Ate here multiple times and never gotten sick when eating in person, however I did get sick ordering to-go one time. I have tried a variety of their gluten free options and was fine if eating in person. I recommend not order to-go from here.

So far we've always had a good experience at Firebirds. 3 out of 4 people at our table ordered GF meals. 2 of them with gluten intolerance and 1 with celiac. Food was good and no one had issues after. All three ordered salads, meats, loaded potatoes or mashed potatoes, slaw and shrimp. The service was good for a Friday night without reservations.

There are many GF items clearly marked on the menu. The staff were knowledgeable about my allergy and even asked if it was ok to bring bread to the table for my husband. I had the grilled salmon and mashed potatoes….so tasty!!

Went for the first time today. Lots of options on their menu are GF. I had the shrimp and strawberry salad and it was absolutely delicious. They understand gluten free and celiac and cross contamination and we’re super nice and accommodating! I’ll be dreaming of this salad forever.

We went with egg, dairy, and gluten allergies. Waitress was very helpful, understanding, accepting, and kind when it came to dealing with our allergies. She asked more than once of there were any questions we had and gladly asked the chef and answered the questions we did have. Menu items were marked as able to be made safe for gluten allergies. No up charge for changes! Food was DELICIOUS and not lacking in the least! Will definitely go back!

Um. Yum. There’s several items that are indicated as an ability to remain gluten free. I told the waitress, they did all the things such as new gloves, utensils, etc. I got the honey something chicken w Parmesan mashed potatoes. Literally the best potatoes I’ve ever had in my life. I’m highly sensitive with my celiac and haven’t had any issues since eating. 10/10 recommend.

My family loves Firebirds. We have eaten there regularly. Decent amount of gluten free options. Tonight was a bad experience, and one I thought I’d share as a warning to others with celiac. Ordered the superfood salad. It comes with “ancient grains” which I asked them to leave off. Waiter asked if I had a gluten allergy, I said yes, and he said he would note it on the ticket. I also asked him to check with the chef to make sure everything else (dressing) is GF since it isn’t marked as one of their GF offerings. He came back and said chef said it’s GF without the grains. Perfect. Food came out, started eating a couple bites and discovered all the grains under the top layer of spinach…it was all tossed in dressing so obviously cross contact and possibly grains eaten unnoticed. Sent it back, manager came out and said she would have another salad out in a couple minutes. 15 minutes later I still don’t have a meal and my family was done eating, so I had to request it to go. Frustrating and completely avoidable if they were careful and paid attention to the allergy notation. They obviously didn’t. So just a word of caution about ordering something modified.

I have visited a few times. Each time the server has been very helpful. My meal has been brought out by the manager with an allergy marker. It has given me peace of mind while eating a delicious meal. The gf options are kind of slim, but their protocol is great!

We stopped to eat as it had been a while since we’d dined here. We had not been since hubby went Gluten Free.

Their menu is marked with a wheat symbol as to what is gluten free. They also said pasta dishes could be made GF.

He ordered the Bruschetta Chicken with GF pasta. It was good but not the best GF pasta, pretty dense.

Amazing experience. Alex took great care of us and my gluten allergy. (Celiac) he was very knowledgeable and helpful. Great vibe and atmosphere all around. I had the aged ribeye and the bacon deviled eggs. The deviled eggs are a bit spicy but still great. And the steak was sooo good! Added that garlic butter too the steak as well. My wife had the baby back ribs, also GF and tasty. Meat fell right off the bone. If your going to this location at night, ask for Alex.

The menu clearly marks the options that are good for those with gluten sensitivity, and there’s a note at the bottom of the menu that encourages customers to mention allergies to the server.

My son has celiac, and he loves that he can order steak on the kids menu. He likes the parmesan mashed potatoes too.

One thing they could improve on is that all kids meals come out with a package of Oreos, and they’re not the gluten-free Oreos. We take the package off of his plate quickly if we forget to tell the server ahead of time to keep them off of the plate.

We eat at Firebirds often and have never got sick from them. They have a good amount of naturally GF (marked) items on the menu.

I haven't had a food I dislike so far. The deviled eggs are amazing. I could probably eat 20 in one sitting.

They do offer free bread and sometimes will bring it out without asking, so we just politely say "no bread please" when ordering beverages.

The staff and chef are very knowledgeable and willing to make accommodations.

I got the ribs. The taste was amazing!! We got sat by the kitchen so I could watch. Thankfully I did. One of the cooks ended up moving my ribs from one plate to another which is fine but he didn’t change his gloves after handling gluten. I also watched the kitchen manager wipe down plates with the same towel on several plates including ones with gluten. When the restaurant manager delivered the remade ribs, I told him that wiping plates with the same rag can cause cross contamination issues. He didn’t seem to understand. Just said that any plates that are marked with allergy are handled differently…. My waiter did not mark mine as allergy even after having a conversation about it.

Nice environment for dining with a group as the room doesn’t echo too much. The server was knowledgeable about gluten-free choices, said he’d advise the kitchen to be sure. The salad was good and my dining partner enjoyed the prime rib.

We had the most amazing birthday dinner here! Not only was the menu great and the food was outstanding, the service was second to none!!

We also loved that they could safely accommodate my daughter who has Celiac Disease with zero issues and were incredibly knowledgeable about everything. They were unfortunately out of the gluten free ice cream, but everything else was perfection.

This was literally one of the best restaurant experiences we have had in a while!

I was underwhelmed by the menu selection and food. Despite the unwelcoming service, my waitress hardly acknowledged me when I said the dish needs to be gluten free for an allergy. I ordered the pineapple chicken kabob which tasted bland. My baked potato was a little under cooked. The rest of my family weren’t thrilled with their meals either. Honestly, there’s much tastier GF options in Short Pump that are more worth your money.

Bruh this waiter had no clue what gluten was💀 bro came up to me after I ordered my steak and told him I have an allergy and goes, “I thought gluten was just flour”. He then urged me to explain to him what gluten was like I was his teacher 🤣 anyywaysss, food was less then mid, but wasn’t awful. Just left that joint so idk if I’m gonna be sick or nah.
