HuHot does not have a gluten free menu but does have an allergen list and a list of gluten free sauces. Ask them to clean a spot on the grill and use different utensils, if necessary.

They have great protocols set up for allergies. They were happy to grab fresh bins of ingredients out of the back for us. My only hesitation was that all the sauces were out in one area together. If they had the GF sauces set to one side together, it would definitely have made me feel better. None of us got sick, but next time I will probably ask if there are new sauces in their chill room.

Hi Hot is a great way to fill up if you like stir-fry. They have rice noodles, fresh meats and veggies and lots of sauce options that are gluten free. Everything is labeled with allergen warnings as well as gluten-free. If you let them know you are a gluten-free customer they will clean the grill and generously keep other foods away from yours as it cooks.

They mark your allergies by giving you purple bowls so they stand out for the chefs. I usually stick to just the oils but I believe the sauces are all safe. They clean the grill when they see there's an allergy and they use separate tongs for your food. I've never had a reaction here or left hungry! They will grab rice noodles or toppings from the back if you want!

This place is absolutely AMAZING with gluten free! While most other buffet style restaurants can become cross contaminated very easily, the manager had me go through and write down what I wanted, and prepared it with new containers of food in the back! ALL of their sauces are gf which made me feel so much better. He then alerted the grillers that there was an allergy. He made sure they cleaned the grill super well TWICE. The then used spatulas to block off a section of the grill for my food so no one else’s food would ever get close. They completely changed utensils and most importantly, I did not get sick! They even offered to do it all again if I was still hungry since it was a buffet!

Unfortunately they must’ve changed their sauces. They used to all be gluten free but now only about 5 are. They still section off your meal on the grill and use new utensils when preparing!

I’ve been here a few times and always love it! Ask for an allergy bowl and they’ll give you a special yellow bowl to fill with your desired ingredients. You can choose whatever you like and everything is that is gf marked. Sometimes it’s marked with a “G” which confused me at first, but means gluten free. They also have recipe cards at the beginning of the line including a few gf recipes you can try!
The employees are very knowledgeable about allergies and I never have to ask them to clean anything. They see my yellow bowl and immediately clean and section off the grill so my food does not come into contact with anything else on the grill.

So this restaurant has notes in the menu (and in the bathrooms) about their various allergy protocols… they all sound nice, but fall short in practice. If you have any allergy, they’ll clean and reserve a section of the grill, and pull food direct from the kitchen to avoid cross-contamination. (yay!) And then the grill chefs toss the food all around and scrape their spatulas on the same gluten-covered surface where they scrape all of their other food. And really, how clean was that grill anyway? If you’re sensitive, this place seems like a disaster. Also, the food wasn’t very good, but that’s a whole other conversation…

Celiac-They do a great job with trying to accommodate allergies. If you have allergies, you can ask for ingredients from the kitchen which aren’t cross contaminated, but it definitely makes you feel like a burden. You have to wait for your server and have them bring you out fresh ingredients. They seemed very short staffed, so you’re taking up a lot of your servers time when they have so many tables to manage already. They don’t offer gluten free noodles, so you can only have rice as the main ingredient, but they do offer brown or white rice. They go through a great effort to clean the grill and section it off when you give them your plate. They scrub it down hard! Allergy plates are designated with orange bowls rather than blue bowls for everyone else. The risk of cross contamination is still big and I regret taking that risk because I am SO sick. I appreciate their effort, but the burdensome feeling and risk of cross contamination aren’t worth it in my opinion and I sadly won’t be returning.

They wouldn't take ingredients from the back for me, so even though the grill was clean and they used clean cooking utensils, I wasn't able to eat due to the clear cross contamination on the buffet line -- even during an off time. Might have just been the staff working at the time. But, I don't plan on going to another Huhot. Man, it sucks to go to a restaurant with a group and not be able to eat.

I don’t have celiac but a ln intense gluten sensitivity that makes me sick. The cooks here need better training in how to treat allergy meals since one of the guy used the same cooking utensils on everyone’s food including mine and another person with an allergy. I had to tell my waitress to get help since I was so uncomfortable.

I had the Thai noodles, chicken, and a few other ingredients from the food bar. For the sauce I had 3 ladles of the Thai peanut sauce and one of the sweet chili sauce. One of the servers got the sauces for me from the back so that I didn’t get cross contamination. They also gave me a yellow allergy bowl so the chef would know. The chef cleaned the grill and put up barriers so no other food would touch it. The food was delicious and tested gluten free with my Nima!

While they did give me a bowl to designate me as gluten free, and kept a portion of the flat top grill sectioned off, i don't know if it had been cleaned off.
Secondly, while there i gluten free sauces, they are kept right next to non GF sauces, which with very little effort, splash into each other with no barrier to prevent that from happening. Major cross contamination.
The food was good for those that can handle gluten .

Super delicious food! They have a gluten free noodle option, and all gluten free sauces are marked. Cross contamination is probably an issue (the glutenful noodles sometimes fall in the rice noodles) but I haven't gotten sick yet. When they come to take your plate you just tell them you have an allergy and they clean off an area and make sure no one touches it except with the dedicated spatula. They also have gluten free soy sauce if you ask your server too. I love the food and I'm glad I was able to eat HuHot still!

I've been coming to HuHut since I was diagnosed 8 years ago. And have always had amazing service, from getting food out of the kitchen to scraping the grill, the addition of dividers and separate spatulas.
Today 6/27/23 I was told that they couldn't pull my. Order out of the bins in the back or scrap the grill, use dividers etc. Per corporate... This has always been my go to restaurant and I always get safe. I was told that the heat on the grill is supposed to kill everything. I can tell you it does not. I got cross contaminated.
HuHut I'm very disappointed

The cooks have a procedure to clean a spot on the grill when they see a red allergy bowl. Request some of these bowls and grab a gluten free menu when you check in. Some of the sauces are marked as gluten free despite containing wheat. This is because the wheat has been modified to be gluten free. Personally, I stick with the wheat free sauces. Finally, I recommend asking for Pad Thai noodles from the back instead of the buffet line, as the noodles often end up in each others containers. I am a very sensitive symptomatic celiac and I’ve never had a problem. The staff is great, knowledgeable, and accommodating.

The cook was awesome about cleaning and sectioning off a spot for me when I told him I have celiac. They have everything labeled for sauces on what is GF, though I wish they had more options, only had 3 and 2 are spicy. Would recommend asking for them to bring your sauces from the kitchen as the sauces on the bar are easily spilled into with other sauces. They apparently normally have GF soy sauce too but we’re out this time.

just got done eating here, they took a lot of precautions for my allergies and gave me a yellow bowl to signify an allergy. they even scrubbed the grill and set up a wall between the other food cooking. unfortunately i do believe i got glutened as my stomach is pretty big and painful and my head is foggy. maybe its from the buffet style line im not sure. they tried hard though! the sauces are pretty limited, and none of the regular menu is gluten free. but i guess if you’re not super sensitive (i am) it’s not a bad choice

Be sure to tell them you have allergies, so they can clean a space on the grill and put up separators… best during off peak.
We love this place! We have never had any problems. Be sure to request the gf soy sauce. Once you alert the staff, they will accommodate any allergy...friendly, great food! Perfect for my growing boy, all you can eat. The Pad Thai noodles (only) and all of the sauces are gf.

They are very careful with any allergen. They give you a specific colored bowl. They figure you will only put in what you can have in your bowl. The cooks see the bowl color and as you are approaching the grill, they clean a space and place separators to prevent any cross contamination.

Surprisingly I did not get sick… I was impressed that they immediately asked if I had an allergy when I walked in so I could get a special allergy bowl. They cleaned the grill before cooking my food but the buffet was quite stressful… the wheat noodles being directly next to the rice (gf) was a concern. To be honest, the main concern. Everything else was labeled and we found a nutrition and allergy list online so we picked sauces and items based on that list. Again, shocked I didn’t get sick, but I didn’t!

I was excited when I walked in after asking about gluten free options- they handed me a menu listing allergens and a different colored bowl, so that the people cooking would know, and they cleaned the grill carefully and kept my food separate.
But- the raw ingredients are all next to each other- the GF noodles next to the breaded chicken pieces. Cross contamination everywhere. I should have asked for them to get my ingredients from the back, maybe they would have.

Amazing experience! Entire staff is knowledgeable about allergies. Upon ordering, you receive a separate yellow bowl that flags your order as VIP (allergen). All meat items and veggies are GF, 4 sauces GF. When you get to the flat top, they go through an extensive cleaning process that involves scraping, scrubbing and polishing right down to the steel surface. The cooking area is then cordoned off for the entirety of your cook. (See my pictures). Staff is extremely friendly- never making you feel put out for having a food allergy. On top of that- the food is delicious! Will eat here again- highly recommend this!

We notified server that we had a celiac in the group. He was given a special yellow bowl and the cooks were notified to clean off a section of the grill. The server went the extra mile and picked the ingredients from the back kitchen. The open food bar did have noodles and I was worried about cross contact. The server was great! The manager came out and I spoke with him. They were very nice and eager to provide exceptional service. Highly recommend.

Went there for lunch today my server let me know that they will clean the grill to cook my food separately. The grill master spent quite a few minutes cleaning the grill making sure it was free from food particles. Then he placed four spatulas on each side of my food and he lifted my Food off the grill instead of sliding it to the end. I was very impressed with restaurant and staff was amazing.

Very sick after eating here today. So are other celiac family members. They cleaned and separated the cook space. We only used oil, stayed away from sauces. Still very sick. This place was great. Most everything is labeled and every employee we talked to was knowledgeable about GF and other allergies (including 2 grill cooks, 2 waitresses, and the manager on duty). You get to pick what you want and most everything is labeled or called out on the menu. They have different color bowls for GF customers which you need to ask the waitress for. This signals the grill cooks. The cooks scraped and washed the grill before cooking our gf food, and then kept it sectioned off for our entire visit (you can go up multiple times). We also had s Keto eater in our group and they were able to get several varieties of plates as well.
It was delicious and honestly one of the best meal we had in a long time. We went back multiple times.

Mongolian style, pick your mix of noodles, meat, veg and sauce and the fry it up on a big plate. Sauces and noodles are labeled so not hard to put together a GF dish. Cross-contamination may be an issue because it is all cooked on the same surface, but I didn’t have any problems.

Can you ignore some filth and don’t have food sensitivities? Then this may be the place for you. They need staff focused on up keeping the floors, countertop surfaces, and glass windows / booth dividers clean. In my experience if you’re not keeping up with this then your grill top likely also isn’t safe enough for me. I won’t be back. As someone with Celiac Disease, this place is just not clean or careful enough for me. đ

I would absolutely recommend Bismarck HuHot if you have Celiac Disease. Tell them you need to have a Celiac meal prepared for yourself and they will make it all in the back, clean the grill off three times in a sectioned off area and cook your things separately and even deliver your meal to your table when finished. The sauce options are pretty limited but they do have a few that are. The staff is super helpful! Bring your own soy sauce if you want to add that, theirs in not GF.

If you are sensitive to cross contamination, do not go here. The grill is cleaned for people with allergies but not with soap, just with a brush and some water - lots of gluten left behind especially as they constantly coat the grill in soy sauce.
The buffet where you choose your food is so cross-contaminated with every gluten free option being next to a gluten ingredient and you can see visible chunks of noodles and other gluten ingredients in the supposedly gluten free ingredients.
If you have an intolerance, you could definitely swing it! If you have celiac or a severe allergy, I would say stay away for your own safety.

They clean the grill really well before cooking your food. Most sauces are GF I believe, but to be honest I only use the ones that are very clearly marked GF just for safety. They have GF soy sauce available. I heard through the grapevine that the owner has family with celiac, which is why they’re particularly cautious with allergies.
