We had great meals at Jason’s Deli. I had the Chicken Club Salad & my husband had the Big Chef Salad. Neither one of us had bacon on our salads since it wasn’t nitrate free. Be sure to order w/o if you have issues with that. The chicken was raised w/o antibiotics, the deli turkey & ham were nitrate free so we liked that. All of their dressings are GF.
They have lots of other options too. Grain bowls, sandwiches, soups, etc.
Pro tip š: With any order, you get their soft serve ice cream for free! It’s a serve yourself machine & you can choose from vanilla, chocolate or twist. If it’s a to-go order, you can eat it while you wait.
Edit: We went back a second day & I had the Great Southern Bowl. It was yummy too. I liked the fact that it was delivered in a disposable bowl with a lid to avoid contamination. They changed gloves to make my meal too.

They used to be really good about cross contamination but there have been 2 times when they brought me regular bread. Once it was in a container with the "gluten free" sticke on it but when I opened it, it was a regular sub bun. I took it back and they said it was not gluten free and then they said it was the third time it had happened that night.

Because wheat/gluten will immediately send me to the hospital, I have to be certain what I eat is safe and carefully prepared. Every time I eat at this location of Jason’s, I tell them of my allergy before ordering something of of the “gluten-sensitive” menu, and they have always been very understanding and careful to make sure the food is prepared separately and with new gloves. My favorite menu item is the chicken bacon ranch baked potato, which can also be ordered as a half-size. This is my go-to lunch spot in Roanoke, and I’m so happy to have somewhere dependably safe to eat.

They have a GF menu. A vast selection. Cashier asked if GF was an allergy or preference. Got the chicken panini on GF bread with chips. Came in a to go box and chips were in a sandwich bag. I had no issues.

I had the Big Rueben with a side salad and chips. I didn’t get sick but I took my gluten assist pill before I ate. This was a very clean establishment. I would definitely go again. My brother who is celiac had a reaction but he didn’t take a enzyme pill before he ate.

I had a great experience with Jason's Deli for lunch. They have a great gluten free menu and a very knowledgeable staff. The cashier explained to me the kitchen layout and what they could and couldn't do. I order the grilled chicken panini on gf bread not pressed*( the panini press does come in contact with gluten) they did however toast it for me on a cleaner surface. They even brought it in a box with a gf label. It made me feel safe and the food was exactly how I remember it being before I was gf. I will definitely be back and try other things on their menu. They even have gf soup which can be hard to find sometimes.

I often have lunch here with friends on Sunday. The food is to be as expected from a chain restaurant. Not bad but not exceptional. Very few choices and staff not knowledgeable. I have had salad bar, baked potato and soup but that’s about all I can eat there.

The service and the food were good. They have gluten free bread. The salad bar looked good too. There is free soft serve ice creme. I made a coke float. Nice.

I could not believe how filthy this restaurant was. I ordered a salad and the worker walked over to the salad bar and started fishing out lettuce that was soaking wet with water pouring off of it. The bar had cheese & debri all over it and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned all day. Then the prep cooking area that was bordered by glass that was greasy and filthy. I was so disgusted by the lack of cleanliness there that I lost my appetite, asked for a refund and left.
I have a wheat allergy and am gluten intolerant. I have ordered curbside/take out from them several times and, as yet, haven't had an allergic reaction. I usually order the Texas Spud or the Mesa Chicken Salad (without cheese on both) and make sure to flag with "Gluten Sensitivite Reminder" and "Preparer Change Gloves" on the Gluten Sensitive Reminders and put "Wheat Allergy" in the comments when ordering online. They do have a Gluten Sensitive menu online.

Our go to place for salad. The salad bar seems safe, I'm careful about the end with the premade salads, just for cross contamination concerns. Fresh veggies and free ice cream makes it a nice summer lunch. Have tried the sandwiches, but they are very difficult to order (staff is not very knowledgeable about gluten content of ingredients) and I don't trust that my food will be safe. So we stick with the salad bar, it seems to be celiac friendly.

The only reason this got a 2 star is because they do have gf bread and udis cookies and the staff is extremely friendly.Having said that, my salad had a gluten containing noodle in it. The mama get said the noodles are right next to the lettuce. The kitchen looked like a high cross contamination risk. If you have no other options, I would get the salad bar and soup.

They are not dedicated gluten free, but have always been very careful with cross-contamination. I’ve eaten here probably 50x and never been sick. I am very sensitive to cross contamination. Food comes in marked gf containers. Any sandwich can be made on gf bread. Kids’ chicken tenders are also gf.

Asked them to prepare my meal separately in a clean area, change gloves, etc. They said all of the above are standard procedure for GF orders. They were very helpful and kind.
The GF bread was pretty bad. Dry, fell apart, etc. But the rest of the sandwich was great!
Update 7/6/22
I’m glad I was watching. I gave them the usual requests, but watched the sandwich maker use the same knife to put mustard on a regular sandwich and then my sandwich. Also didn’t change gloves. I got the manager’s attention and pointed it out. He showed the worker the special “kit” she was supposed to be using and they remade my sandwich. Ended well. But I will be watching like a hawk from now on.

Ordered online after looking at the gluten sensitive menu pdf on their website. I appreciated that the online ordering system had 2 "reminders" (listed with the sandwich ingredient options) to change gloves, the employee graciously reiterated and acknowledged the allergy when speaking to me, and my food arrived with a disclaimer sticker about cross-contamination, noting information from Analytical Food Laboratories.

I didn't see how the food was cooked. I am not celiac I have a sensitivity so I cannot speak to the concerns of people with celiac. There were some gluten free options on the menu which were highlighted by a symbol. I ordered the CB (chicken bacon) Ranch Potato. It was horrid. The potatoes were precooked then when ordered they added the stuffing and cheese. Then they over microwaved it. The cheese turned to plastic, the chicken hard and difficult to chew. The management doesn't seem interested in customer satisfaction. It was soo cold in there that everyone was complaining and shivering as they left. Outdoors it was 82, inside had to be 65.

I usually choose between baked potatoes and salad. I’ve never gotten sick here. I personally don’t trust sandwiches at any Jason’s. Just look at the line—sandwiches leave too much chance for cross-contamination. This place started off really strong! Great manager and friendly staff. They must be struggling to hire good workers because they’re less friendly and not as clean. However, anywhere I can eat safely, as someone with Celiac, gets 5 stars from me!
