Seems celiac safe but the food wasn’t fabulous. It was good but not great.

I have Celiac and Crohn’s and I’ve visited this restaurant twice since moving to Knoxville from Florida. Both times, I have been EXTREMELY ill afterwards with painful abdominal pain lasting hours. I, personally will not be returning to this establishment again and caution others as I wouldn’t want someone else to experience this discomfort.

My family went for Mother’s Day and 3 people in our party have celiac. Gluten free items are marked on the menu. Server was knowledgeable if we had questions. All we said was we had a severe gluten allergy and to please make a note of it. We ordered Pollo Rosa Maria, Jonny rocca, and pork chop with mashed potatoes and broccoli. We also got a Caesar salad no croutons and house salad. No one got sick!! Will definitely be returning!

Not free from cross contamination. We specified celiac disease on order and even called to confirm it was seen. VERY SICK after.
Great food, but not safe for celiac sufferers.

I have eaten here 4 times in the past 7 months and have had nothing but excellent service with accommodating for gf and other allergies. I have never had any reactions after eating here they are one of my favorites I just wish I lived a little closer.

I chose the safest thing on the menu I could think of, and had the Italian salad with grilled chicken. I did not get sick afterwards. The waitress just pointed me to the items marked GF in the menu and clearly didn’t understand it’s not as simple as that.

Carrabbas is my new favorite restaurant in Cape Coral! Gluten free is clearly labeled on their menu and every waiter/waitress I have had is knowledgeable. Their pasta is average and nothing special, but I am obsessed with their Tuscan Grilled Filet with the spicy Sicilian butter, asparagus and mashed potatoes. Their Caesar salad and caprese salad are also amazing. Highly recommend!

Croutons on the salad after ordering the meal gluten free and telling them again it was gluten free. No issues besides that as main meal was safe.

I was very impressed with all the GF options listed on the menu. They even have GF pasta now (I didn’t try it). The waiter took my cross contact concerns seriously and double checked with the chef to make sure everything was GF and prepared safely. Chicken Marsala was delicious and I felt fine afterwards.

I am highly sensitive to gluten - even to slight cross-contamination. The server and chef was very knowledgeable, and the food was fantastic! No allergic reaction. I had a house salad with parmesan dressing, and GF penne pasta (that wasn't mushy), and crushed tomatoes, oil and basil with wood-fire cooked shrimp. Out of this world delicious! Highly recommend.

Ordered the Fet. Alfredo with gluten free pasta. I was assured the gluten free pasta is cooked in new/fresh water. And the Alfredo sauce is gluten free- it’s just cream and cheese. We left about 20 mins ago and I’m terribly sick. Total cross contamination or worse. Would not eat there again.

Menu has gluten free items marked well, except for the pasta section. They were out of gluten free noodles during my visit, but the Bryan chicken item with goat cheese and sundries tomatoes with a lemon butter sauce was quite amazing. Server was friendly and there was excellent customer service.

Products are listed as what is gluten free and even vegetarian. Most servers and chefs are well educated in gluten and cross contamination. I’m pretty sure they have a separate surface that they make their dishes on. They also have a gluten free pasta option as a sub for their regular pasta dishes. I have never had any issues here with sickness from gluten.

Daughter ordered grilled chicken and asparagus from the kids menu. I also ordered GF so I could share with her/assist her. My partner also ordered the same thing I did and there was no difference in our food so I'm not convinced they did anything special and just served us the usual food. She did not get but i don't know if I would go back.

Third time eating here in 8 months. Every time I make it VERY CLEAR that I am allergic to dairy and gluten (yes I know the correct word is gluten “intolerant”). Today I was told all the meat sauces have gluten in the form of bread crumbs. Makes zero sense. Why have gluten free pasta if all I can have is plain tomato sauce? And it explains why I had a reaction the last two times I ate there, which I chalked up to something else. I am done with Carabbas since they obviously don’t take allergies as seriously as they say.

I’ve eaten at Carrabas several times and never had an issue. I order the Bolognese w/their gluten free noodles and the Fettuccine Carrabba, no mushrooms and the chicken sautéed on the grill (don’t like the wood grilled chicken) and either a house salad w/no croutons or the chicken soup no noodles or they will add some of the gf noodles to it if they have some already made up.

Ordered the Chicken Bryan, very clearly explaining my needs to the waitress and item was marked GF on the menu. Took one bite and realized there was a rogue mushroom with sauce (maybe Marsala?) in the middle of the plate. Informed the waitress. She said it probably fell off another plate and they could remake it. Made me ask for a manager, because there is no way they took any precautions with my plate the first time and I had questions about their kitchen processes. Manager said all sauces are gluten free and all right next to each other in the kitchen, so it happens! Confidence in safely eating now down to a zero. Boxed it up and my husband will eat it tomorrow.

This chain had never been on our ‘celiac’ radar, but we’ve been missing out!! They are super knowledgeable, and almost everything ‘noodle’ on their menu can be made GF (I didn’t ask about the other things as we weren’t eating a non-noodle dish). My daughter got ‘fettuccine’ Alfredo with GF noodles and she said it was amazing! They don’t have GF bread for the oils, but maybe you can bring your own 🤷🏻♀

The GF options are good so I do believe it to be GF friendly. My family was fine after we ate there … but service was horrible. Incorrect drinks from bar, food was late after other orders came out etc…. Very, very poor service. However… at least it seems to be GF.

I was initially impressed. There were many gluten free options that were clearly labeled on the menu. However, the children’s menu did not have any gluten free labels on it. My wheat allergic son wanted Mac and cheese (aka cheesy penne) off the kids’ menu. I explained to the server that he had an allergy and asked if the meal would be gluten free if we subbed gluten free pasta in the dish. The waiter said it could be prepared gluten free. After a few bites of his cheesy pasta, my son started having a reaction. The pasta he had wasn’t penne so I think that actually was the gluten free pasta but I’m not sure what made him sick. Also, there was a hair in his pasta. Also, the kitchen lost our appetizer order so we didn’t get that until our dinner came. On the positive side, my dairy allergic son was able to eat without an issue. Not the best experience though. Also, it does need to be noted that the menu does state that no guarantees can be made that their gluten free menu is truly gluten free and won’t be cross contaminated. This was our first Carraba’s visit and may not be typical of other locations.

I have a soy allergy, too, so they offered to clean their grill and cook a chicken breast with salt & pepper... the mashed potatoes & asparagus were safe. I left a little bloated, so there may have been some contamination, but for mild allergies, we did great & they really did do their best!

Ordered online, part of the order was mama’s Sicilian chicken soup (ordered without noodles), soup contained a single noodle. When I called to talk to a manager they stated I needed to call when I place my order to properly express that I need gluten-free. I don’t know why putting it in the special instructions on the online order was not sufficient. Deduced that they do not take allergies seriously.
