I dined here safely for lunch yesterday. I ordered the wood-grilled salmon salad with avocado lime vinaigrette, and it was delicious. It was very helpful that the restaurant's website has a 'health and nutrition' page and offers a PDF version of their Nutritional & Allergy Guides. I downloaded and reviewed this beforehand.
However, I want to mention that they served bread as an appetizer for my table, which caused a lot of crumbs and made me nervous. Additionally, when my salad was brought out, it did not have any special markings indicating it was flagged for a gluten allergy in the back of house, which also concerned me. Despite these concerns, I'm happy to report that I feel fine 24 hours later.
I did not specify the safety protocols but they said they had allergy protocols and the manager came out after I ordered to tell me the chef knew and they were taking precautions. When they brought out the food they specified my food was gluten free (someone without celiacs ordered the same thing). Did not get sick
The menu is marked with a little teeny sign, but that was good enough to figure out what I could safely eat. Even the cocktails are marked if they are gluten free. I had a delicious salad with grilled salmon. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The service was great. Our waitress seemed to understand my issue. When my plate was sat in front of me the server did say gluten free. No negative reaction. I will go back!
Went for a double date night with friends and had a great time. The vodka lemonade martini was great and I had the three course dinner with the BLT salad, steak, and dessert. I upgraded to the 7oz filet for $10 which I thought was a good value. My husband ordered the prime rib and it was huge and perfectly cooked. I’m GF and I found the menu to be well signed with many options, and our server was knowledgeable. My only ask is a GF bread option to start.
They have several options. Our server was amazing. She made sure my order was correct and safe to eat. The manager came over to check on us too. My meal came with a dessert. She said the only safe item was fruit, but would make it special. She asked if I was safe with dairy and put whipped cream on top . It was a delicious meal. No reaction.
YES! This place was a win! Stopped for dinner after a Dr appt nearby. Gluten-free items were clearly marked on the menu and the waiter was able to answer my questions. I had the wood-grilled salmon with mixed vegetables and loaded baked potato. The food was delicious, perfectly cooked and seasoned well! My husband had the prime rib with French fries and grilled street corn. He loved his meal as well.. I tasted the prime rib (also gf) and it was also perfect! I am VERY sensitive to gluten and had no problem at all! This place was a pleasant surprise and we will def eat there again! Thank you Firebird’s!
I had a great meal. The menu was good, and the staff was very knowledgeable and professional. I had no problems at all.
Update: I had dinner with family and friends and we all enjoyed the meal. As I mentioned in an earlier post, the staff was great, the food excellent, and GF items were identified on the menu. No issues.
Had a steak, no issues with that!
The staff was very good at making sure my food wasn’t cross contaminated. They didn’t have many gluten-free options but you can’t go wrong with a filet mignon with mashed potatoes!
The server was really cool, and if he had any doubts, he would run to the back and check to make sure.
10/10
What a lovely evening. Our server was amazing with my allergies! Menu items are clearly marked as gluten free. Before I could mention I had a wheat allergy, he asked if it was allergy or preference and even asked about other allergies. The appetizer (bacon deviled eggs) were brought out by a manager who assured us gloves were changed and they were assembled in a safe area. Then my Tomahawk pork chop was brought out by one of the kitchen staff who again assured me care had been taken for all my allergies. Food was hot and super yummy. The rest of my dining party also enjoyed every item they were served. Excellent experience. We will definitely be back.
Told the server I had celiacs and she told me what on the menu would be GF and told me she would pass on my allergy to the kitchen. Sadly there is no GF desserts and not a separate menu just items designated on the regular menu that can be made GF. Overall good experience!
Sensitive Celiac. Ate there in February to celebrate 3 birthday’s, with a large group, on a Saturday. The manager went over the top accommodating my gluten intolerance. Very knowledgeable about gluten free. Many options. My food was amazing, as was everyone else’s. No issues. Headed back again, with same group, Sunday after church to celebrate another birthday!
Ordered filet and baked potato. Options were marked on the menu. Server was knowledgeable and said he would mark allergy in the computer. My food was brought separately from my friends who were with me. I don’t know if that was due to allergy or not. No sickness and sensitive celiac.
Great experience at Firebirds in Surprise! Manager was very attentive. He talked to me before the meal was served. He delivered my meal. Staff checked in with us several times during the meal. Food was delicious, even for gluten eaters. Nice patio. A little noisy due to so much construction nearby.
Ordered Chicken Cobb salad. Very good and seasoning was just right. The service was very good. GF selections are marked on the menu, staff was helpful and knowledgeable. Will go back.
Went here to celebrate my stepmother’s birthday last Friday night and it was amazing. Our waitress was extremely friendly, accommodating, and happy to answer any questions we had. Items on the menu were clearly marked if available GF, the food items and the drinks as well. I ordered a double black diamond martini and the baby back ribs with a side of parmesan mashed potatoes. Everything I had was exceptional and the portions were large and reasonably priced. Will definitely be back next time I am in the area.
They seem knowledgeable but the menu is INCREDIBLY limited. Eaten here three times and even after ensuring they change gloves and use fresh ingredients while ordering one of their few gf options I still got sick 2/3 visits. Unfortunately I would not expect this to be a safe place to eat for celiacs.
I have eaten here at least 4 times in the last year and never had any issues. The menu is marked with gluten free items. Even some house cocktails are marked for peace of mind. They have an iPad they can show you potential allergens with every entree. The manager will gladly come talk to you. I usually order one of their giant salads with grilled chicken or the salmon entree. They will serve bread at the table that you cannot eat if you are with gluten eaters.
They had a handful of options on the menu marked GF. I spoke with the waitress and manager to understand how they prepare GF food for allergies, etc. They brought my food out separately and noted that it was made safely. I ordered the honey glazed grilled chicken with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Unfortunately I quickly became sick. I am very sensitive as I have symptomatic celiac. The food was good but unfortunately I couldn’t finish it and have been sick for two days. Wish my experience would have been different.
I went yesterday for dinner. I am severely allergic to wheat, dairy, soy, eggs, tree nuts, peanuts, nuts, and shellfish. I had BLT salad in a large, plain baked potato and fruit. The fruit was grapes, blueberries and strawberries. The food was delicious. My parents and I loved it!!
I've been to dinner here twice, the first time was before covid and staff were attentive and knowledgeable. The food delicious and even offered GF options for dessert. The most recent dinner was summer of 2023, staff were stressed and clearly didn't know what was gluten really is, what ingredients contained it, and what dishes were safe. Brought me a salad with croutons even after specifically asking for no croutons. I felt sick afterward. I won't go back to this establishment.
