Burton's is the absolute best! I have been coming here regularly for about 5 years without ever having a reaction (I have a wheat allergy). Not only is Burton's safe, but has a delicious and wide selection of GF foods (separate menu). They begin the meal with GF focaccia! I have tried everything from the GF calamari, to the delicious bbq chicken salad (seasonal), the GF pasta carbonara, and the GF chocolate cake. You cannot go wrong! As an added bonus, Burton's does takeout which saves me during a busy week!
New restaurant. Founder has celiac, Grill is gluten free, dedicated fryer, Kids menu, pasta, chicken tenders, fries 90% of their menu is gluten free. We have been back several times and daughter never gets sick. Trust burtons 100% Regular and GF menus are almost identical with minor differences. Love burtons!
Wow!!! Just wow! Gluten free menu, amazing staff that is actually trained about Celiac Disease, understands the seriousness of being careful, and cares. By far the best restaurant experience I’ve ever had with gluten free. I ate so much I’m stuffed and happy!!
Amazing calimari!!! Plus they have gf rolls. Friendly staff. Make reservations as they get very busy.
Amazing! Sat at the bar as we had no reservations. We were immediately greeted and asked about food allergies, as was everyone else served near us. Our food came out separately as my hubby isn't gf, from different directions. I asked if they had dedicated area for allergens and was told yes. I'm not CD, but severely intolerant and was fine. Our friends whose children have peanut and tree nut allergies also eat here without difficulty. And might I mention, the food was delicious???
This place is incredible. They have a huge gluten free menu that makes you feel like you never have to miss out on anything again. The gluten free fried fish sandwich with fried pickles on top is amazing.
Great restaurant! They had a large gluten free menu and a separate fryer so I could enjoy some fries too! I ate at the bar and the bartender was very knowledgeable about everything on the menu including pointing out items that might have other allergens in case I had other sensitivities.
I have eaten here several times since they opened. It is so comforting to know how seriously they take gluten free and that they have good protocol to provide a safe meal. The food is excellent. They have a great gluten free focaccia with herb butter to start off the meal. I love the calamari and had a delicious lobster risotto. Their chicken risotto is also quite good as are their burgers and steaks. Everything is good and if you really want to indulge the seven layer chocolate cake is worth the calories. I am so happy they have this new location. Now if I could only get them to expand to the Cape (Falmouth please).
The staff is very knowledgeable and accommodating for gluten free (and other allergies). Right when you come in, they ask if anyone needs a gluten free menu. The waiter told us that they take allergy prep very seriously, and someone else brought out my gluten free plate. They have a dedicated gluten free fryer, so I was able to take some of my boyfriend’s fries! (We asked for them on a separate plate.) I had the orecchiette pasta. The pasta was a bit over cooked, but I loved the sauce and the stuffed zucchini. They have a lot of gf options! Even cocktails are listed on the gf menu!
Celiac-friendly and the entire staff know about celiac and cross contamination. Separate GF menu with delicious fare, fresh fish, risotto, steak, chicken, black bean burgers, regular burgers, salads, quinoa and veggie dishes. GF CHOCOLATE CAKE AND FLAN for desserts... the CEO of this company has celiac and I LOVE THIS RESTAURANT!!!! So much love for this place which also, btw, strives to have autism friendly dining experiences for families with autism. It’s SO NICE to not have to be that asshole with the gluten issue and be communicated with clearly and respectfully. My flan was so good that I asked the waiter to double check that it had no flour. He got eye level with me and said he was certain it is GF and will get the chef to come talk to me if I wanted. That was enough reassurance for me. Didn’t get sick of course, but Wow... they were totally ready for my worry and able to do anything to make me feel safe. And FULL. :-)
This place takes food allergies very seriously! They have a great gf menu!!! Always make sure you get a square plate. We’ve eaten here many times and have had great experiences. They even made a mistake once on the dairy free and handled it so well. I highly recommend this place.
My wife has a ton of food restrictions and Burtons was nearly as good as an upscale Disney restaurant at being able to accommodate her. Also, their GF calamari was really good. Probably the most accommodating restaurant we’ve been to in CLT.
So happy to have found this place and wish they would open one in Chicago or even better NW Indiana! I got the General tso’s cauliflower and the crab cakes. The manager brought my food out to me and confirmed gluten free due to Celiacs! And my waitress was so good at explaining the precautions taken.
It's a safe haven with great food. 3rd time being at a Burtons, 1st time at this location. I have Celiac and it's wonderful to feel comfortable ordering food and it being gluten free. They have always been very good at that, and their food is great. Desserts change periodically so you might get the typical chocolate cake or something else. Tonight we had chocolate crème brulé. We didn't care for the chocolate. Nothing wrong with their dessert, just turns out we don't like chocolate crème brulé. In any case, definitely a recommend.
Staff is extremely knowledgeable about the gluten free menu and they have tons of options! All gluten free food is served on different dish ware and brought to the table separately. Definitely safe for celiacs.
This place is amazing. I’ve been here 5 times since moving to town, and the maxx burger and fries is so good that I haven’t even tried anything else yet. Extensive gluten free menu, and absolutely delicious. Safe kitchen practices for Celiacs. The only con is that I don’t think they have any GF dessert (but I’m always too full to ask!)
I was blown away at this restaurant! Went the other night when visiting Charleston and the care and service is amazing! Shane, the GM, Personally brought out gf bread and explained my options and checked on us throughout the meal! He was amazing! I got the half chicken and my mom got the risotto and both were amazing and safe! They have separate areas! Everything is cooked to order. Also, you have to get the gf chocolate cake. It was homemade and amazing! All around amazing experience!
As a celiac this was life changing! From the moment we walked in and were asked if anyone needed a gluten free menu I knew this place was special! Christine (our server) was knowledgeable, efficient, friendly...just the best! The food was phenomenal! The staff was amazing! I cannot day enough good things about burton’s! We will definitely be back and cannot wait to visit the location(s) in Charlotte.
I’ve eaten at 2 different Burtons now. They were both delicious. This one in Nashua provided the same compassion and understanding of gluten intolerance and celiac as the last. What our waiter didn’t know he would gladly check on for us. He educated me about the origin of Burtons. It was started by a man with celiac and he wanted those afflicted to have a great dining option. I had the cod stuffed with crabmeat over a bed of steamed green beans and herbed jasmine rice with a lemon sauce drizzle. My daughter had the fried fish sandwich and fries. She was so excited to have a fried fish sandwich. It had been s long time for her. The GM came by during our meal to check on us and find out if we were pleased. I would recommend this burton’s to everyone. By the way, they even have GF bread they brought to the table.
The owner has Celiacs and the amount of care they take here for others with this issue is just not seen anywhere else. I have never seen a staff so knowledgeable about gluten before. This is our new go to for a nice night out.
Burtons is one of those places where you can go eat and never worry. Dining like before you had Celiac disease. I have been here countless times and the food is fantastic, you have separate menus and the peace of mind is priceless. Burger buns are so so but the wings and fries are out of this world.
It pains me to give Burtons one star. We have been loyal and happy customers since 2012 (started going in Massachusetts). But it pains my husband even more. As soon as we got home he became sick, definitely glutened with bad pains. Burtons was always the one place we thought we could trust to handle gluten allergies safely. This is so frustrating.
Amazing! staff was so great and understanding of allergies. They offered a gluten free menu at the door with many of the same options as the regular dinner menu with modifications. My meal of gluten free pasta was amazing, I got a gluten free roll, and the desert of gluten free chocolate cake was unbelievable!! Loved it! Go there!
The Mediterranean Chicken Risotto was simply amazing. They ask if anybody needs a gluten free menu right away and how many gf menus are needed. The waiter double checked himself to make sure I needed gluten free and I didn’t have any other allergies or sensitivities. A different waiter brought out my food from my husband saying “gluten free risotto?” when they got to the table which I loved because I always feel like I need to ask if it is gluten free just to make sure they know to treat it with a little extra love. We are traveling to the beach and I already told my husband we are stopping on the back for lunch!
As others have said gf menu with lots to choose from, and they use a second server and style of dishes for keeping the gf items gf. I had the burger and fries and was in heaven. It’s been over ten years since I have had restaurant style French fries. Yum!
