Lovely staff ! Had a whole section of gluten sensitivity on the menu.

Slim offerings. Soft tacos were okay a little bland. Only rice availability GF was lime cilantro which was not what I was hopping for.

I’ve eaten here 4x. I always get the same order- gluten free tacos. I’ve not had any issues at all. The gf chips are not good though so I don’t bother with those. They also make fantastic margaritas.

Very limited gluten sensitive menus but the food is still amazing….. the server even asked if I wanted baked chips instead of the fried chips as they are fried in the same frier as everything else.
Even tho the menu items are limited the food and service is great. Not celiac safe******

Didn’t feel safe enough to eat here after the waiter told me there’s better ways to be healthy than limiting gluten. Didn’t trust that he would convey my dietary needs properly. Also, those at my table found a pasta noodle in the queso dip….weird

Tacos, rice and veggies were pretty good. The gf chips were baked and a little like thin cardboard. Edible but not the same as fried tortilla chips.

Very good even with limited options. Server was helpful and knowledgeable. Chips are in shared fryer but the chef baked some chips for me which was extremely nice. Got the soft tacos and rice.

They don’t guarantee anything as “gluten free”. I had the corn tortilla beef tacos, and they weren’t great. Also they have baked chips that also weren’t great. The sides were good though. There are options here, but there are better safer Mexican places in town.

Staff was helpful. Gluten free tortilla chips I’m dedicated fryer. Not amazing chips but decent. Menu was small but the food was good. Wish the menu you was larger but great place for gluten free Mexican food.

I’ve eaten here twice, and had the tamales from the gluten sensitive menu both times. The first time I had them for lunch, and later that day felt kind of sick, but I was super pregnant and we had been driving all day, so didn’t think anything of it. The second time was also for lunch, and a few hours later I was sick as a dog. So, I definitely don’t feel like the tamales are celiac friendly. Unfortunately we won’t be back.

Knowledgeable about gluten free! I got separate chips and dip, and the entrees were really good. I was fine after so I can assume that it was safe! Highly recommend.

Honestly a nightmare… my family really loves this place but it was awful for me as a gluten free person. Here’s the short stuff:
Pros:
- the gluten sensitive menu actually looks pretty good, I think if you’re not sensitive to cross contamination you might (?) be okay
- salsas were amazing, the fun little flight has some really great flavor
Cons:
- I was promised a dedicated fryer for the chips, that’s false information. I wouldn’t eat them again
- waiter did not write down any orders and despite me asking the usual questions and reminding him 5 times, he served me flour tortillas. Had I not checked with him before eating I wouldn’t have known
- My remade meal came out after the rest of the party was done eating, they charged me for two meals
- Management wouldn’t make eye contact with me after I tried to be extremely polite given what happened, I think staff lacks education on allergies
- Waiter made a joke when I packed up my food about me not eating, I was honestly scared to get sick at the table
- Even though I only had chips and two bites of my tacos I got really sick, ended our night
I can’t recommend this place for celiacs and honestly anyone with an allergy in good faith. Im bummed it happened this way because it’s a favorite for my local family. If you’re going to eat here I’d call ahead and talk with a manager and definitely ask for that manager before you order to make sure everyone is on the same page.. but at that point just go to Miguel’s, I’ve eaten there safely before.
I provided feedback on the website so I’m hoping for some kind of training for the staff so they understand better in the future.

I ordered bbq fajita chicken from the gluten “sensitive” menu and began eating it when I noticed there were 4 flour tortilla chips adorning the plate. My mother asked the manager who admitted they were made from flour and tried to ask if I wanted them to make me something else to which I declined. My trust had been lost. Hopefully I don’t feel sick later for the 2 shrimps I did have.

We came to Abuelos twice the week we were in Myrtle Beach for vacation because the food was that good. My wife has celiac and she loved the tacos. My son and I do not need to eat gluten-free and their fajitas and specialty dishes were so good. Their quest dip is awesome but it is a large order so only recommend if you have a group of four or more, or you can take it back as leftovers. We will definitely come back if we are in the area again.

My server and the manager were wonderful. They checked everything before serving it to me. Gluten-free chips aren’t on the menu, but they had them upon request. Had the Shrimp Fajita Salad. Ranch wasn’t Gluten-free, so I added their green sauce. So good!

Two stars because they do have a GF menu (ask the hostess). However, their back of house process are broken and my GF was served gluten. We caught it two or three bites in.
We spoke with the manager and she agreed to re-evaluate processes. Kitchen did not get the message that the dish was supposed to be GF.

It was so sad:( They do have a dedicated gluten free section of their menu but it was guacamole, beans, rice and ground beef hard tacos only. No queso, fajitas, corn tortillas, etc… Their regular menu is extensive so I was shocked that they didn’t have more options available. They apparently add flour to everything! We chose to leave and go somewhere else.

Can I just say WOW! The place and food was absolutely amazing. The GF menu is part of the whole menu, but is dedicated to one spot, so not hunting down what we can and cannot eat. It does say gluten sensitive, but they were super careful to take care of me.
I ordered the fajitas and the bonus to it all was the chips and green salsa. Absolutely loved the salsa. I ordered the flan, and oh my…it melts in your mouth.
Our waitress, Rhonda, was very kind and helpful and the chef came out twice and spoke with us. Guys, I’m telling you…if you are at Myrtle Beach, this is definitely a place to go if you like Mexican!!

Waitress was super helpful and pleasant. When I walked in, the hostess made sure to tell me they’re gluten sensitive not gluten free but they will do their best to accommodate me. She also told me to tell the waitress right away that I need gf chips and not to eat the ones they initially bring out. I had tamales. They were good. Somewhat limited menu but it’s nice to have another alternative and the tropical salsa was great!

We ordered salads from their gluten free menu and they came with fried flour tortillas on the salad. My son with Crohn’s disease and gluten intolerance are some before we noticed they looked different from their other chips. The waitress just said sorry and the manager said nothing even though he was made aware of the situation.

Came here a few years ago and loved the food. I was very disappointed this time. While they had a section of the menu for gluten free items, it was a small section. I was looking forward to authentic Mexican food, and that is not what I got at all. Was not crazy about the food

Ate there last night 7-12-2021 and I have to say, it was delicious! They have a GF page on their menu and I ordered the 3 soft taco plate. It came with a side of cilantro rice and beans. The seasoned beef on the tacos was outstanding. It was so good I feared I would end up sick. I’m a very sensitive stomached Celiac and I had zero issues eating here. They also brought out separate chips and salsa. The salsa was pretty plain, but it was still nice to have the option to eat chips and salsa like others there. Great experience!

While I was able to eat without getting sick, the food is not very flavorful. If you don't like spicy food, this is your place. I do live 7 miles from Mexico, though, so I'm used to authentic Mexican, and this is not it.

Enchiladas are made with corn tortillas. Really good.

The staff was knowledgeable and helpful. As soon as the waiter knew I was gluten-free, she started preparing the gluten-free chip option (not listed on the gluten-free menu), and the salsas and dips are so good! The bacon-scallop fajitas and sangria are amazing!

Gluten-free menu with a variety of options - combination plates, fajitas, and salads. The food was average, but the service was below average. The stars are awarded for the food, bonus points for a gluten-free menu.
The options are there, but the staff are not super well trained on gluten free. There’s always an issue with the food, just about every time. When it’s right, it’s good 👍
The tacos were fantastic! I had a great experience here.

Very small gluten free menu, the waiter has no knowledge and the manager was too busy I guess to come over. The food was not good and service was just ok at best.
I’ve come here twice with a family of four, we are all gluten free, but I’m the only one who is intolerant. I’ve never had bad food, and our service was very polite. I cannot say if there is cross contamination but I’ve never had any major discomforts. It’s TexMex, but it’s still good.
While they do not guarantee a gluten free environment, they do have a gluten-free menu and will serve baked (bland but I am grateful for them) tortilla chips in place of fried.
I do well here despite being highly sensitive.
If they had more GF salsa and if they had better tasting GF chips I would give 5 stars.
Last week, I ordered carry-out from here, and the soft corn tortillas were handmade and AMAZING! 4.5 stars for me now!
