Almost anything here can be ordered GF. All the dressings are GF. I loved the salmon and the chicken salads or quinoa bowls.
Really good, fresh and quick salad bowls. Labeled G for contains gluten, and there is lots of choice for those which don’t contain any gluten. Might have some inherent risk due to not being dedicated gluten free chain, and I would also ask them NOT to mix the bowl at the end as the tongs might mix other gluten containing items (or ask them to use clean tongs)
Everything is GF except their bread and tortilla chip toppings. I avoid both / any condiments in the same area. Delicious and tasty food (don’t order to go - they seem to always get my food modifications completely wrong).
Food is so delicious, but I've gotten sick several times from eating here. Their sourdough bread can easily contaminate all the cheese and crunchy toppings because the bread is located behind them and passes directly over them. The goat cheese and quinoa have both really messed me up, but if I avoid them I seem to be fine.
Healthy and very clear in what is glutenfree and what's not. And very, very delicious! Enjoyed eating in several Sweet Green restaurants throughout Boston
Food was good. It had been awhile since I’d been to a sweet green and they have added crispy glutinous onions to the hot chicken bowl I like, so I ordered in person. Got the bowl without the onions or the optional bread they always offer. All of their proteins and sauces are still gluten free. The workspace was a bit of a mess so cross contamination could be an issue, but there are so few gluten items on the menu I took the chance.
The harvest bowl was great!
Great gluten free and vegan options. Staff was knowledgeable.
Yummy gf bowls
Very tasty and healthy salad bowls. Lots of gf choices
You can have almost anything but the bread. They wear gloves to put on the toppings, and the salad was great
Love sweet green- healthy, yummy, and filling. I have never had a reaction here and do not feel that worried about CC- the one thing I’d mention is to make sure that you say something fast before they put a piece of sourdough bread on top of your salad, as long as you make sure that doesn’t happen I’d say 99% of gluten intolerants should be completely fine eating here.
Got the Hot Honey Chicken bowl (WITHOUT crispy onions - they contain gluten) and had no issues. Use the app to see which items and ingredients have gluten. Most things can be made gluten free by removing a topping or two. Staff had just put on fresh gloves, so I’m not sure if they would change gloves on request. Freshly cleaned tongs were used to toss the dish prior to serving. Didn’t see anything concerning with the toppings area, but there’s always a possibility that something slips in to another container.
Have eaten here a handful of times, and have gotten glutened each time. They do have a GF menu, but I’m not sure how well they deal with cross contamination. My attacks have no been as bad as eating straight gluten but just be aware if you’re sensitive to cross contamination!
After I mentioned I have Celiac Disease, the employee said she would get one of the employees who had been specifically trained to prepare my salad. Delicious food! I didn't have any issues after eating the food.
the salads here are absolutely delicious! dressings are clearly marked gluten free. haven’t gotten sick here and i’ve eaten here quite a bit
Best salads in the world! Sweetgreen is a chain, but they are super consistent & amazing with allergies. Very fresh, made to order, customizable, variety of options. I could go on & on, but I'll end with saying that this is what I look forward to when I visit Indianapolis every year! I highly recommend trying the pesto vinaigrette. Also... ask the employees to change gloves & you'll be all set!
Food was tasty and as the previous reviews mentioned the menu marks items that contain gluten. Plenty of GF items to select. Ordering was fine, but once the food came they were served with gluten containing forks and plates. I was instantly sick. When asked the guy behind the counter about the fork, he didn't know. So I guess if you can have it served on different tableware it is good. In general watch out for the Compostibale branded items. They are not GF. I've learned the hard way.
Terrible experience.. ordered through Uber eats and customized a bowl with no crispy onions. They put crispy onions in the bowl and I only noticed half way through eating it. Became very sick after and they offered a $15 credit; what a joke..
**disclaimer: my rating is specifically from a celiacs/lupus persoective**
They advertise about being aware of celiacs and allergens, but not all staff trained fully. Yesterday my service person tried, he really did. As soon as I stated I have celiacs he washed his hands changed his gloves, let the other person on the line know he was dealing with an allergy…I felt good at first. However, ended up just purchasing my 20$ salad and giving it to my friends, watched them eat because I did not feel safe.
Upon order, my server washed his hands, as stated above; I then stated I needed soy, gluten, egg, dairy free (lupus and celiacs here) and asked his recommendation. He said the mushroom bowl: which if you read contains tofu (soy), mushrooms (not sure what sautéed in) and specifically miso dressing. I stopped him and said miso has soy, he did his due diligence and got out the allergen book which I can appreciate but he clearly didn’t understand what soy or gluten is in. I asked what was in the spicy cashew topping and he said it was safe but I was not feeling at ease about it. I thought ok educate a little but by this time, a line formed. He was going to grab my bowl items from the line, which I asked if he could get me stuff from the back, he got my kale only and grabbed the mushrooms, chicken(added price because I couldn’t have tofu), and all other toppings from the line, so I knew immediately I would not be eating this bowl. Paid my 20$ for the bowl and like stated above watched my friends eat because I couldn’t risk the CROSS CONTAMINATION.
I’m not at all mad at the young man helping me, he really tried. I just was so disappointed that with the allergy safety they advertise that the staff is not more educated in cross contamination, that celiacs need gluten free not just for a diet; we will literally be sick, for days if exposed.
I can only hope in the future the company takes more time to educate their staff fully
Opted not to eat here. This was my first time tying sweetgreen. The menu lists the “G” symbol signifying an item “contains gluten”. I asked if they could change my gloves before making an item that did not have the “G” (contains gluten) symbol. She said that item does have gluten and then proceeded to list all the items with the “G” and I said oh, but the menu says right there that symbol means it “contains gluten” and then the man next to her said “no it means gluten free”. When I explained again that it says on the menu this symbol is “contains gluten”, they both looked at the menu and were confused by it and I just said no worries and left. All of the it items with the “G” symbol also listed breadcrumbs as an ingredient š¤¦š»ā so basically they were trying to say the “G” symbol is gluten free when it is actually items that have gluten! Just be aware they don’t understand the labeling of the menu at this location, so I wouldn’t trust them to make the food safely.
Good salads, everything is gf except bread and toasted onions. Tell them you are celiac and they will be careful!
I’ve come here pretty often recently and haven’t been glutened! Most of their menu is gluten free and items that do have gluten are clearly marked with a “G” and can be modified to be gluten free. The only items that contain gluten currently is the side of bread, bread crumb topping, and possibly the fried onions depending on the brand they are currently using. All the glutinous items are at the end of the assembly line so there is a low risk of cross contamination (at least for the things at the beginning of the assembly line). They are very good about glove changes and washing hands. I get the crispy rice bowl mostly but their salmon bowl is also super tasty.
Staff to extra care to make sure that the food I got was completely allergen free (I have multiple in addition to a severe wheat/gluten one)
Easy choice for gf needs. Btw if it's labeled G it HAS gluten vs what some may expect that if it's labeled G it's gluten free. I almost ordered focaccia thinking it was gf until my husband pointed out that it was G for has gluten.
Right near the University of Texas campus and serves delicious bowls! They also have sandwiches but no GF bread. GF things are labeled on the menu. They also note calories and grams of protein. This is a counter service place, no waiter.
Went here for lunch and had an amazing experience. I mentioned what I was ordering and my celiac to the person at the counter and she immediately went into action. She double and triple checked everything and made sure she source ingredients in ways that avoided cc. When I thank d her for being so thorough, she mentioned she was a manager in training and she was grateful for the experience of how to handle an allergy. She was so careful, and then went on to thank ME! Amazing service and the food was really really good!
Good variety of salad options.
So many gluten free protein bowls and salads. So good
Sweetgreen is another one of our go-to fast casual chains. The staff consistently rock it. They always know the ingredients in everything and what is and isn’t safe. They also seem mindful when scooping toppings to ensure none drop into the wrong bin and cause cross contamination of ingredients (not just gluten). They’ll change gloves on request. I don’t even like salads, and I love this place. Highly recommend!
The team at Sweetgreen is amazing! I ate there once a week before my celiac diagnosis and am going even more often now. There are less than a handful of gluten-containing ingredients on the menu and they will wash hands/change gloves to ensure there is no cross contamination. Lots of healthy and yummy options!
Best healthy place i’ve ever been to. Every staff member was knowledgeable about gluten and the food is very safe. The menu has a ton of labels to know what is safe and the managers have to make allergy food so if you mention a gluten free diet they will take you seriously.
Salads & bowls are the specialty, several GF options - chix pesto parm, miso salmon ect.
However extremely overpriced and small portions. LIC branch less appealing overall than other branches.
Always a positive experience ordering here. They do have non GF ingredients but I consider the cross contact pretty low risk for myself. They change gloves no questions asked. I get the Harvest Bowl (with blackened chicken) and I’ve never had a reaction. Note their menu marks what DOES contain gluten with a G (rather than the typical labeling of GF items) so be careful when you order.
Delicious GF options, employees were very knowledgeable.
