From their allergen list: We have worked diligently to remove wheat gluten from all our sauces, dressings, and proteins. Natural glutens remain only in our flour and wheat tortillas and in two desserts--tres leches and key lime pie. This means that we offer "oceans of gluten-free options" in our menu. All of these items are gluten-free: all enchiladas, all tacos, all salads (without the flour or wheat tortilla), all nachos, and our chicken tortilla so up...which uses corn strips.
Changed gloves and were very conscientious

SO SO AMAZING!!š„ŗšš¼ I told them i was celiac and the guy taking my order switched his gloves. He told all the workers and wouldn’t hand off my food to workers with contaminated gloves.

NOT gluten free and NOT safe for Celiac. Staff was totally clueless on what was gluten free. When questioned on their shared preparation surfaces and shared flat top, they tried to assure me that “…heat kills gluten”. Spoiler alert, it doesn’t.

The young lady working at the counter had no clue about allergies. She kept trying to put flower tortillas in our dishes when we specifically asked for corn. She had no understanding of cross contamination and started laughing when I said we were looking for a gluten free meal.

Delicious as usual! Ordered online GF friendly grilled chicken salad. Staff was friendly and order was ready right on time. Portions were the best I think I’ve ever had at any Costa location so I was very impressed about that. The vinaigrette dressing was also FANTASTIC! Which isn’t always the case in past experiences at OTHER locations (sometimes it’s too watered down or bitter).

Worker changed their gloves AND I think they washed their hands. Corn tortilla, grilled chicken. Was pretty good! Value wise it’s better to just get a salad and make your own tacos honestly. You get more value for the cost.

Super gluten friendly. Gave us the nutrition information sheet and made sure to show my child that they changed gloves. Aost everything was gluten free and in its own container so we felt no worries about cross contamination.

I ordered tacos and chips and salsa and specifically selected make the tacos “gluten friendly” they call it. I also selected no cheese. Both tacos had cheese and were on a flour tortilla. Also somehow they messed up the chips and salsa and gave me 5 different sauces, 2 of them being a huge amount, that I didn’t ask for. Not sure how you can mess up chips and salsa but they sure did as well as my tacos. It also took about 30 minutes after my order was supposed to be ready for it to come out. So I basically waited for 30 minutes and paid $15 to have a side beans and rice and corn chips.

I haven’t asked about the corn tortillas so not sure where they land with cc BUT I can safely enjoy the delicious bowls! Honestly Costa Vida is better than Chipotle IMO. Tasty and convenient and willing to make things dairy free too!

I tipped them well for trying, but neither manager nor the new employee understood cross contamination and flour dust from tortillas made onsite, means the likelihood of ingredients being gluten free, even before potential on the line contamination, is unlikely. I was hungry and ate the food, but never again as I also paid the price of my first reaction in many years.

Love this location. If we are close to Farmington we will go to that one instead of driving closer to home. Love the interactions we have had with the manager over the past year and a half. If he sees us he always handles our orders. He always comes and talks with us and is very interested in learning ASL as my SO is completely deaf. I can’t say enough about the knowledge, food, and friendliness of the staff.

The one and only time I went to the CENTERVILLE location. The person had just put on clean gloves then put his hands down where the flour tortillas are. I asked him to change his gloves and he refused. I got sick from eating there. Will not being returning to that location.

I got glutened here a few months back and couldn't figure out why. Now they dust tortillas with flour so it is all in the air. They also do very little against cross contamination. Also management here is terrible, and there have been some very rude employees. I used to come here all the time but haven't been back since march.

An extra star because the food is always delicious, but i am paying for it today. The things I noticed were:
The first person to help me, changed her gloves.
The scooping utensils were the same as the ones used for burritos and everything else, with no cleaning in between.
Nobody announced the gluten allergy to anyone else, and after my bowl went through the toaster, the employee grabbed it without letting me finish my sentence about having celiac, and him needing new gloves at a minimum. This is not exactly his fault as he didn’t know, and he did change his gloves after. (I know I can ask to have it remade but it was dinner and I didn’t want to be that guy. I know. I am still new to this and trying to find my voice to speak up for the way my food is prepared.)
My food was then placed on the same tray as all of the other orders from my group.
The cashier had kept her gloves on while processing the order and putting cups on the tray as well.
I don’t know why I thought this was a safe choice, it’s a cross contamination playground. You’re better off playing cafe Rio in your own kitchen.

All of their salsas, rice, beans snd meats are GF. They have corn tortillas and without having to ask they warmed it on foil on the grill so as not to use the same surface that gluten was cooked on. The person helping us willingly changed his gloves and stayed with our gluten free meal through the line so he didn’t cross contaminate. They were very accommodating and have made efforts to create a lot of GF options. GF chips too!

I asked the server if the chips were GF and he assured me everyone on the line is GF with the exception of the flour tortillas. He made sure to let me know he was washing his hands and changing gloves before he assisted me with my order. He also made sure to use the bottom drawer of chips that are not touched unless new gloves have been put on to prevent cross contact. Highly recommend for any GF friends!
To follow up, within an hour of eating here I had stomach pain, bloating, and digestive issues. I’m hoping it wasn’t gluten related as the staff was so great about trying to accommodate. I suspect it was an accidental cross contamination though.

I was a little nervous to eat here but it worked out great. They all washed hands and changed out gloves fir us and one person handled the GF order. I said I had a gluten allergy, and they immediately changed their gloves without being asked. Any Costa Vida I’ve tried always seems to be very good about cross contamination, especially since most of their menu is gluten free anyway. I got the steak salad with corn tortillas. I’m glad that even their chip strips on top of the salad are safe. Delicious and no reaction!

This restaurant has a great selection of gluten-free items on the menu and promptly cleans/changes gloves when you mention gluten-free. They do grab out of the same containers, but they will get toppings from the extra storage underneath if you request. If that occurs, I would say it’s safe from cross-contamination. I’m not celiac, so I’ve not asked them to do that often.

Costa Vida is generally really good about gluten free, and this location is great. Basically just the flour tortillas and most desserts have gluten, but pretty much everything else is gluten free. I said I had a gluten allergy, and he immediately changed his gloves without being asked. Then he communicated to all the other people on the line that it was gluten free so they changed their gloves. I got a steak salad, and he even got corn tortillas out from a separate closed container. I didn’t even know they had corn tortillas. I was ready just to have no tortillas at all, so that was a pleasant surprise. Everything was delicious!
