are made in a dedicated fryer, so they’re GF. Manager recommended the Cobb salad dressing for dipping sauce, which is vinegar based (and I love) instead of the Ranch dressing (which is NOT gluten free at this restaurant). Make sure you state you have a gluten allergy when ordering. I love Islands!

A friend recommend checking out Islands after she ate successfully off the gluten free menu. We have been multiple times now and my very sensitive Celiac daughter has eaten there without getting sick. They have a dedicated fryer for fries and a nice selection of items on their gluten free menu.

Super excited to find a burger place in my family's neighborhood that offers gluten l-free buns! They also have salad options (be sure to ask which ones are gluten-free) and tacos. The burgers are tasty and high-quality with fun add-ons like fried egg and bacon. They got my four substitutions right also (gluten-free bun, no cheese, add an egg, sweet potato fries). They have ice cream sundaes that are gluten-free (though not dairy-free, which I also needed).

I am a sensitive celiac. I had a burger wrapped in lettuce and the fries. They have a separate fryer for gluten free fries. It tasted good, and I had no issues. It was nice to go out and not have to worry.

Manager came out after my food arrived to say the item I ordered on the GF menu was not GF due to the sauce. Good thing I hadn’t started eating it yet. We left as I no longer trusted the kitchen to abide by the GF menu appropriately

The staff was very knowledgeable of our needs for my daughter with celiac. The waitress double checked that gloves would be changed, there was a separate dedicated fryer, and made sure to talk to the chefs and the manager. The manager brought out her food and said that he watched the preparation of all of it to assure there was no cross contamination. They took it all very seriously and I was quite impressed. We will definitely be returning.

They will not accommodate gluten allergy. Not one item. I sat and watched my family enjoy their meal and never went back.

Has always been safe for me. They have a good GF menu, fries are safe. I tell them I have Celiac (they mark it as “gluten allergy) and I’ve never gotten sick.

I have Celiac and it's my second visit to an Islands restaurant. They can make your burgers with gf bun or lettuce. The fries are awesome too.

Islands has improved a lot recently. They have a GF me menu with buns for their burgers and sandwiches. Their fries and tortilla chips are made in a dedicated fryer.

A gluten free menu has been added since the last two reviews. It’s very small, but it includes nachos, fries, a salad, a burger, chicken, two taco options, and a sundae. I ordered nachos, which were not to my liking as there was way too much cheese and grease. However, extra care was taken for my order and I did not get sick. I would try this place again, but order something else. (My non celiac companions all enjoyed their meals.)

I have Celiac which means I must eat gluten free. They have a separate menu, and were great. The manager brought my chicken tacos out himself. I tested them on my Nima Sensor and they tested gluten free!

First off, customer service was amazing. Our waitress was on top of her knowledge with gluten. The general manager Ryan, personally came to the table to ask about our experience. Secondly, dedicated fryer - yes! Thank you Islands for paying attention to those with food allergies.

While the burgers only come lettuce wrapped they do have a dedicated fryer for the fries. They have taco options and many salads. The staff also gives suggestions and offers to change things up to make it gluten free :) while the list isn't huge it's still nice to know other places have options

My wife and I LOVE this Island's. I have Celiac, and she has Celiac plus dairy plus allergies to paprika and red pepper. They are always really nice when taking the orders, informing the manager, and taking care of all of our reactions. In 5 years we have never had a cross contamination issue. They use separate fryers, change gloves, etc. Very accommodating and careful and also don't make you feel like a pain in the butt with the long instructions on the order

Gluten free menu with a few choices. The burger was great with a lettuce wrap and dedicated fryer for the French fries! Also, I had cheese melted on the fries. Would definitely recommend!!!

I made sure that they knew I had celiac and they had to be careful and they dropped wheat into my plate and all they had to say was "sorry". I had a reaction. Terrible place. Manager doesn't know how to properly take care of celiacs.

Gluten free menu designated. I was feeling sick, so I got a Kobb salad. It was AWESOME! Most times you get lettuce and a little fixings... This was jam packed with tasty goodness.

I called ahead to confirm prep procedures and the manager assured me they had good protocols. when I got there I asked for a gf menu, not too many choices but I went about my way asking questions like normal especially because my server didn't know what gluten was. NO dedicated fryer so the fries and the chips were out. which meant half the gf menu wasn't actually gf. I ended up getting a lettuce wrap patty with tomato and guacamole. I did not have a reaction. But it might have just been luck and the fact that it was slow. But it was very sad to see that they didn't seem to know much about cc. mixed drinks are fantastic tho, good price.

I had a good experience here. They have a gluten-free menu and the staff and management are aware of the issues with celiac disease and cross-contamination. They reassured me that they would cook my food on a separate cooking area with clean gloves and fresh foil, and the food didn't affect me at all. :)

No gf buns so like someone else said, bring your own. They say they have separate fryers for fries and they cook gf items separately.

User profile picture thumbnail

They don't quite understand cross contamination (they have fries on their GF menu, but no dedicated fryer), but if you order carefully off of their GF menu you can do well to avoid getting sick. I usually stick to the chopped salad.

not a big gluten free option! last year when we came the food was really good. This year not so much. They brought a big half head of lettuce bigger than my burger cause they don't Have gf buns. The fries were suppose to be seasoned in their special seasoning but had no flavor! So disappointed!!! we won't be coming back here next year when we come to town.

They have a dedicated gluten free menu, involved a manager at the beginning, and made the kitchen staff aware of my GF needs so they could change gloves. They have a dedicated GF menu which is of decent size, and best of all the French fries are cooked in a dedicated fryer!! Cheddar fries are the best!

NOT good for celiac/or sensitive. Everything is shared. Complete cross contamination, there is not a dedicated fryer here so this is false advertisement as well. 👎👎👎

I had a good experience here. The manager and server were very helpful. I had cheese fries and nachos (not very healthy, I know:). I didn't get sick. The waitress informed me that the beans have gluten in them, so we didn't get them on the nachos. Overall a very good experience, I will go back.
